Well folks another surgery. This was my 5th. I give thanks to Dr B. For not giving up on me. I can tell you that I started with a nub of what was once a beautiful nose. Wegener's takes no prisoners,It consumed my nose causing me to have serious self image issues. Dr. B has always listen to my concerns and desperation. At no time did he convey a defeatist attitude to my situation. I can tell you it's been hell. I am so grateful and humbled by this experience. His reassurance that he can correct my deformity is what gave me strength to start this journey and not look back or regret my decision. I can't say enough of Dr.B . The staff have always treated with kindness and respect and I wish to thank them all for there patience with me. It is without reservation that I can tell you, you will never in your lifetime find such a caring doctor. This journey causes one to instill serious doubt in the outcome. I thank god for having me cross path with Dr. B. Everyone that knows me can attest to the fact that I am a strong willed person and that I don't take kindly to kissing a... but I cannot recommend Anyone but Dr B. I don't write this review for any gain, I write it to encourage people that have gone through this scourge to seek a master craftsmen to allow you to get your life back. Dr. Berkowitz is an absolutely fantastic surgeon and I couldn't be happier with my results. I am in my late 60s and wanted to refreshen my look. So after careful consideration of all options with Dr. Berkowitz, I decided to have a mini facelift, fat transfer from my flank and thighs to my eye bags, upper lip and breasts. Mine was a revision rhinoplasty case, I had an open nasal bone for almost 10 years and complications that affected the tip of my nose including a lifted nostril on one side. I have always been very cautious and downright scared about changes to my face but this one was really needed. I first consulted with Dr Berkowitz a few years ago and immediately knew if I were to ever have a revision, he would be the one to do it. Dr Berkowitz is extremely patient, calm and so knowledgeable. I expressed my fears and he sat with me for a very long time explaining the procedure in absolute depth and taking time to answer all of my questions. Every time I have met with him he has given me a deep sense of calm about the process and a feeling that I am in good hands. I finally pulled the trigger this year and have honestly, all around, had an amazing experience with Dr Berkowitz and everyone that works at Illuminate. I am now three months post op. I first met Dr. Berkowitz when he was at Aesthetx, and let me tell you, he is brilliant! His bedside manner is superb and he made me feel 100% comfortable, so I wasn't remotely nervous about the procedure. And I am so happy with the results! Also, Dr. B. stands by his work. In fact, for the one-year follow-up to my fat grafting procedure, I'd lost a little fat under my eyes and by my temples (though it still looked GREAT) so he offered to do a redo free of charge! Dr. Berkowitz is a master gastlighter that lies about just about everything he has done and he hasn't done and finds a way to somehow blame everything on you and your body and face for doing him wrong while you were unconscious! Then moves onto other gaslighting tactics of convincing you that your anatomy WAS crooked and uneven or actually normal people are supposed to look crooked! So if you are somehow not disfigured and crooked, you are abnormal according to Dr. Berkowitz, and he will fix you like me by making you deformed and asymmetric! Then, he pretends you're somehow a complicated case when it's furthest from the truth...a simple ordinary case until he turns you into the most messed up mess without even moving close to the right direction of what you asked! Do u want to deal with unapologetic incompetency?! He slanders you instead of taking any responsibility! What a nerve! You must be the unluckiest surgeon that keeps getting unfit tricky candidates you fail to assess before eagerly charging them and selling them lies. Then, why do u have to keep deleting your botched patients? Damage control is cheaper than refunding those you scam...HUH! Dr. Berkowitz will even lie on your records. They have the staff trained to lie too. Their nurses lie to you that they've never had a patient that complained and sued them, but Dr. Berkowitz, Aesthetx, and Zeidler they've all had multiple personal injury and malpractice lawsuits if you look them up. They do the worst to you and dare you to sue them and don't resolve anything honorably with their victims! I almost felt bad for Dr. Berkowitz for keep failing to do anything right, but I lost my sympathy at some point after his endless bizzare blame shifting and irresponsibility. Most useless and stressful post-ops that consist of Dr. Berkowitz