Was about to drive on... But I decided to call and Farmer John was more than accommodating! It's a farm meets vineyard meets winery. Anyways, we called and Farmer John came and opened the gate for our two cars. We came in and parked next to the barn. He gave us the choice of tasting inside or outside - we chose outside. After the 15 minutes he needed to get ready, he rolled out with all the glasses and bottles required for a tasting for 5 adults. Most of the wines are fruit forward but we all really enjoyed that about them. They well blended. John also explained that he's not pressured to put out wines that he doesn't feel meet his standard. This is a passion for him. Great conversations followed. The kids all played around the grounds and even went to go meet the farm animals! We all bought 2 bottles (or more) each to cover our tasting. We have used them for our crab feeds for several years. We've had three different hall managers throughout that time, but Elijah has always been there and has always helped us out greatly! The one thing they need to work on is their beer taps. They have been an issue for many years. They are always very finicky and have foam issues. This, as you can imagine, is a huge issue when you are pouring for a fundraiser. Irritated guests makes for less money raised. I'm not sure how they need to fix it, but since it's been an issue for many years, something needs to be done. Besides that, our event last night, like many years past, ran smoothly.
