Laverne's is slice of Americana, harkening back to simpler times. The atmosphere is right out a Norman Rockwell painting, with locals enjoying an afternoon chat. Now, I've had lunch here, and I will say that my stuffed chicken breast was fine, but it was slightly on the salty side, which makes lean more towards their breakfast selection. I've always been happy with Laverne's Place's breakfast, finding their egg preparation to be a clucking delicious chicken extravaganza. I stopped here one time about 6 years ago and the waiter. I believe his name was John tried to make me smoke crack with him. I refused his kind offer but then he asked me for money for crack in exchange for unsavory favors. I'm just absolutely appalled that something like this could happen in such a small town and it's highly unlikely that I will be returning any time soon! read more

But sometimes we do get the urge to go out for dinner or we are hungry and want to make a stop for dinner on the way home, Laverne's is always our #1 choice! best place to sit down and eat. Prices are so reasonable. Me and my 5yr.old ate dinner there tonight. We both had hot roast beef sandwiches covered in gravy along with french fries and he had a ice cream cone. It came to $10 AND SOME CHANGE. You can't beat the prices, that's for sure. The bacon double cheeseburger wasn't greasy, the cheese sticks were good, the meat sauce for the chicken parmesan was tasty, and the gravy served with the hot beef was excellent. Laverne's is the only restaurant that I know of in town. The prices are very cheap compared to similar places elsewhere. In fact, I haven't seen prices like this in a while. The food is average. It's won't win any awards any time soon but it's not bad either. It's just good american home cooking. If you're expecting anything different this is the wrong place for you. With that said I can't say I'll be coming back anytime soon. read more

Used to love this place. Have good food at very reasonable prices. Tonight was my last visit. While customer service is normally good tonight the 2 girls were too busy talking to a guy at the counter to concern themselves with waiting on customers (which I assume is their job). Waited 10 minutes while they served 2 tables their food and talked to a man at the counter. Never even once did they come to the table we were at. No menu's, No nothing. 8 tables in their dining room were not cleaned, leaving only 1 regular table available after we seated. Someone really needs to examine their employee work habits. On my way out interupted them to thank them for their great service. One replied " I thought you were being taken care of" and the 2 girls and the gentleman involved had a good laugh as paying customers walked out the door. Never going back! read more
