The main play area with the tree house rock wall

This park is AMAZING!! They have a little bit of everything for families with different needs! From picnic tables, both individual and covered group seating, to grassy areas you can sprawl on in and lots to see and do. The bathrooms have baby changing tables too. The first part of the park is an RV Park area, but there aren't a huge amount of spaces, and you need to reserve in advance. The first structures of the park are the showers and a small playzone, leading towards more green space and picnic table areas. The middle section is a big structured picnic table area with a huge fireplace, available first come first serve OR reservations to secure it. After that is the main playground for kids, with a lil zipline, a few swings, a rock climbing wall & tree house & other awesome play features. There is a very strong flowing creek that is deep in places so only good for strong swimmers and older kids. However they also have a wonderful man made splash creek near the playground for lil tykes to play in without fear of drowning but definitely needs supervision. My only complaint about it is the rough edges but kids are gonna get scrapes anyway. There are paths thru the park that are great a d all along the creek. There is a splash pad that will be turned on as the weather gets better too. They also have a fire pit but I think you need to reserve that in advance to get it to work. Because this is an overnight park for the RVs I didn't see any typical hours of closure. They just implemented a parking fee to help with the maintenance of the park too. Definitely an amazing way to spend a weekend and I encourage all families & friends to get out and enjoy it.

This park is on the north end of Lyons, right before the turn off to the town of Estes Park. Formerly known as "Meadows Park" . This park was named after Lavern Johnson, who was a lifelong citizen and civil servant for the town of Lyons, having served on the towns board of trustees. After the great flood of 2013 that almost washed away the park (and that of almost the whole town) the park was rebuilt and renamed in her honor. The park is huge with prominent mountains in the background and pavilions and playgrounds in front. The parking lot is huge and also accommodates RVs but is not free and parking can be purchased at one of the self serve kiosks at either end. Parks rules state that once the parking lot is full, the park is at capacity. This park also offers camping sites that can also be purchased for a limited time.

When we checked in, they modified our site to a better site that would give us some distance from other campers. It's nice to be able to spread out a little bit as it's not full season here yet. Site was very level, new picnic table and grassy area. The clubhouse is AMAZING- it's the best clubhouse we've ever seen in any campground. Just wow. Tons of comfy seating, indoor and outdoor seating; firepit, hanging chairs etc. there is a little kids playroom, a table gaming machine and a nice tv/couch area. If you were traveling as a group- this would be a super nice setup for gatherings. There is also a small outdoor playground and of course; a big wooden gopher. They have laundry facilities (we were on east side) and there were two big washers and dryers ($2 load / quarters). There is also very nice shower facilities in this clubhouse. There is a little library, a 'dog stick library lol- they even have a small basketball goal setup for the kids. You're about 30 minutes straight north of Denver on 25- make sure to take the time to go into the historic District of Longmont, what a great little area with tons of restaurants, bars, and shopping. We saw a notice on the clubhouse that sometimes they have food trucks come in too We paid about $75/night that included taxes.

The staff is very accommodating and friendly. There is a beautiful club house available to use with a big screen tv, kitchen , play room for the kids, and lounge area. I never received a confirmation so I had to look for another place to spend the night. The next day at 2pm I received a confirmation but the reservation was for the night before. I ended up never making it there. I was charged for the night I've trying multiple times to contact the place with no luck. So I'll be disputing the charge with my bank. Never had an issue like this before with an rv place stay away and save yourself a headache.

9/10/2018 The worst RV park I've ever stayed at!!…read more Spent a month here due to a lack of park availability in the Denver area. $900/mo. and limited to one month in a calendar year, thank goodness... Leaky frost free hydrant(duct taped to slow the leaks) water source was so powerful that they blew out my Class C motor-homes water line causing a flood and a $250 electrical short to my Converter which killed my AC unit and Sound system, even though I installed a pressure reducer. I asked the manager about the water pressure issue and she said, she know nothing about RVs and she just collected the rent for the spaces.. Someone else owns the park. The ground was so lumpy in the sites that it took an hour to even get close to level. Never got completely level the whole stay. 50 AMP only, had to buy a 30-50 AMP adapter $20 in Boulder , 30 minutes west before I could get power, so...one day with out sewer or electric. Basically I dry camped for one night and was charged $30!! In addition the sewer line was buried under rocks so I had no idea where to drop my sewer line. The maintenance man Matt came over and helped, the only real help I got. The manager which was only avail by phone, and once in the local, liquor store. There is no dumpster for trash..... and my voice mail questions to the manager regarding trash went unanswered even after the ridiculous price I paid. I noticed that a tenant that vacated just left his bags of trash at his site, after a few days the animals began ripping into it and it blew all around the area :( This place sucks...plain and simple!! Being gouged $900 for a 30 day limit for a lumpy piece of ground is a rip off!! The only positive about this place is that utilities were included :( Photo of Pikes Peak Rv Park - Manitou Springs, CO, United States. When there was a no show, they came to us and asked if we would want to move to a better spot. This place is hardly a dump like the one review states. This is a new place and still shaping up the place to make it an awesome place. The rv sites are super nice and level. There is no shade trees in the rv area. There is an access road by the facility but not too busy. They are right across the street from a river rafting company and a zip line spot and a running river. It is not a dangerous campground like the negative reviewer states. Showers are clean and really nice. Clean restrooms and the store area is shaping up nicely. This place will be so cool once done.
