Got a 100 dollar gift certificate from my daughter for my birthday. Upon arrival I had the lady at desk confirm it. She verified it good and said no problem you are covered. The massage began with me sitting in a weird dark lounge area with 3 other people..for about 10 mins..still not sure why. Then massage began. Basic massage with mainly elbows..was not good at all ..after done went to checkout ..lady says its 150 per hour ..so with 20 dollar tip I had spent 70 dollars of my own money for a one hour very poor massage that really was only 45 mins according to the bright red blaring clock on the wall. That 170 dollars spent for a 45 minute massage that literally did nothing for me. If I could rate this place a minus 5 I would. read more

I found this place by attending a birthday at the little gym. While waiting around I see this flyer behind me and I figure let me just read it to pass time. A few weeks later cleaning out my bag I notice the flyer and said let me check them out. I made an appointment to get a facial and I must admit it was good. I also signed up to become a member. I told my sister about this place and she booked with Rachael and told me that the next time I get a facial it MUST be with Rachael. So that's what I did I booked with Rachael and never looked back. I have been coming here for 3 years now and I have never been so satisfied with the services I have received. Rachael is the only person that will do facials. She is, so sweet, kind and personable. I know I should be relaxing when I go for a facial but I can't help but to take to Rachael about everything. I also have received massages from here as well. I have been to a few people and have been completely satisfied with all. My Top 3 right now is Rostana, Maribel and Cameron. They are awesome. Never left there with any complaints. OMG...never, ever been to such a peaceful place....had a gift card for about a year, went in to check if it was still valid...the receptionist said that she had a last minute cancellation and asked if I would like a massage....I only had one once in the past and I didn't enjoy it....I was reluctant, but she convinced me... so glad she did! The main reason being that the front staff manager was really not that friendly and wouldn't be flexible to my schedule appointment time. I scheduled an appointment for 7 o'clock, got a confirmation for the same time, showed up at 5 minutes to 7 PM, filled out paperwork and then was told that the appointment is not until 8! The girl mentioned something about computers not working correctly, did not apologize and tried to convince me that it was my mistake by saying that the person who made an appointment for 7 PM called 2 days before me. Now, what kind of a customer service that is when the receptionist admits faulty system and offers no compromise or apology. I am never going back. I wasted my time driving there and back, now I can never be sure that if I do make another appointment their "computer system" will work properly. For a new business it is unacceptable. read more

Booked an hour long couple's massage, the actual massage was about 35 minutes. We were underwhelmed with our service, yet still tipped generously ($25 per masseuse) and when we inquired about the length of service, we were told the "hour" we paid for, included undressing, dressing, consult and paperwork. We arrived 15 min early and did outback paperwork, btw. We will not be returning. Go to Spa Exotique in Selden, far better and our usual place but we wanted to try something new. LaVida is a hidden gem tucked into a tiny strip mall. Six months ago I unknowingly injured myself at the gym. It resulted in a 4 month long cervicogenic migraine from tightness in my neck and shoulders. The pain was so severe I considered quitting my job just to avoid triggering it. I did weeks of physical therapy but nothing could help the tightness in my neck. I searched for migraine massages in my area and found LaVida which is over 25 minutes away. It is worth every single long drive and every penny spent. I started working with Lisa 3 weeks ago and she truly has a gift. Aside from being friendly, she's incredibly knowledgeable and has given me tips to help me after I got off the table. I'm finally able to laugh again without excruciating pain in my neck. The location itself is wonderful. They offer flavored water, mints, and a relaxation room to wait in while your masseuse prepares your room. I can't recommend LaVida or Lisa enough. read more

No interest in going back. My husband bought the subscription and added me to it. The first time I went after he added me, the man behind the counter was not very nice, saying my husband didn't add me to the subscription and it's just a month old and I wasn't eligible, etc. Answered my questions in a condescending and snippy manner. The woman sitting next to him tried to diffuse his remarks by saying the mistake was on their end, but it left me not wanting to go back. So. Very. Done. Told my husband to cancel the subscription because I didn't like the customer service. It's a shame too, because the massage therapist was wonderful. But all my relaxation went out the window when I had to deal with the attitude at the counter. Way to lose customers. read more

However the last two times i was there it was very distracting to hear ppl talking right outside the room very loud. It was my first time coming to LaVida and I scheduled a new client 90-minute massage with Alisha, and all I can say is wow! From the minute I met her, she made me feel very comfortable and wanted to make sure this was the best possible experience for me.
