There are lots of trees and gorgeous views of various mountain peaks. This is around 50-55 minutes from my house (or more depending on traffic). This is a county owned park, so you either need a larimer county park pass. Or there is a $9 fee you can pay upon entering if you dont have that. The park is well maintained. There are trash cans at the trail head. Also cared for bathrooms. There is more than kruger rock trail in the park. There is also saddleback and limber trail as well. Kruger is most well known and also tends to be the busiest. The trails are clearly marked and very user friendly. Dogs are allowed here BUT they need to be leashed ;) This is a really nice area to head to when you want to go into estes but dont necessarily want to deal with the crowds of rocky mountain national park. They do close for a few months in the winter. They actually just reopened i believe march 1 for the season so just be aware depending on the time of year you are wanting to go. Current trail conditions as of today were snowy and dry on parts. if you keep going past kruger onto the limber trail on the other side of kruger then you start getting into some deeper snow and snowshoes may be advised. We did about a mile that way and then opted to turn back around. Because the first 2.5 miles were not like that we had opted to not tow our snowshoes with us though we did pack them in the car.

It gains about 900 feet in elevation but never feels really strenuous. Last weekend there was snow on the trail, but it was well marked and easy to follow up to the top. When you make it to the end of trail, make sure to climb to the very top of the rocks. You have to do a little bit of scrambling to get there, but the views are so worth it! You get a fantastic look at Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National Park. The location is great, just a couple of miles away from Estes Park, which is a fun place to stop after you hike. Our group (plus 2 doggies) had a great morning hiking Kruger rock, and would definitely bring other friends and family to check it out.

Dripping Springs was a wonderful place to stay and felt just like home…read more There was a river right outside our back door, and a great big area to play catch/have a campfire/sit and have a picnic, etc. The rooms were all very nicely decorated and maintained, and even the pullout couch was comfortable to sleep on! There were some essentials like coffee and sugar already stocked in the cupboards and a nice gift bag for each guest when we arrived. We had a big front porch overlooking a covered driveway for our car and a hot tub in the back yard too! All in all, this place was wonderful, and very close to Estes Park shops and Rocky Mountain National Park.

The owners were AMAZINGLY hospitable and were quick to help with any questions or recommendations in the area. Overall, our experience was significantly positive and we look forward to staying there again in the future!

I've stayed in cabins with private hot tubs that were not hot at all because the owners were too cheap to turn the heat up. Not the case here. The hot tub was perfect! The grounds are well kept and the stairs leading to the river were NOT steep, the steps were even and easy to maneuver and the deck at the bottom of the stairs provides a nice place to sit and visit. The wild flowers growing around the property are beautiful. The owners were so friendly, welcoming and personable. The only draw backs re the location right next to the highway because it is noisy, especially for those cabins right next to the road, and parking is a bit tight. But overall, We had a wonderful time and will definitely be back for another long weekend.

We drove thirty minutes to boulder and she had the alpine massage which she raved about and loved but I had the mountain lavender massage and it was average at best. We had called the day prior to reserve the crystal mat for me and when I arrived they didn't have it. The lady doing my massage went out from the room, went to talk to some people and then came back and told me it was "in use". She then said she'd add on hot stones at no charge. They also cut my massage short as a result of it and yes we were about 4-5 minutes late but they were a bit disorganized. I paid for a 50 minute and really only got about a 30-35 minute and it wasn't all my fault. My therapist was alright but flustered and didn't ask me about pressure etc. It felt very rushed and I wasn't relaxed so for the price I paid I was honestly was pretty unhappy about it. Facilities were nice though- there is a sauna and steam room and you do get to use the hotel jacuzzi and pool. Again, to that add however the facilities were being taken up by a large bridal shower group and they were using all of the two personal change rooms and get ready space. It was very inconvenient to say the least and for someone paying, it felt like I was overlooked and maybe even a little in the way. I wouldn't be back based on the experience, for such a high end price tag I really felt service and experience would have been better. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend either.

Outdoors, the twin heated pools are beautiful, and the outdoor fire pit area makes for a really nice spot to unwind in the evening.  Unfortunately, the hospitality side was a letdown. Overall, the staff wasn't overly friendly, but the main issue was at the bar and restaurant. After sitting ignored for 15 minutes while the bartenders simply stood at the end of the bar, I finally took the hint and just left. You also can't order anything but pizza after a certain time that's not listed anywhere. It's a lovely location with great physical amenities, but management definitely needs to address the lack of attentive service in the bar area for some guests.

The best part of my stay was the service - they were very friendly and accommodating because part of my stay was personal and part was for business and they allowed me to add a few days in the same room and a late check out. The main reason I choose the Omni Interlocken was that it's a few minutes walk to my company's office and they offered a corporate rate. I thought the rooms were good quality, nice bathroom, but I wouldn't say it was a very top end hotel. Just a few things that brought it out of that category such as a broken light at the elevator, a patio without a screen and maybe not quite as clean as a meticulous hotel would be. The lobby is nice and the bison tapestry is quite beautiful and belongs in a museum. I thought that Sheps was just average and there's a lobby store if you need basic supplies. There's a large mall nearby and a few good restaurants in the area according to Yelp. Boulder is about 20 minutes away and downtown Denver maybe 25-30 minutes depending on traffic.

Annie's Mountain Retreat caters to couples only, so it sounded perfect for my boyfriend and I. We had been so stressed lately and needed a quiet getaway. We stayed at the romantic cottage, which is the smallest one but obviously the most romantic. I can't even begin to explain how welcoming Annie is! There was a big snowstorm on our first day (thank God my boyfriend has a truck haha) and Annie called to make sure we were doing ok, as well as to let us know that the snow would be shoveled for us at our arrival. The place has a charming cabin feel without being overbearing. Even better, the romantic cottage exterior looks like a european cottage and has a cute banner saying "and they lived happily ever after." So romantic! The kitchen has all the appliances and utensils you can ever need, plus pantry items like flour and sugar. Check out their website for more details. Probably the best part of the place is the deck!
