When I called to make the appointment, I was having a severe breakout and stressed that I wanted a facial with extractions. I was told all of the facials include extractions. When the facial got started, however, the esthetician (SQ) said my acne was too inflamed to do extractions in the areas of the breakouts, but that she'd do them elsewhere. They should have told me that was a possibility when I made the appointment. She did do some extractions elsewhere, but really not as many as she should have. She had even referred to doing them on my chin, but I noticed she never did any extractions at all on my chin. I got home, looked in the magnifying mirror and saw the same clogged pores. While the machine was steaming me, she was cleaning and said something about needing to keep everything especially clean because of COVID. Good, but I'd kinda think this would be done at the very end, after I leave. Later, I noticed the room was very quiet as she was sitting out of view, and then I noticed the faint "bump-bump" sound of text messages being exchanged. She did do an arm massage later, but I feel like the entire time should be used on client care. I was also surprised that she didn't know what hydroquinone patches were or the term dermatillomania. Maybe the second one I can understand if she knew the layman's term instead (though you'd think an expert in skin care would still know it), but hydroquinone patches would seem to be a common item in discussing acne with clients. I don't think English is her first language, either, so even basic communication resulted in her misunderstanding me. It was very frustrating. I will look elsewhere for my next facial. If I can't find a better place locally, I'll request someone else next time. Oddly enough, on my way out I was interested in buying some skincare products or at least learning about them. I asked if they had a brochure on the Dermalogica product line, and they said no. What a missed opportunity for the business. I probably would have bought something if anyone had giving me info or even asked if I needed help or if I was looking for an item in particular. I was the only client present, and the women at the desk weren't on the phone. The pros were that staff was friendly, the place was clean and had a beautiful ambience, there was a nice product/shop area with things I wanted to buy (nice essential oil diffusers!), the esthetician wore a mask and seemed conscientious about cleanliness, and the price of the facial was on the low side compared with similar shops nearby. read more

I've been here on a handful of occasions and continue to return for lack of many other options that can accommodate me at short notice given my busy work schedule. I've had a different masseuse on each occasion and they were each adequate. I did feel better after my massages but never relieved of pain which I did feel when I used to get massages on the west coast. I also feel like in the time allotted for a 1 hour massage they could get to more treatment areas-especially the head. That's often my favorite part of a massage and at this location the masseuse never gets to it. This is also one of the pricier massage parlors in town, especially after including gratuity. One thing I do like is the ambiance. As soon as I walk in the door I smell the aromatherapy and their seating area is quite comfortable. The massage rooms are the perfect temperature (once they turn on the bed warmer) and the lighting is perfect. The rooms are also very quiet- I hate it when you can hear traffic or people talking loudly while trying to relax! read more

I booked my appointment online and within minutes they had contacted me via text to confirm my appointment time. When you walk in you find a clean, calm and refreshing space. The receptionist was very nice and I got checked in quickly and easily. I had an amazing massage with Elise G. She listened to everything I said, and checked in with me just enough to make us both feel confident it was going amazingly well. She is very skilled and relieved my back spasm that was killing me as well as left my entire body relaxed and rejuvenated. I loved that Elise didn't mind I didn't talk much (although if you like to talk, I'm sure she's an excellent conversationalist). My first visit with Judi was nice. I would have given 4 stars for that but my second visit was cut short. I got in around 7:35 and was laying there, waiting for the massage to start. it did not start till 7:50 or so but was wrapped up by 8:30. I have been going to LaVida since they opened. Judi is my massage therapist. As long as people expect to make their appointment one week in advance and keep their appointment, they will not be disappointed. This is a professional, top-of-the-line clinic such as a doctor's office. They call to remind me of my appointments as well as email me. Right from the beginning I started as a V.I.P. It is the best relief for chronic neck and back pain. If possible, take a nice bath with Epsom salt, lavender essential oil and a body oil afterwards to help with the detox and natural pain experience. I hate leaving bad reviews but we went in for a couples massage and we both didn't like service. It was freezing and my hands were turning blue. I asked for heat therapy and I got a bio freeze like substance that made me even colder. I paid extra to freeze. This was not my first massage but my first at this location. The room was freezing. My bed was not heated. The therapist ask if I wanted a full body massage and I said "yes everything but my scalp". She only massaged my upper body and not even all of that. She never touched my legs. My partner had a bad experience also. It was freezing. She also didn't get a full body massage. The massage therapist kept scratching her with her nails and her bones kept cracking loudly so we felt so awful for the therapist. I'm so sad I wasted my time and money. This is my favorite place for massage and facials. I've been to others in the area but nothing compares in price and quality. They're so affordable. I bought the membership program and I pay $59 a month and get a massage every month. I used to pay no less the $85. I've also had a facial done twice so far and I'm in love with this my skin looks. I love that I'm able to use my membership interchangeably between facials and massages. Shirlet is the best! They have awesome therapists too. I've seen John and Judi so far and they've both been so nice and accommodating. They relived the pain I had in my shins due to running. The only down side is they're so booked. I've learned to make my appointments in advance before I leave. This way I'm in every single month no matter what!! The front desk is so friendly and knowledgeable too.
