For privacy reasons, I won't mention the reasons for my seeing her, but I will say I had been feeling "stuck" in my life and other methods of therapy weren't working, so I thought "might as well." She is the first and only hypnotherapist that I have seen, and I found her to be very effective in our work together. Her website is helpful in listing some things she treats- from anxiety to anger to hypnobirthing classes. I began by shooting her an email and discussing what I wanted to work on to make sure she was the right fit. I recommend reaching out sooner rather than later, as she fills up quickly. I had about a 4 wk wait to see her for my first time; then she gets you in regularly as needed. The office itself is comfortable and relaxing. There is plenty of street parking right out front. Kira is always prompt and professional, which I greatly appreciate. I would describe her style as warm, friendly, and caring. She has a calming voice, which I assume is pertinent to the profession. She is also direct and helpful, and she offers tools and recordings to utilize outside of session. I have found them to be useful. But again, it will depend on your reasons for seeing her, as I assume these things vary. Most importantly for me, I leave every session feeling like I learned something new about myself. That is a MUST for me in my journey. I found her prices to be competitive with others. The only downside to hypnotherapy is that insurance doesn't cover it. But on the bright side, you only go in for a few sessions so you're spending less in the long run. I think it's worth the investment. No doubt, Kira deserves 5 stars. The sessions themselves were relaxing and thoughtfully guided, and I always felt supported and respected during our time together. I truly wanted this to work -- but it simply did not produce results for me. I understand that hypnosis may work very well for some people. In the sound baths when I have been, there often between 7-15 people, you lay down on a comfy mat, they also have pillows, blankets and eye masks, there is a sofa so if you have a hard time on a mat that seems always open. Jenny explains what will happen, and creates a nice safe container. She settles you down with a guided meditation. The crystal bowls, the gong, chimes, and Jenny's singing are the best I have experienced in this line of work. Many feel great healing, or gain insight in to something they needed answers for, or super deep relaxation. Once we all come back from our little journeys, we sit up, and if we choose share with the group what it was like for us ;-) then always some yummy harvested from the garden tea, and something to tasty like dark chocolate.
