What Utopian way to spend your day with your partner in crime, than Sandstone Park? Starry-eyed, I felt just a chemistry with this wonderful find; this magical park. Sandstone Park is hidden far, far away from the city folks. Beekeepers sell their local honey across the street, small restaurants, and a miniature amphitheater! There are still festive Christmas lights shining on all the trees! This amorous park has a small library across the street and home to many retired senior citizens. There are retirement homes nearby; perfect to retire I'd say. Historically a sandstone quarrying town, today Lyons is known for its art, music and Sandstone has 2 murals that were displayed in 2003. There are memorials everywhere in memory of a wonderful man named Wayne Werner. The Lyon's "Town Watchman." The live music events take place in the miniature amphitheater, free of cost and ideal for the summer in Lyons. The air is warm, the creek's flowing, and music is playin' at Sandstone. Sandstone Park and Lyon's CO is definitely intimate and potential bonding.

They also had more affordable options than Estes Park. It is a small town with a population of around 2,000. I enjoyed taking some time to explore Lyons during my brief visit here. The town of Lyons has a lot of cool-looking historic buildings. Many of the restaurants and stores are all within walking distance in the downtown area. I was able to do some shopping at the local grocery store because my hotel had a kitchen. For coffee, I spent time at Barking Dog Cafe. The coffee is smooth and the customer service was great. For food and drinks, I recommend MainStage Brewing. They specialize in pizza and good beer and have a vibrant outdoor patio area. All of these places are located on the main road through town. The Lyons Redstone Museum is free and open to the public on a donation basis if you want to learn more about the history of this town. It is housed in the town's school house. The Rockygrass Bluegrass festival and the Folks Festival folk music festival are two annual music festivals held at their outdoor venue called Planet Bluegrass. Lyons is a great place to stay if you love outdoor recreation activities like camping, hiking, fishing and whitewater kayaking.

We came here during our peak to peak scenic byway drive, and figured that this town was only 30 minutes away. It was absolutely the emporium of small town! Beekeepers were spotted with local "bee-farming," and local honey for sale. Most shops were simple, supported by the community and seem to be all the rage in honey!! This community is friendly to senior citizens, because we saw lots of senior citizen friendly neighborhoods. One of them, were actually located across the street from Sandstone Park, and Lyons Depot Library. Those are two spots that make wonderful activities for anyone. We saw also lots of friendly looking people, who waved back and smiled often. It seems everyone built a foundation of friendship and familiarity here.

I've gone to several different daycares in several states traveling and moving with my dogs. I have never been asked for a 50$ deposit to spend 15 mins evaluating if my mutts can handle other mutts. After politely informing them to remove my dogs from their roster the owner flew off the handle over email accusing me of an angry response. Hard to say it's angry when it's two sentences and begins and ends with "thank you". I would honestly worry about my dogs or any dogs with people who obviously have some serious issues. The email is here for anyone wanting to read such nonsense. I strongly discourage anyone from this location. The owner seems to have issues. What I originally sent: "Thanks but you can remove my pups. 25$ per dog just to meet and greet is ridiculous. I'll look for services elsewhere. Ty The owner, Justine Bennett's, unhinged response: "It's a DEPOSIT because often people make an appointment but don't show, and because we are a small, dog forward and conscientious business and I will need to schedule extra staff to cover while I, or my trainer assess your dog, it's necessary. But again, it's a DEPOSIT that would be returned to you should it not be a good fit, OR it is applied to any of the services we offer but thank you for your angry and unwarranted response about it being RIDICULOUS. We will absolutely remove you and your pups. Thanks!"

Adam arrived early with a big smile on his face and off we went. We fished the tail water of the Big Thompson and the best part of it all was that we caught fish! One thing I have to mention is that Adam even went out of his way and picked me up from our rental cabin so my wife wouldn't be without a car while we were out fishing...Who does that??? The tour lasted a little over 4 hours and is considered a half-day experience. Our guide, Aaron, was awesome! He is super friendly, funny, and full of great info about Denver and its history. Pickup was right in front of Union Station, and the tour started right on time (a few people in our group were running behind, of course haha). We made several stops along the way, and every single one had amazing views. We even got to see some wildlife: bighorn rams, elk, and a fox! Aaron was great about pulling over so everyone could grab photos whenever we spotted something cool. There were about 11 of us in total, which made it feel like a nice small group instead of a big crowded tour. It was our first time exploring the Rocky Mountains, and we're so glad we chose Aspire Tours. I would definitely recommend them...and don't forget to tip your guide.

The day started at union station and for awhile did not know if the guide was going to show up…read more When time came, two guides popped out, split people into two group and led us to the van. PRO TIP: try avoiding the most back row if you have long legs or any stress with mobility. Because once you sit there, the seat is assigned and you will have to deal with being cramped in a tighter space. And you basically are always the last one to get off. This was one of the biggest cons. Moving on, the tour itself was great. We stopped by a cafe on the way to and back, for food and bathroom breaks, and pretty soon, the van took us to the Rocky Mountain with beautiful views and even saw many wildlife - the big horn sheep, elk, deer (i think), and, not to forget, smaller animals like birds, mouse, and chipmunks, but no moose spotted. Nonetheless, the breathtaking view of the Rockies is certainly worth the journey. The guide was very knowledgeable about trees and shared many stories about the places and tips for visiting Denver in general! She also took us to a few Native American owed stores that featured indigenous art that were very cool to see. One thing to note is that I think the Colorado Sightseer, the tour company, had listed at least two slightly different itineraries, and I might have been sent to the one I did not pick. I noticed because I intentionally picked the tour with visits to two visitor centers, vs the one I went on only took us to Beaver Meadows. Not a big deal bc I did get still get my stamp, and the tour used most of the day's time efficiently by visiting many attractions. But this might be something you want to make sure if the stops matter a lot to you. Nonetheless, with a group tour, it is understandable and expected for the itinerary to potentially change. For instance, the day I went, the tour guide actually too us to visit places in different order to avoid crowds. Another thing to really appreciate is that the tour provided some snacks, extra gloves/beanies, which were really a lifesaver in the cold mountains. I know I was not fully prepared for it and so glad I could borrower some!