only misinforming you and scorning you for noticing what he has botched! I only got severe headaches from his post-ops! No doubt Dr. Berkowitz has great manners and is assuring up to the surgery. But his good behavior changes as soon as you have issues after surgery! His goal is to just get rid of you and the responsibility of destroying you, and he will never admit to anything he has done wrong! You definitely would want to run with these types of surgeons! Even a drunk toddler has once in a while luck with the results. What you want to pay attention to is how irresponsible and untrustworthy this surgeon is when he screws you up...quite often! He will even gaslight you into believing that no other surgeon could do better than his botched jobs and if they say otherwise they're full of it and insane! His few good reviews must be from those who he successfully gaslit and were too shy to complain about their likable surgeon. Or didn' get much work done on them and were just thankful not to look terribly different. It was like I had to keep bribing him for him to eventually get my nose to a point one could live with...so he could pretend he's not responsible for the damage he's caused! Deep down I trusted my chosen surgeon and wanted to believe him, and thought if I cooperated with his demands of burdening his costs over and over again, he would fix his botched mess and I could leave him with a not so bad outcome. But alas, he doesn't even have loyalty even if you do.... After literally half a dozen surgeries he made me lose more fortune and life for nothing but new problems, only for him to quickly abandon me as a patient with complications who is not even healed right out of surgery! I have to keep searching and traveling around for a facial plastic surgeon revision specialist capable and nother body surgeon to fix the defomarties of my body as well! Revision surgeons require many more dozens of thousands to repair so much damage that Dr. Berkowitz has done to me! I have lost so much sleep! A true nightmare! read more

This is in no way meant to slander Dr Berkowitz and his office staff they were amazing Unfortunately, I was one of the unlucky ones that undergoes a rhinoplasty thinking life could only get better, but it definitely did not. I have waited more than a year to write this review, I don't Normally do something like this but if I can save someone else from going trough what i have, This post is to persuade anyone that comes across this heartfelt post to research as much as you can and talk to real life primary AND revision patients before you undergo irreversible procedures. It takes an emotional and mental toll that I do not wish on anyone. I'm happy for all the people that get their dream nose on the first go around. I did not know how common it was to come out with more irregularities than the ones you go in with even in the best hands. I have gone two surgeries with Berkowitz and I will not be returning for the 3rd revision as he suggested ,My tip is very asymmetric that it is embarrassing to look anyone in the eye or go out in public. Also the left side of the tip is collapsing I have a dent the size of a small pea and a pice of carlige sticking out I have lost sleep and spent countless hours researching information on revision. I want to make it clear that my after picture IS NOT the work of Dr. Berkowitz. I decided not to go with Dr. Berkowitz for my rhinoplasty since his sketch of what he was capable of doing with my nose (on right side of image) was still something I was not happy with. What angers me about my consultation with Dr. Berkowitz is that he had the nerve to tell me that it was not possible for him to make the tip of my nose stick out any less than what he had done in his sketch. This was SO devastating to me during my hunt for a surgeon because it made me think something was wrong with my nose because it couldn't be fixed to look smaller, like other noses I had seen. I found this hard to believe because I had seen pictures of other people who had a similar nose to me who was able to have it reduced to the size that I wanted. Thankfully, I kept searching for a surgeon who would give me what I wanted and found one that I did the rhinoplasty with in November 2021 (see after image on left). Dr. Berkowitz said he could not decrease the size of the tip of my nose any more because then the skin on my nose would start to sag/droop. As you can see in the after image of the surgeon that I went with, there is no drooping at the tip of my nose and my surgeon was able to decrease the tip of my nose to what I had asked Dr. Berkowitz to do. Dr. Berkowitz seemed very kind and caring but I think it is so wrong to try and convince people that the results they want are not achievable because you are not capable/willing to perform what is needed to get the results desired. read more

