This is a well-established diner - it's been around for over 50 years at this point. And since it's as old and well known as it is, that means it's popular. So the larger your group is, the harder it will be for you to get a table. Parking can get tricky too. My own gaggle of friends has learned to carpool, and we accept that we won't always be seated directly together. Like any good diner, Dog House's menu has plenty of breakfast options, along with burgers and sandwiches. The menu is simple but solid, and the prices are reasonable. The French toast is my bestie's favorite, and I can confirm that their burgers and Belgian waffle are also quite good. Most recently I ordered the Chicken & Waffles; it was tasty, but I admittedly wish it came with more syrup. Also wouldn't have been upset if it came with one more tender since they were on the smaller side. The staff are very nice and they clearly work as quickly as possible. Of course, their speed is always dependent on how busy the diner is overall. I'll echo other reviewers saying that if you go in expecting to eat at a small town diner, you won't be disappointed. And my recommendation is to order a breakfast item or a burger to get the whole small town diner experience!

The gravy and biscuits was really good, I was surprised at how good the eggs the g & b laid on were!! Good for a group or just a date, nice variety of food. A vibe that won't disappoint.

This place is seat yourself. Once sat a waitress came up right away asking about drinks. After drinks were bought she gave us a fee more minutes to think about food. I ordered their sausage egg n cheese on a pretzel bun (extra $) with home fries extra crispy. I enjoyed my sandwich I do wish the bun was warm though. My fiancé did not really like his meal. He mentioned his french toast was ok and the biscuit that he got was really dry.

Good food and super friendly staff. The desserts were good, especially the gob cake. We will be back to try the breakfast menu.

I love local diners where local merchants can advertise right on the table

I stopped in for breakfast and glad I did. The waitress arrived very quickly and brought coffee and took my order. I ordered and received pancakes, crispy bacon, and crispy hash browns exactly the way I like them! The bacon was delicious as well as the hash browns! the pancakes were large and very good too! I enjoyed the space between tables and lively environment. I recommend you stop in!

Really solid breakfast choice with very good food and excellent prices. The hash browns are as good as you can get. The wait staff is hardworking and personable. We were seated and served quickly, even though they were busy. Lots of menu choices. Parking lot is spacious. Great for breakfast!

A Hidden Gem in Washington, PA!…read more The Washington Brewing Company is the real deal! You can absolutely taste the love in every beer--they clearly take pride in their craft. Each brew we tried was smooth, flavorful, and uniquely their own. We shared a few appetizers and every bite was fantastic, but the fried zucchini sticks were the standout--crispy, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned. Definitely a must-try! Their happy hour is a great deal, and the atmosphere is just what you'd want in a local brewery: relaxed, welcoming, and fun. The location is spot-on--easy to get to, with plenty of space inside and out. To top it all off, the staff have been incredible--knowledgeable about the beers, super friendly, and genuinely fun to talk to. It's the kind of place where you feel like a regular, even if it's your first time. We'll definitely be back. Cheers to great beer and even better people!

We arrived at 11:30 AM, and the door was locked, but thankfully an employee noticed us and unlocked the door. Another customer told us that the building used to be a coalmine store. I noticed that the interior looked rustic, with exposed brick and crooked floors. The women's bathroom was clean. The employee provided very courteous service. The menu listed appetizers (e.g., fried provolone and calamari), salads, sandwiches, mains (e.g., pastas, veal parmesan, and chicken picatta), and alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. Here are my ratings for what we ordered: Small chicken parmesan - 4 stars - The small size was actually pretty big a definitely enough for one person to eat. The chicken, sauce, and cheese tasted very good, but I prefer crispier breading. Meatball sandwich - 3 stars - My husband ate this sandwich. He said that the meatballs tasted "interesting" and that the bread could have more flavor. I thought that it tasted alright. Caesar salad - 4 stars - This side salad consisted of lettuce, cheeses, just-made croutons, and a side dressing. Spaghetti - 3.5 stars - This side of spaghetti had nicely cooked noodles and a flavorful sauce. The prices were very reasonable for the large serving sizes. We paid only $30 plus a tip.

Here are my ratings for what we ate: Chef's Cheese Board - 4.5 stars - This appetizer contained two cheeses, two cured meats, bread, and jelly. Prince Edward Island Mussels - 4.5 stars - This entree was a special. A large bowl of mussels was covered in Thai coconut red curry sauce, lime, mint, basil, and cilantro. On the side was a grilled baguette and garlic potatoes. Duck - 4 stars - The duck breast was cooked well, but my husband would have preferred a larger serving size. The waitress said that it was covered in a blueberry sauce, but it tasted like BBQ to us. After eating this entree, my husband still felt hungry. On the side were asparagus and risotto that had an OK flavor. Creme brûlée - 4.5 stars - This creme brûlée was topped with strawberries.
