I ended up having to go to the office myself to pick up the referral, which again meant more time off work. I have also never actually seen Dr. Joanna Ayala. Patients are routinely scheduled with different nurse practitioners, and the provider seems to change frequently. The only provider I really liked was Hannah, but she is no longer there. Overall, the repeated issues with communication and coordination have been frustrating and costly.

Temecula Medical made several adjustments to their schedule to get me in quickly as I have cancer and other serious health concerns that require immediate and uninterrupted monitoring and care. I initially saw Tatiana and she could not have been more pleasant or patient as she listened intently to my long list of ailments. At the end of the appointment it was most impressive to see she had not missed or neglected to note even one of the many issues I'd spoken about, the ten plus referrals I needed, and a list of the medial items I need to maintain my relative health. I was listened to, all of my concerns were addressed and all referrals submitted before a day had passed. Truly above and beyond care for this extremely complicated and difficult cancer patient. I think the whole office had the best energy. I also found the waiting room spacious and relaxing with the abundant windows and light. Everyone had a smile on their faces and they let me stay well into their lunch period so I could take my time signing the many releases for information and finish what was needed. I can't imagine why they don't have five stars as I'd happily refer them to my best friends if asked. Thank you to Tatiana and the rest of the staff who welcomed me and gave me the time I needed to do what was critical for my healthcare. I look forward to continuing to work with them. His four member office staff seemed to be more interested in having me make an appointment than allowing me to simply purchase an item. I was told that they would have another staff member assist me, while making sure that I really understood that they were doing me a huge favor? I again asked if they sold equipment as in my 'request' for a needed hose. They stated they did, again indicating that their intended efforts were some sort of favor? By the way, the lobby was empty, and each of them appeared uninterested in assisting a customer while sitting at their desks. I waited for a short time, became more frustrated with their failure to help me secure a minor item, and left. I will secure this needed CPAP hose item through another competent vendor. She is so sweet and friendly and puts you at ease, there was a nurse there as well (I believe his name was Joel) who was also awesome. I loved the feeling of not being "judged" as I answered all the basic health questions. Dr. Matta has an excellent bedside disposition and calmly answered all my questions without making me feel rushed. She patiently listened to all my concerns without making me feel paranoid and ordered a full blood panel to check all my numbers. There is a lack of operational efficiency at every turn. Enough to warrant a poor review on Yelp which I hate doing but people....BE WARNED especially if you are expecting timely service while trying to address a health issue. Calling the office is an infinite hold queue that EASILY exceeds 30 minutes. I did my best to give the benefit of the doubt that it was just a busy day but I am now on my 5th attempt to contact this office and my hold time today exceed 41 minutes before I gave up. Our 1st telehealth appointment was confusing, Dr. Matta was late, then there were zero instructions on how to obtain scripts for labs. We weren't informed which lab the requests were sent to. Since you can't efficiently get ahold of anyone on the phone this required my husband to make an extra trip to drive across town to find out in person. Now let's chat about the Patient Portal where we messaged the Doctor on February 11th and the office did not return our call/message for A MONTH. 2nd appointment. Our $100 copay was conveniently collected but our appointment time came and went with zero communication from the office. I remained in a hold queue for 30 minutes, about to hang up when a text comes through with a Zoom link. Dinner is now cold, there is zero respect for patient time and I am expected to join this call as if I was not just completely inconvenienced at the cost of $100. At the end of the day we are all trying to navigate a broken system. Practices that have zero respect for patient time are not helping. I can't in good faith recommend this office with my recent experience that spanned over a few months.
