I walked into the salon today because my normal nail salon couldn't take me and I am in desperate need of a Mani pedi. After a few minutes I was directed to a chair that had a plastic liner and already had a little bit of water in the bottom. I was assured it was clean water so I sat down and put my feet in. I watched the tech next to me finish with the client to clearly had toenail fungus. She then proceeded to take the tools she used on this lady walk over to the sink run them under a stream of water and go on to the next client with those same tools. GROSS! Definitely a health code violation and absolutely not the place for me. read more

I came here with a friend because she really likes this place. I however, have never been more disappointed. At the time I was a lifeguard working 40 hours a week, and training in martial arts, so my heels were calloused, and I brought this up before the pedicure as I requested callous removal. Well the tech made a huge deal about my feet, showing me, my friend, and everyone in the salon the callous she scrubbed off, and continued making comments about it. Maybe we went in on an off day but my girlfriends and I went while I was visiting them on vacation. They didn't have a SINGLE pedicure listed on their "menu" except for Lavender Deluxe. My friend wanted Rosie Rose, Like water for chocolate and me the wine and roses. The nail tech I had was AWFUL and the other two weren't really that friendly either. I had to ask for water twice and my nail tech was really just fake - you could tell her smile was plastered on but that she was miserable. They only told one of us (the one that wanted Rosie rose) that she would be getting lavender and the rest of us just got lavender because they didn't have the supplies for any of the others that they offered. My nail tech said "we not order for a long time". Also, how all of ours ended up being $55 when it should've been $45, $55 and $55. So needless to say - we will NOT be back and it will not be recommended to others. We thought since it was recommended and in a nice strip plaza we would have a good time. Next time we will wait the extra hour to just try The Final Touch - there must be a reason they are busier than Lavender and I now know why. Completely unsatisfied. read more

Today I called this nail salon to see if they were opened and if so how much they charged for a gel pedicure. So I called the store, to ask and I couldn't quite hear her response so I asked her if she could repeat what she had said and she screamed on the phone and said $30. So I was a bit hesitant to go. But I went anyways because my mom wanted too. When I showed up to the salon there was only three people working and the front lady slapped the clipboard on the table and said sign your names in so I thought that was a 2 sign that it wasn't very welcoming. She then told me and mom to go to that lady to chairs and wait for someone to assist us but no one came. One of the 2 workers that was finishing up with someone else toes came over and said set I'll be right with you. She then started on my mom feet, as I was waiting for someone to assist me someone had called the store to see how long the wait was to a manicure and I know this because she had her on speaker and handed the phone the customer to answer for her because she also had problems hearing her. I thought that was rude but whatever the lady who was working on my mom then asked if my mom would like scrub and my mom said yes she said $5 dollars more making your total $55 for her gel pedicure, I stopped her and asked can you repeat yourself. She said $55 I told her I called and asked and they had told me $30 and I asked if I could talk to the lady in the front. The both looked at me and said you never called and that they would have never said $30 and no where in Tucson charges $30 for gel. At this point the customer service was horrible so I said fine, I will not get my pedicure down and they both looked at my angrily and it's okay you can leave. My mom was so shocked that they had said that, that we left. I will never come here again nor will I recommend this horrendous service to anyone else. read more

I have been here quite a few times over the last few years and the service has gotten worse and worse every single time. Especially by Tina. She used to be my favorite nail tech in town and now I am embarrassed to let anyone see my most recent set. I got my nails done on Wednesday and have lost a total of 5 nails since. And I'm not rough with my hands. They just fall off. It was a complete waste of money and even worse was having to deal with her atrocious attitude. NEVER AGAIN!!!!!! For all my lovely ladies located on the east side, this is the place to pamper your phalanges! Or as normal folk like to call them, your fingers and toes. This is by far my favorite nail salon not only for Tucson, but also the best in comparison to the long list of nail salons I've visited in other states. Why? Well, I'll tell you why! The thing I appreciate most is that the have a separate enclosed area for customers who are getting acrylics which means no harsh smell for the rest of us. I had acrylics for years so I dealt with it but now that I opt for gel polish instead, it's nice having the option to not be exposed to the acrylic dust and solvents. Second, every very sweet nail tech I have had at Lavender has been very skilled. I can be quite picky with how short my nails are cut and how thick my white french tips are painted but I have always walked away a happy (and well manicured) camper! Third, great pedicures! No fabulous pedicures! The add fresh mint and cucumber to the water, my foot bath is always the perfect temperature, they include wonderful leg and foot massages and use hot towels to clean off excess lotion from the rub down! Lavender Nail and Spa also offers free chilled water bottles to all their patrons and is a very very clean facility. What more could I ask for? Oh, well priced you say? Check. I've been going to Lavender Nail & Spa for a few years now. When they first opened was very clean and everyone seemed happy to be working there. Now the store is totally filthy, and its been getting worse and worse as time goes by. Along with the store being filthy, I've noticed they have been cutting corners as far as the extra items they use to give you the "spa" experience. For example: They put flowers in the water with your pedicure. I've noticed that they have been pulling them out and using them again for the next person. GROSS! I haven't gone for a pedicure since I saw that happen. Another reason it has been going downhill is because of the customer service. There is a man (I think he is the owner) that runs the show. He speaks great english, and is very nice. However, there is a woman that runs the front sometimes when he is not there (Tina I think her name is, but I will call her Snotty), well she is RUDE and it seems like she is talking about you behind your back all the time. She also will not talk to you unless she is taking your money. Also, there are security cameras and screens right when you walk in (that is so tacky), and the last time I came to get my eyebrows waxed Snotty had 2 sewing machines set up right at the entrance. Yup...sewing machines!! This is supposed to be a Spa? How are you going to relax and enjoy your pedicure when Snotty is sewing something? They are loud! It is a shame that I will not be returning because the women that do my nails, pedis and eyebrows are fantastic! They don't seem to be happy working there any more though. read more