My son played water polo throughout his childhood. Two broken noses and one high school graduation later, we decided to do something about his crooked, bumpy and internally mangled nose. Another surgeon I trust recommended Dr. Berkowitz as it was a very complicated surgery. After an hour-plus consultation, immensely detailed sketches and explantation of what he would recommend, my son and I were both totally committed to Dr. Berkowitz. He totally understood my son's needs and was quick to say the new nose would remain masculine-looking but straight and with no bump. He was amazing. And his surgical and office staff could not have been nicer. The surgery was long and painstaking. The results are utterly astonishing. He has a completely straight, bump-free nose that fits his face beautifully. No one would ever know he had surgery, it just looks like my son has a perfect nose. This review is for removal of dermatofibroma by Dr. Hausauer. I have had a 3/4" dermatofibroma on my right thigh for about 7 years, and finally decided to get it removed. The tricky thing is it's a cosmetic procedure, so my insurance would not cover it. After talking to my general health doctor, they referred my to a clinic that quoted me $1000 and a scar about 3x larger than the size of the dermatofibroma. Unhappy with this information, I started calling around to other dermatologist and cosmetic surgeons, and in general other places would either not perform such a procedure or would quote a price far too high for being out of pocket. After calling Aesthetx, I was thrilled to hear they had reasonable pricing along with a very helpful front desk to answer any questions I had. Before you know it, had an appointment planned for the same week, and was able to get the consultation and procedure done in the same visit! Best of all, Dr. Hausauer used a much better method of removal which made the scar about the same size as the dermatofibroma itself! It was recommended to have a biopsy on the removal, and thankfully the cost was very reasonable because again, my medical coverage did not cover it. Main takeaways of why Aesthetx is amazing: * Dr. Hausauer is personable, informative, professional, passionate about what she does, and on the cutting edge of her field * Front desk and nurse was incredible at getting back to me about questions I had, especially the biopsy cost * Consultation and procedure costs are reasonable * The clinic itself is clean and has a modern style Although I realize very few people go in for such a rare procedure as mine, I was thrilled with my experience at Aesthetx, and I highly recommend anyone to at least do a consultation for their wide offering of services. read more

Dr. Berkowitz is UH-MAZ-ING. I had been thinking about getting a breast augmentation for years but never had the money or the courage to do so. The time finally came! After a ton of research and talking to friends and family, my fiance and I met with a couple surgeons. I was referred by a friend who is familiar with his work through her clients and highly recommended Dr. Berkowitz. From the initial visit, we both knew he was the one! He was extremely patient and was very thorough with any questions that I or my fiance had. Ladies, there is NO better plastic surgeon. Believe me. I'm in the industry and have been seeing his work now for 15 years on random clients of mine. And I stored his name in the back of my mind, thinking if the time ever came, I would go to him. Well the postman finally arrived at my gate and I had to get work done. Don't ask me what I did, a lady never tells. Okay so I may be more of a broad than a lady, but my ass still ain't telling. But I will say this, one of the reasons why I admired his work so much is his precision and alacrity with scars. He had to revise TWO existing, horrific scars from a previous surgery done 20 years ago. Now, three weeks after the surgery, his incisions are barely visible. It's better NOW at three weeks than my existing scars at 20 years. There are A MILLION surgeons who all do the same thing out there, breast implants, liposuctions.....but one of the true most basic foundations of their craft - can they cut and not harm the skin like a ninja???? One of the best Medical professionals i have seen in my life! Most comments out here are made about his cosmetic procedures and maximum number of them seem very impressed by his work and ethics. I am writing this review to explain about how great a surgeon he is for cases that are not entirely cosmetic....birth defects like cleft lip and cleft palate. My daughter " Evania" was born on February 3rd 2012 with a severe cleft lip and palate. I actually found out that she was going to be born with this condition when she as still in my womb. I was referred to Dr Berkowitz by