There are picnic tables and fire rings at every site, and there are several covered pavilions available. There's a small playground, and a few ponds stock with fish you can fish for. The Port-a-John's on site are very clean and well-maintained. The owners are very friendly and will go out of their way to help you with any needs. It's mostly an RV park, but they do have several tent sites available too. There is electricity at many of the sites, but there is no running water anywhere in the campground. That's really not much of a problem, though, as most of the guests are in RVs. Even if you aren't in an RV it's still not an issue, since if you are visiting Lava Hot Springs it's almost certainly for the pools and you can take your showers at the pools instead, like we did.

The grounds were fine, but the incident…read morethat occurred at Juniper Campground in Ririe, Idaho, on the evening of Saturday, September 13, 2025 left a very bitter taste in our mouths about the trip. What was intended to be a joyful family outing turned into a distressing experience due to the conduct of the camp host. My father-in-law and his wife had made a reservation at Juniper Campground for the weekend and invited my family to join them--myself, my two sons, and our grandchildren. We were all excited to spend quality time together and to try out our newly purchased travel trailers. As first-time trailer owners, this was meant to be a fun and educational experience before the camping season ended. Unfortunately, I had previously purchased concert tickets for an event at Mountain America Center in Idaho Falls scheduled for Saturday evening. My sons and I decided to briefly leave the campground to attend the concert and return afterward. We left in the early evening and returned around 10:20 PM. Upon arrival, we found the second entry gate--through which we had originally entered--locked with a padlock. We then drove to the first gate, which had rising arms and red LED lights, but it did not respond. I exited the vehicle to search for an intercom or manual override, but found none. While attempting to look up a contact number, a white truck with an orange cone in the back approached rapidly. The driver, who identified himself as the camp host, immediately confronted me in an aggressive and profane manner. He shouted, "What the hell are you doing at my gate?" I calmly explained that we were campers returning from a concert and were trying to re-enter the campground. He responded with hostility, saying, "The gates are locked at 10 PM. Didn't you read the rules?" I replied that we had not received any rules, as my 78-year-old father-in-law had checked in first and inadvertently failed to pass them along while we were focused on setting up our trailers. The host continued to berate me, accusing me of lying and using profanity such as "Bullsh*t, everybody receives the rules." When asked for our campsite number, I was momentarily unsure, as my father-in-law had directed us to our spot upon arrival. While I searched for the information, the host continued to question our motives, saying, "Why are you leaving and returning to the campsite this time of night?" I explained our concert plans, only to be met with further disbelief and ridicule. He mocked my Van Halen t-shirt and claimed, "Nobody goes camping to leave for a concert," and "Those bands sucked. The last time I saw Van Halen was in 1979." At this point, I attempted to clarify our situation, but the host warned me that if I raised my voice, he would not allow us back into the campground. After locating a screenshot of our reservation details, I showed it to him. He finally allowed us entry and handed me a printed copy of the rules, stating, "Next time, read the rules." This interaction left me feeling humiliated, belittled, and treated as though I were a criminal. The camp host's behavior was not only unprofessional but bordered on harassment. I understand the importance of rules and quiet hours, but they should be enforced with courtesy and respect--not hostility and profanity. I am deeply disappointed by this experience and will not be returning to Juniper Campground. I'm leaving this review to ensure others are aware of the treatment we received. Guests deserve to feel safe and welcomed--not intimidated or verbally abused.

The venue is clean and surprisingly not crowded!…read more I hesitated to do a review on this place as I'd like to keep it to myself and less traffic but on 2nd thought I was like wth...lol It is on the border of Idaho & Utah. Natural hot spring with multiple pools. It was not crowded at all and we did not have to walk far or fight the dirt road to get to like most hot spring. In fact it looked like any regular pools or spa but as you get close you can see the steam wafting up and as you dip your feet in the water it's "aaaaahhh" at first sigh... hehee I don't remember the cost but it was between $10-$20. There were plenty of free parking. They even have a locker and shower. I can't wait to go back when I'm on a road trip that way. Making plans already...heheh...

We had booked our site through the official website, fully under the impression that we were staying at a first-come, first-served site. Our first night went smoothly. However, things took an unexpected turn on the second day when we returned from the lake and were kindly informed by another group that they had reserved the same site. We were confused but respectful, and immediately began packing up to avoid any conflict. When the rest of our group arrived, we decided to clarify the situation with the camp host--a decision we quickly came to regret. Rather than offering an explanation or any semblance of professionalism, the host immediately told us, "Pack up or I'm calling the cops." This was said without listening to our concerns and while we were already in the process of packing. Moments later, he returned to our site and began yelling at us, escalating an already tense situation. We were stunned. Not only were we not given the basic courtesy of a conversation, but the host also made several false accusations--including that we hadn't paid for our second night, which was completely untrue. We tried to resolve the issue by offering the payment again in person, which he refused. In the end, we had no choice but to leave the money behind and vacate in a rush--so quickly, in fact, that our gear was packed haphazardly, and we fear some of our belongings may now be damaged. This experience left us not only disappointed but honestly hurt. We were treated with hostility, not as paying guests or even as fellow human beings seeking clarity in a confusing situation. Camping should be about community, nature, and peace--not intimidation and aggression. Due to the camp host's behavior and the complete lack of professionalism, we cannot recommend Paris Springs Campground to others. We hope future guests are treated with more respect and dignity than we were.

The upsides: This campground is surrounded by beautiful trees and greenery. There is fresh drinking water and lots of shade in the campsites. Each campsite has a fire pit and a large picnic table. The campground is next to a creek and is a short 300-yard hike from Paris Springs, a cool little spot to see. It's also about a 30 minute drive to Bear Lake's north shore. The downsides: Mosquitoes are present throughout the entire day. Bring lots of bug spray! The road to the campground is a 4-mile long dirt road which may get pretty rough in wet weather. Also, the bathrooms have pit toilets and do not have sinks or showers. We really enjoyed our stay here and would be glad to camp here again if we're in the area. I would recommend reserving your campsite online ahead of time to make sure you get a spot.