This is one of the worst nail places I have ever been to. I have never been to feel so uncomfortable in my entire life. I took my friend and we were sat down next to each other which we were so excited because our fills is the only time we can catch up now. The two nail technicians were having entirely too much fun with each-other, laughing and speaking their native language the entire time. Now I have had this language barrier problem before but this was ridiculous! My friend and I sat in silence and let the ladies continue the conversation. My two nails peel'd the next day and was so uncomfortable I didn't even want to go back to have fixed. (I paid full price at another location to have mine removed and redone) I was given this place as a recommendation and will never return. Sad. read more

I hadn't been here in a very long time. Previously I had good experiences. This time I just wanted a basic mani. The entire time I was there the technician was trying to sell me other services. She was so persistent! I don't appreciate being badgered the whole time I am paying for a service that should be relaxing. She was also extremely rough on my nails/ cuticles. I should have left feeling pampered & relaxed. Instead I left feeling annoyed with my fingers looking like Id been cleaning all morning. I know everyone has a bad day and maybe that was the case, but I am not sure if I'll go back to this place. I understand promoting your services/ business but it is a nail salon, I think most people know what they want when they arrive! I love this place and recommend all my friends and family to go there. The owners are pleasant and I love their decor. I found out the husband is who decorated! What great taste. They always do a great job with my mani and pedi. And only $15 for an express pedi and $10 for an express mani, you can't beat it. Once in a while, I indulge by getting the spa mani & pedi - - but I like to get designs ($5 extra) once in a while, or get that french ($5 extra). Much more memorable when I can see the difference. I love that there is a separate room for acrylic so that those wanting just a pedicure do not have to inhale the fumes. The pedicures are great but the cost for a full pedicure is expensive. The $25 specials only include cuticle cutting, foot spa and polish. For callus removal and sea salt you pay $35. There are other nail salons in town that offer it all for $25 and do just as well. Recently I had a gel manicure and was not happy with the result. The polish was not close to my cuticle so it looked as if it were done weeks ago. The woman only put two coats of polish on when clearly that particular polish needed more coats; it had many streaks. I left unsatisfied but in a hurry to pick up my daughter. The next day I went back and let the woman know I didn't like it. While she continued to insist it was not her fault and said it looked normal I finally just asked to have it taken off and to choose another color. The entire time this woman did my manicure for the second time it was obvious that the entire shop was talking about it. Each lady casually came over to my table and, in another language, talked and giggled as they looked down at the new manicure I was receiving. For some reason I had become the topic of conversation. I was not impressed with the second manicure but could not wait to get out of there. I will never return and I would not recommend this place. read more