my OBGYN. I consulted with him the very week I was informed about my daughters condition. The first time i saw this man I knew he had to be God sent. A perfect experience with Dr Berkowitz's practice: (1) First and foremost, I am VERY HAPPY AND SATISFIED with the overall results, even though at 4 weeks post procedure, some swelling persist around the eye areas. (The doctor indicated that the 'final' result is many weeks away.) The doctor absolutely achieved what we set out to accomplish - which is to dial back the clock by 10 to 20 years! I don't really remember what I looked like 20 years ago, but I feel that my newly re-juvenated face now matches my energy level and life-style. (2) Secondarily, Dr Berkowitz is attentive and patient in listening and answering questions, which made me more confident in making this major decision - great bedside manners! (3) The third comment is about post-ops care. My nose and my eyes were bothering me for years so one day a friend of mine told me she had her nose reshaped over 25 years ago with Dr. Larry Berkowtiz. I scheduled a consultation right away since I love her nose shape. He is very calming, informative, and patient. Nothing like what I had experienced in the past with the others i consulted with. My rhinoplasty went great I had a bump and the tip was too big in my opinion. Now I love it my current photo is my new nose and im only 8 weeks now. My eyes needed lifting and I was born with ptosis when one eye lid is puffy and not balanced with the other side. think paris hilton or forest witaker they have the lazy eye. The operation went great woke up feeling wonderfullly relaxed as Rose woke me up gently. My healing time was nothing as far as the nose to my complete shock, there was bruising in my eyes but it went away quickly. My pain was minimal only needed pain med for two days!!! I have gone to Doctor Berkowitz for "maintenance" procedures for 20 years, and because of the fabulous results he achieves, at least 8 of my friends (4 of whom rejected the idea of cosmetic surgery because it looks "unnatural), have chosen him to do major work for them. Nearly four years ago my now 16 yr. old son, completely smashed his nose playing middle school basketball. As his pediatrician exclaimed "it's completely collapsed" Due to his age at the time, we had to wait until his major growth spurts were complete before it could be repaired. During that time, he could only breath through one side, was plagued by constant sinus infections and his glasses always looked askew. With the Covid protocols, the sinus infections really became problematic and we were relieved we were given the ok, that it was time to be fixed. His pediatrician insisted we go to a plastic surgeon, "an EN&T might be able to open a passageway but a plastic surgeon will fix the entire nose and prevent issues in the future" he also insisted upon Dr. Berkowitz and we are so grateful he did. From the moment we arrived, Dr Berkowitz and his staff was so attentive, thorough, knowledgeable and caring. Since this wasn't elective, they took care of navigating us through the insurance part, their communication through every step of the process, their honesty w/ what to expect, the before and after care was exemplary. The surgery was not easy, his was a difficult case but the results are awesome! He still looked like himself or rather back to who he was before his nose was repositioned on his face! More importantly he can breathe fully and freely again for the first time in nearly four years. A 16 yr. old teenager trying to squeeze in major surgery between football and baseball seasons is probably not their typical client, but the flexibility and understanding they show while making appointments around a typical student athlete's schedule is much appreciated. I went to Dr Berkowitz for a consultation to get a tummy tuck and breast lift with augmentation. Unfortunately he was not available and they had a "nurse" do the consult. After unsuccessfully answering my questions, she asked me if I wanted to go ahead and book the surgeries. Also, if I "could" meet Dr. Berlowitz before the surgery if I really wanted to. Ummmhhhnn no thanks.. I like to know the person that is going to be cutting me open. I felt pushed. Unfortunate, since he came highly recommended by a friend. read more

I really want to rate 4.5 stars but i can't. I want to rate Dr. Berkowitz 5 stars because he is extremely gentle, kind, and extremely attentive to your concerns. He saw what I wanted to do with my nose and knew exactly how to fix what I was self conscious about. I'm going in on thursday to get my work done. The only reason i didn't put 5 stars because I felt the lady in the front desk was at first really nice but then my second visit I felt she was really rude. But don't judge the doctor by anyone rude. read more

