If I could give zero stars I would. Never personally met the owner but everything said about her is true. The rules. Omg. The rules. "If there are cigarette buts or dog poo in your spot, you have to clean it up (even if it isn't yours, let the manager know about it); (you have to weed your spot or it's a 50 dollar fine); (3mph in the park) are you kidding?! I understand going slow for kids and out of respect but come on. Their one "building" is a 12 wide with horrible washers and dryers. Their gate sucks. You have to click their remote like 5 times to leave or enter the place. The rules are ridiculous. She rules with an iron fist. Like someone else already said, she gives women in leadership a bad name. To be fair, I didn't expect my deposit back but I did get it back. 3 weeks later. When I did get it back, I got charged with processing fees. Again! What business takes 3 weeks to get your deposit and unused rent back? No park I've ever stayed at. You'd have better luck staying at the fairgrounds with no amenities. It's basically the same thing. Oh the kids. You get charged 100 dollars for anything after two adults. The dog parks? Half of them the trailers next to them have them fenced off. You can't use them. The garbage? You can only throw one bag away a day. More? You get fined. I'm convinced the only good reviews are friends and family. Ridiculous. This park just sucks. I rarely leave a review unless it's a good one but this place deserves it. WILL NEVER GO BACK.

I lived at Barr Lake RV Park for more than 2 years. The management is terrible and non existent. Kathy has worked and lived there for many years. She is very helpful nice lady who has been completely shutdown by the manager I can't remember his name now but who never goes to visit to see what is actually happening at the park. Sandy is a newer lady that they hired and she is a worthless disgusting alcoholic nasty lady. She also lives on site and they both hate each other so you can imagine that drama. About a year ago they had all residents sign some ridiculous "rules" paper that was never enforced. It had rules like you can't have trash outside of your RV and you can't work on your vehicles and so on. The WiFi doesn't reach all the trailers. There's about 99 spots total. The majority of people here are long term which is the only thing I liked about the park is how long you can stay. The maintenance man Craig also lives on site and frequently visits Sandy to drink throughout the day when he is supposed to be working. The bathrooms were disgusting until they remodeled them about a year ago. People still don't flush the toilets with poop it's quite disgusting. The only reason why I used the bathroom was for the shower not the toilet to use the hot water. I saw a review about them having a sandbox near the playground that's about to fall over. No no it's more like cat litter. Please don't let your children play in that nasty thing. The owner should fire the manager he is very rude on the phone and cares nothing about the park. A lot of violence happened there to include shootings and theft of motorcycles and trailers.

Amazing campground in the middle of the mountains…read more We took a chance on this spot and we were lucky enough to snag the last campsite on a Friday at 2pm. Sometimes trips are hard to plan in advance, and we were ISO a spot with first come, first serve sites. Kudos to the universe for allowing the stars to align in our favor! + Along the Middle St. Vrain Creek + Two vault toilets located centrally between campsites + One fire ring (with grates) per site + Firewood available on property for $9 + Sizable tent pad, bear locker and picnic table + Walking distance to trailhead + Reservable and non-reservable campsites + 8 people allowed per campsite + Pets allowed We had an extremely enjoyable camping trip a few weeks back. Roughly an hour and a half from our house in Denver, Peaceful Valley Campground made us feel like we were thousands of miles away from civilization. For reference, the campground is about 8 miles away from the ever-popular Brainard Lake Recreation Area. We did experience some rain on Saturday afternoon which was a damper (pun intended). But because of that rain we were treated to the most spectacular rainbow and sunset. It was magical, just look at the pictures I got. The consensus was that we'd come back in a heartbeat next year. There's nothing better than going to sleep at night with the sound of a vibrant creek in the background. We're creekside campers and Peaceful Valley delivered an A+ trip for us!

Ahhh campgrounds! This is a little gem, down the Peak to…read morePeak highway sitting on the Ceran St Vrain river! Pros: River - it is the best white noise maker around! Tent pad - flat, level, "smooth", easy to get the stakes in, also have built in uhooks Paved roads 2 bathrooms Right at the trail head for the Middle Ceran St Vrain trail Cons: Fire Ring - it's about 6 inches tall... kinda hard to cook on Tent Pad - Most of the sites the same set up and really only good for 1 tent, great if you only have 1 tent! There is an ATV road between this campground and the next and that is all that is on this road, so some annoying quad noise, but you can't zoom around the campground, only to and from your site and wherever you had been. DAMP - super wet and moist... not sure if it was the time of year or what, but it was damp and humid! All in all this was a great place to camp. We hate site number 7 which was right on the entrance to the campground (total of 17 sites), but we were between a bridge with narrow wheel markers so everyone had to go slow, the river and the camp hosts - ahhhh silence is golden! The other sites in the middle were weirdly on top of one another. Careful when you book them, look at the site map! The culdesac was pretty nice but again there was a case where 2 sites were on top of one another and one couple has a couple kids - that would have been a nightmare for me! The center of the culdesac sites 1-4 were pretty good. Camp hosts were an adorable couple from texas, super friendly and helpful, but not busy bodies and into your business! I would like to try this campground again just for the other trails that you could get to right from your camp ground and figure out the best time to avoid the rain and dampness!