I went in with a simple request of having my nails painted a light lavender purple. After telling the woman doing my nails 3 times what color I wanted, she did not listen to me and painted my nails how she wanted. I had no say in what I wanted for my nails, not to add that I had an appointment scheduled and was stuck waiting for an hour until my nails were touched. My station was not sanitized and I was given a towel I saw used on the customer before me's feet. I highly recommend NOT coming here for you will not be listened to and treated poorly when asking for what you want. I was also made fun of amongst the staff members when I asked for the price of dip nails, and was repeatedly mocked. I was left in an uncomfortable situation where I was clearly being talked about and not listened to. Messed up on shellac ( which is not really shellac) and when I went to have it fixed they were rude. They were obviously talking about me rudely in another language so I wouldn't know. It's not my fault my nails looked bad. They were streaky and had a big gap between my nail and cuticle. I nicely asked to have them fixed. I just have to say that I'm always the happiest with my nails when I come to Lavender. They just always get the length and shape right. All of them are really nice and they usually have a little freebie during the week for pedis, like a free sugar scrub or free paraffin treatment. I have lived in various places for the past 4 years- 5 to be exact- and get regular mani's and pedi's (I average about every 3 weeks). This is by far the best place i have ever been to not only in Tucson, but in all of the US! I know this may be a stretch, but I enjoy every moment I am in here. It is a great experience. They run specials and for $30 you can get a great pedi with wax and 2 massages (with warm lotion). I enjoy how they pay attention to the details in this salon. Customer service is just fine- they will speak and make conversation with you...and have water and candies available, too. The place is very clean, nicely decorated, and everyone has their organized stations. I tip these ladies well and every time get great customer service. Some things to know before going into this salon (although none of these items would ever stop me from going here!) : 1) They only like cash. There is a free-fee ATM in the salon, though. They will accept credit card but they will always ask for cash, first. 2) They do like to push additional services on you. I, however, don't mind this since they do such a great job (eyebrow waxing and facials mainly). If you politely say no, they generally leave you alone. I have gotten the facial a handful of times and compared to other times I have been elsewhere, it's very comparable to what you would get at a Massage Envy type place. 3) The gentleman who owns the shop can be a bit abrasive, but I am unsure if he understands/speaks alot of English. This place was decent at best. I SCHEDULED 4 pedicures and 4 full sets and when we arrived they were clearly busy so had an open mind about the wait. We only had to wait about maybe 15 minutes to get sat for our pedicures. But then I had to wait so long for someone to be free my water was cold by the time someone got to me. And the pedicure it self was short and not well done. And I was waiting for 2 1/2 hours and all I've gotten done was my toes and my toes took about 30-45 minutes to do. 2 hours. For just my toes to be done. That's insane. I watched as many walk ins got to come in and get serviced as I was literally sitting and waiting to get my nails done. And on top of all of this the lady who put my shoes back on was very hard with it like shoved my legs into my shoe and shoved them away. The same lady also threw away someone else's used cotton ball into my tub as I was still sitting there. 10/10 would not recommend this place to anyone. If you can wait a day or two go to infinity nail by Safeway in Rita ranch. I've never had an issue with them! Definitely not this place. read more

I am in love with this place. I waited to give a review because I wanted to go back again to make sure it wasn't a one hit wonder. The inside is clean, comfortable, and plays great music in the background. Its not all fancy like the spas on the north side of town but the service it 10x better. I went in and the ladies offer you bottles of water, help you in the chair, put the massage chair on and adjust it for you, flower pedals in your spa water, its truly a relaxing experience. Debbie did my toes and she was fantastic. She took her time, gave a great leg massage, the wrap your feet in hot towels, always checks to make sure you are comfortable and she is super nice. I decided on silver sparkles on my toes and she recommended putting white down then the sparkles to make it pop. She was right! With in a couple days I already received 3 compliments. They also do other services like waxing and facials. I have only done the waxing. I was nervous because last time I went somewhere they burned my skin by my eyebrows. But Debbie made sure the wax was the perfect temp and applied a cool cloth to help with the redness. It was as painless as ripping hair out can be. I went to Lavender Nails in Tucson to have a fill and gel nail polish to my acrylic nails. I was excited I was able to get in right away and at a great price of 30.00. Jenny, a young gal, did the work. She did not talk much nor asked me what shape I wanted, just what color did I pick. I guess she assumed I wanted the same shape. Which I didn't. She kept looking at her cell while working. I could tell she was in some hurry. She did not let the gel lamp turn off before she said to change hands. Well, to my regret, two days later a nail started chipping. By the end of the week several nails were chipped. I am so disappointed. I will not be returning nor will I recommend this salon. I know all ladies that work at nail salons talk crap about their customers, but this is seriously the worst. They were very obvious and pointing and laughing, it wasn't hard to tell they were making fun of their customers. The pedicure was average and impersonal, no conversation whatsoever besides the ones they were having among themselves. The lady who was at the cash register bumped up the price because she saw my sister pull out more money than we needed to pay. Then they got annoyed because we used all our cash to pay for the price she bumped up and had no more cash for a tip. Was VERY disappointed in how this nail salon nickle and dimes you to death! I went in for a $15 fill and ended up paying $28!!! Most PROFESSIONAL salons include the nail polish, etc. This place charges you for everything!!! I guess if I would have paid extra I would have received an English speaking nail tech - the poor girl could barely speak English! I am done with these types of salons - I am going to pay that extra $$ for a professional, English speaking nail tech! i have been going for a while now and will never return. I was sitting waiting to see Julie who normally does my nails. She called me over when Tina (manager? Owner?) told her to stop and do the feet of someone else and looked and me and said I had not waited long enough and to wait another half hour, nice and rudely in front of the other customers. When I said I was waiting patiently and julie called me over and what she just said to me was rude she then says I now have to wait an hour. Which was more rude. So my response was I will not wait, I will not return. If this is how a customer who has always tipped well and faithfully there every two weeks is treated I highly recommend no one patronize this business read more
