My wife was in a time crunch to have a button down shirt altered so we stopped here due to the sign outside that stated "same day alterations." Visa and MasterCard are accepted forms of payment. As soon as we entered (Tuesday afternoon) I felt like we were inconveniencing the seamstress on site. The seamstress literally made my wife and I decide how much length needed to be removed/shortened from the button down shirt. In my experience with the seamstress's in Macy's and Nordstrom Rack, the seamstress makes the suggested alterations using pins and/or chalk then consults me/us for feedback. Does not happen this way at this alteration shop. I didn't even see a step/riser of any sort to help with the alteration of pants, skirts and dresses. The seamstress on site said that our shirt would be ready by Wednesday. My wife stated that she would pick up the shirt on Friday at 1:30pm since it was more convenient for her. Again, this seemed to inconvenience the seamstress since her reply was that the shirt would be ready for pick-up at 3:00pm on Friday instead of at 1:30pm on Friday. If the shirt was originally going to be available on Wednesday, then it shouldn't have mattered what time the shirt was picked up on Friday. Needless to say, after a few words, the shirt was scheduled to be picked up at a time (1:30pm) that was convenient for us, not the seamstress. The total cost of the shirt alteration was $18 + tax = $19.66. The workmanship was decent. I will never ever use this place again for my future alteration needs. My preferred alteration choices (Macy's and Nordstrom Rack) provide top notch customer care, higher quality workmanship and a little lower pricing. It pays to be organized so as not to find oneself at the mercy of this subpar alteration shop. read more

I had two jerseys that needed the bottom and sleeves shortened and hemmed. The lady quoted me $41.69 to shorten and hem the sleeve and bottom of one jersey and to just shorten the bottom of the other as she feels that the other sleeve didn't need to be shortened - all for $41.69. Let me remind you this is not a wedding dress....it's a Seahawks jersey! Anyway, since I was already there I went ahead and paid for the services in full and the lady said it will be ready after a week. A week later....I went to pick up my jerseys but forgot to bring the receipt. At first she didn't want to release it but I showed her the charge that posted in my bank account saying that I already paid for it in full. However, she did not want to give my shirts back and wanted to charge me more because she quoted me wrong. I told her that it's not my problem and that she was the one who quoted me the price - not me!....and she still charge my card in full. When she finally handed me my shirts after arguing about back and fort about paying extra for the sleeves. I realize that the sleeve of the jersey was not even shortened and hemmed. And when I look at both jerseys, only one bottom was shortened and hemmed and nothing else was done. In other words, she charged me $41.69 to get an inch off the bottom of one jersey cut and hemmed and nothing else - what a rip off. If you are coming here to get some alterations better get your shit in writing because they are quote and bait switch kind of business - you end up paying more when you pick up your shit. This is business is a fraud!!! $41 to shorten and hem the bottom of a shirt.....the service cost more than jersey itself - what a joke! read more

In order for them to return money for the service they didn't do, you have to call Laura and set up a time for her to come in! Her own employee called her cheap! This place won't be in the mall much longer since I've already complained to the mall management and I'm going to complain to the BBB! This place has the worst costumer service! I was charged $90+ just to get my dress hemmed. Very overpriced and the woman there didn't even do it how I asked her to. Do not recommend!

I brought in 2 pants so the lady can compare because I needed 1 inch gone for the waist for one of the pants. She took off 1/2 of an inch and when I ask the lady to redo she said no. It is clearly too loose and needed a 1/2 inch off. I have been coming to Laura's for over 4 years and have spent hundreds of dollars there, but I won't be coming back there any longer. read more

Shop is in the Everett Mall by Macys, so it's real convenient. I have used this shop for basic same day service but also for my wife's dresses and two weddings. The ladies that work here are good...but if you have something special...make an appointment with Laura. It's worth it....great fashion sense, I think she was a designer in her homeland. Honestly I heard really good things about this shop but after getting my WEDDING DRESS altered there I'm never going back. I asked the lady's to take out the hooks and zipper from the back of my dress and to add on loops for a corset. I bought the fabric that was needed at my own time and money spent and even brought it there to them if not it was going to be $20 extra a yard for them to go get it for me. When I picked up the dress I saw that the hooks were still attached to the dress and the zipper was cut only to the bottom of my hip and of course they added on the loops. $135 for what??? Just adding on loops? Never ever going there again. Gina have to do it at home my self now. read more

I would give this place zero stars if I could. I brought two maxi dresses to get hemmed and that is all. The woman told me $15 for each dress. Totally reasonable. She cut the long hem for one of the dresses. When I got to the register she wrote up my ticket. She wanted me to pay $50 for each dress for a hem! I was really confused since she had told me $15 and I repeated the price back to her to double check. I told her I wasn't going to pay $50 to get one dresses hemmed. She also wanted me to pay for her marking the other dress and the one she did a cut on. I ended up paying $15 for the dress she cut and horribly. I WILL never go back and urge others to not give their business to them. read more

I can only speak for the Laura's Alterations at Northgate Mall and I wouldn't use them again. I had sleeves taken up on a jacket and one was uneven. They corrected it but the stitching was poor and the whole thing looked unprofessionally done. Next time I need alterations I will try a dry cleaner. Less expensive and much better work. read more

Expensive and Laura, the owner, has the worst customer service ever. The ladies in the store are nice but the owner is terrible! I had an issue and was told only the owner could help. Laura is rarely at the actual store and hardly ever answers her phone. I tried to contact her for weeks before she finally answered the phone only to tell me to call someone else at another office who also never returned my calls. I followed up with Laura as one last try for help and she said to call the office. I told her my issue was with her and her store and I'd leave a bad review. She told me she'd press charges. I went into the Everett Mall location to have a patch sewn onto my hat, First off they wanted pay upfront CASH. I told them I didnt have the cash on me but i could go get some. They then said no no no thats ok debit card will work, So I paid the $15.00. I told them exactly what I wanted.... Patch to sewn on the front of knit hat in the center. They told me come back half hour I returned 30 minutes later they brought hat out Patch was sewn onto the hat UPSIDE DOWN. I was like whattttt no way... You try on... I told her NO I want this fixed correctly. She said OK come back 30 minutes I went away came back 30 minutes later to get my hat and low n behold the hat was DESTROYED Bill of hat kinked/bent, Patch Crooked, Marks from where they sewed it upside down in the first place. I was so upset and dis-satisfied I threw the hat in the garbage right in front of them and told them they are the WORST Alterations business I have ever delt with. just picked up my motorcycle jacket that needed a new zipper. it's never easy finding someone to take on this. it's labor intensive for not much pay. they didn't have a large enough zipper in stock so one of the ladies went to other stores that might have it. she ended up having to special order. The zipper was great. Very heavy duty. It was a heavy jacket for her to work with but she made it all work for $55. read more