I am in the process of searching for a top plastic surgeon to improve my appearance and jump my self-confidence. As a licensed psychologist for 25 years I know people and can size them up quickly. I do not have correctable vision in one eye and my ophthalmologist (eye surgeon for 35 years) recommended Against surgery on my low eye lids. I was somewhat concerned with the first surgeon I saw in SF advised there was nothing to worry about except possibly some dry eyes. When I met with Dr. Berkowitz on 2/25/16 I expressed concern about any risk to my vision and Dr. Berkowitz said my ophthalmologist was "absolutely right." Immediately I trusted him as he explained what could go wrong and how. Throughout my consultation I found Dr. Berkowitz calm, concerned and a person of character and integrity. He explained things more completely than the first top notch surgeon and he also took the time to explain the aftercare. He encouraged me to take my time as facial surgery is a major procedure. I thought his entire approach was comprehensive with his focus on improved appearance and the utmost safety for his patients. No doubt in my mind this was a 5 star consultation. Dr. Berkowitz works with top anesthesiologists from Good Samaritan Hospital and took the time to show me the operating room. I liked all of his staff people who were friendly and positive.. A great lady did up my estimate which was much more affordable than the first estimate. I think it is wise to do your research and perhaps see three people. another surgeon recommended Dr. Berkowitz and advised many people have great results under his masterful hands. In my book nothing takes the place of a solid history of experience and Dr. Berkowitz has that. I have heard from others in the community that many former patients have been delighted with his work so I recommend you get a consultation and go from there. Ok, so the wife needed a little Nip and Tuck. I am not talking about the television series; I am talking about real-life sag and bag. Is it gravity? What is it about skin that starts to go south when previously everything pointed north. She was upset but I didn't mind; I love her no matter what the state of her skin. She came to Dr. Berkowitz, had her nip and tuck, and is the happiest woman alive. Let me tell you, if "Momma aint happy,aint nobody happy". I've decided to write this review because the experience I had was so amazing it needed to be said. This year I made the decision that I would explore my options for plastic surgery. I realize age is inevitable but I wanted to find a way to refresh myself. I was so tired of people telling me how tired I looked. With many options for surgeons, I went to Dr. Berkowitz who came highly recommended by a friend. My initial consultation was done by Dr. Berkowitz and his nurse Virginia. I was so impressed with how much time they took to answer all of my questions and concerns. They absolutely exceeded my expectations by providing me all the information to make an informed decision. After much thought, I decided to have a neck lift and an endoscopic brow lift. The morning of my surgery I checked in with Dr. Berkowitz's nurse Cecilia who was so kind and informative. She told me exactly what to expect before and after the surgery while calming all my nerves. Dr. Berkowitz came in the room to do his necessary markings while also reassuring me how smooth everything would go. When I woke up, I was comforted by his other nurse Sabrina who demonstrated extraordinary patient care. She was so compassionate and nurturing during recovery. At that moment, I felt so glad to be in their care. I was told to expect a reasonable amount of pain based on the complexity of my surgeries. As a result I kept waiting for the pain to kick in where I would need to take my pain medication and the pain never came. I was absolutely shocked as to how little discomfort I experienced. Even more so I could not have been happier with the results. I still looked like myself, but a much improved self. I am so happy with my decision to improve myself and I urge anyone considering plastic surgery to visit Dr. Berkowtiz's office for a consultation. read more

I had bad breast implants. Dr Berkowitz was kind, respectful and empathetic towards my situation. I truly appreciate his time he took to give me great care. Thank you Dr Berkowitz :) I'll be back soon! After my explant, I chose to wait a while to see if I want implants. I recall when I had my procedure, he offered me a discount. I refused, but that very gesture was beyond sincere. I am not inclining he will do that to anyone, however, I can't forget how much he cared about my surgery. On March 20th I received a face lift from Dr. Berkowitz. He did an awesome job. I lost 30 pounds prior to my procedure so my face was all sunken in.
