I didn't get the name of the barista, but she was sweet, friendly, and someone I'd hire, if I was running a business. In fact, there was a very elderly gentleman there who appeared to possibly have some form of dementia. if not, he seemed a little confused. Appeared she knew him, but she was so kind to him. Unfortunately, the Cappuccino was a latte. So many coffee places advertised Cap's, but they put 8 to 12 oz of milk. A Cap has foam only or very little milk and mostly foam. In this way, you get a taste of the espresso, but its tempered. Plus, that's just what a Cap is. If I want a Latte, I'll order that. Taste was fine, had I ordered a Latte. Anyway, shout out for good service, and thus a 3 star. Maybe their other drinks are good.

There was a little children's boutique on half of the space, but you couldn't actually purchase from the boutique the majority of the time because Lava's wasn't affiliated. The space has been transitioned into a large children's play space with playhouses, toys, large indoor sandbox, and water tables. Once again, there's not affiliation with the play areas and Lava's. The playhouses and toys aren't blocked off, so it's difficult to keep children from playing with them while sitting at a table adjacent to a bunch of toys, but you can't play without paying, but there isn't anyone there to pay because the hours don't coincide. Therefore, you have Lava's employees scolding children for playing without paying, yet it's all open with easy access for kids, so that's frustrating. I'm also disappointed in Lava's staff and the lack of mask-wearing or gloving. I purchased a donut, and they took my cash payment and immediately grabbed the donut without washing hands in between handling cash, and they grabbed the donut with bare hands. I think the coffee is excellent, and it's a great space, but it's unfortunate that Lava's essentially got rid of their children's area and another small business owner is charging to use the area, but their hours don't align with the coffee shop.
