The facility is way above standards, super clean, very well organized and laid out. For the residents, everything they could dream of is here, including places for family to come and enjoy meals and visit with the resident family member, activity rooms, and so much more. My family has been in so many facilities over the years with so many nursing homes and VA facilities, and we had a great deal of interaction and experience with those facilities and staff. Most of the time the family feels out of place, like they do not belong or not welcomed there, like the feeling of "how soon can they leave," feeling from the staff. At Patriots Village, the feeling was extremely warm and inviting for our family and my father, who is moving in as a new resident within the week. It took only the 1 visit for him and our family to feel like we had an extended family on the spot. This is how a facility should feel to the members and staff - everyone is family - and the feeling is certainly there - every single staff member we interacted with. From the amazing rooms, meeting areas, meal room for family, dining areas, to the exercise/physical therapy areas, to the outstanding Barista. Everything Was wonderful and we can't get over how friendly and fun the staff are to be around. We felt so comfortable we didn't want to leave. If the other workers have to come in with a uniform on, and still looking professional, then that example should be being set by upper man. He moved to the Memory Care unit (MC) a few weeks ago and seems to be thriving in this new area. The level of care is different, but still great! I have no doubt my dad is in the best place for his needs. I would definitely recommend the Presbyterian Community. The only less than positive thing I can say is the facility is quite dated and is in need of being updated. But, the facility is safe, clean and appropriate.

I asked for help to locate her room and the staff was so friendly and helpful. It was wonderful to see how well taken care of the residents were. I noticed great effort was given to provide an atmosphere where the residents felt included in social events and activities. I was very impressed with the cleanliness of the facility and how well it was maintained. I was given a tour of the property and the grounds were very well kept. I saw leisurely activities the residents could take part in, as well as spaces for family members to come and celebrate with them. Afterwards, I ate at one of their cafe's and really enjoyed the lunch. Everywhere I went, the staff was so friendly. It had the feel of being home. If I had to refer someone to a nursing/residential facility, this would be the place.

(A good example happened today. A resident reported being (either positive for or a covid exposee. Quickly, a letter was published and delivered to all residences stating we are all (including staff) to be tested for Covid weekly. This afternoon, I received a phone message directing me to report to the health services for the test. Other (minute) problems have been dealt with quick and professionally. Is there enough to keep one occupied. Yes, if one is interested. Transportation to medical appointments or local shopping is available. The residents, on the whole, seem (to me) to be friendly, outgoing and caring individuals. Is it perfect here - of course not, but, IMO, it is certainly a cut above of other "independent living" facilities in this area. I recently had moved into another facility near here. Absolutely no comparison. When I was first looking for an independent living facility last July, I came across the website for Merrill Gardens. My only thought, at the time, was this place was so new, offered so much - that it was out of my price range, so I, to my regret, did no further price checking. (WHAT A MISTAKE). I wasted 4 months of my time. Are there negative points here. Of course, but they are minimal and easily foreshadowed by the positives. However, the negatives are, IMO, strictly personal. 1) The food, while quite good, is sometimes served lukewarm and 2) sometimes questions are answered differently depending on which member of staff is asked.
