My friend and I walked in at 3:30 for both of us to have a pedicure and a full set. They closed at 6 PM. They started us with the pedicures. Hers was great start to finish, until the gel polish peeled off less than 24 hours later. My technician had a cut on his thumb that seemed to be bleeding and was not wearing gloves. He proceeded to file my nails down until almost all of my toes were also bleeding. Leaving them sore and with scabs 48 hours later. He then began to paint my toes. I have small toes, but nothing that can't be worked with, I've had several pedicures before and never had one like this. Where half of my toe just wasn't painted. I walked out of the pedicure chair looking like it had been weeks and my polish was grown out. He spent 15 extra minutes taking polish off of my skin with acetone bc he had painted all over my skin (burning the cuts that he had just made w the file). Then it was over thank goodness. I even sent a message to my husband about how nervous I was that this man was now going to do my full set. I have included a photo of what I asked for as well as several photos of what was provided. When he started on my nails, he glued the tips on and began to shape them. They were looking OK at this point I wanted, medium length coffin shaped. From there everything went downhill. He started to build the acrylic and it was so beyond lumpy that he had to spend 20 extra minutes drilling the extra acrylic off of my nails. Then we moved onto paint. I asked for a design, that could be considered difficult, allowed him the photo as he was painting, and all I ended up with was a similar ring finger. He ignored my request for a design until they were trying to figure out the cost of the services. The colors used did not look anything like the samples offered at the beginning. I wanted brown and got red and purple. No design. Short length and wonky shape due to filing and now my fingers are bleeding as well. He then again had to use acetone to fix his paint mistakes on my skin. After 2.5 hours it was now time for them to close and he was over doing my nails so he rushed the last few coats, curing dust and other things into the top layer of the nail. And then wanted to charge $300 for two pedicures and full sets. On top of my poor experience, my friend who was with me also had to coach her nail tech through how to complete the nails that she wanted. She had to show her how to file it and what direction to file in in order to get the shape and with that she wanted. And neither of us left with what we wanted exactly. We chose this salon last minute based on reviews, but will never step foot in here again. I attempted to call for a refund as I now have open wounds on my hands and feet due to someone's negligence and not wanting to do their job and all they attempted to do at that point of call was schedule me an Appointment Not understand that I wanted my money back, not another appointment. Don't waste your time and money!!!! 5 months pregnant & looking to relax & just got hurt ?

I always go to home based because salons are just horrible maintenance and never do good designs or shaping. This place is amazing and very good prices for what they do. Not only do they treat you're nails very well and do an amazing job and meet you're expectations buy they also do cuticle oil and lotion on you're hands. I will be coming back

First and last time I come to this location. While everyone was very nice and the experience was nice during the end result left MUCH to be desired. I used my own regular, non gel, polish. They had my sit down in the light/drying section. I was completely forgotten about. After 30 minutes I had to ask someone how long I needed to sit there for and she said for just a few minutes. At that point I got up and inspected my nails... Cut crooked as hell, not painted smooth to where you can see the edge where the second coat didn't cover the first and paint not cleaned off of my skin. I'm now going to have to go home to fix this as I just wanted to get out of there.

I got a full set and gel pedicure and it was a great time. The tech that did my pedicure was great and didn't hurt me unlike many others in the past. I was able to get some work done on my ipad while she was working. Then I got my nails done and I loved my technician. She was very sweet and I got to know her a little bit. She did a great job and I will be requesting her once I figure out her name!

Byron gave me the best cut I've ever had! 10/10 would recommend his services. Thank you!

    Lumpy nails- was not happy.

I paid to get the SNS white done- the man did it supper chunky and thick-and he tried to send me out with lumpy nails. His coworker noticed- she tried to fix the issue, however I was supper unhappy with my nails I came back and paid to have them removed. They recognized that I was just there 5 days prior - attempted to offer to fix them at a discounted rate. I didn't understand why I would pay to have them do it correctly if they didn't have them done right the first time? If anything - I shouldn't have had to pay to get them removed because of how badly they were done. If I could give 0 stars I would.

Have been coming here for a few years for my eyebrows and pedicures. Anne has always done my eyebrows and never disappoints. She just recently did my manicure for the first time and I can't be more pleased, I'll have to start making nail appointments with her as everytime I come for my eyebrows she is always doing someone else's nails. The establishment is clean, spacious and offers a variety of services. My go to spot in OakLeaf.

Dear reader, I moved…read morefrom Los Angeles to Jacksonville as a social worker affiliated with a well known veteran's service organization and was in desperate need of self care! I tried several places in Jacksonville (med spas, private businesses, etc) and they didn't provide the same kind of luxury in services as I found in places like Beverly Hills and LA. Luckily, I found Carla and Embrace Your Own Esthetics, which was a game changer! Carla REALLY knows her stuff and is quite knowledgeable; she blew me away actually with how individualized her care was: I have gone to her now for eyelash extensions, facials (including a facial using her amazing, top of the line:high-end machine that has done wonders for my skin) and back facials. (I'm also planning to make an appt for a paraffin treatment and eyebrow wax when soon). The amazing thing about Carla is that she cares. In fact, I am pretty sure she is an angel. She has done many things to accommodate me and I get the sense would do so for you, and anyone that goes to her studio for her services. For example, she scheduled me in early in the morning last minute and late at night a couple times per my request as if it was no big deal and that meant so much to me given my ridiculously busy and rigid work schedule so I could enjoy some self-care! Also, her pricing is the best I have ever seen. She offers specials and when I asked about this out of shock because she is so talented, she was also so kind about this; when I asked about it, she said she wants to be sure people from all socioeconomic backgrounds have the opportunity to feel beautiful and/or engage in self care!! Finally, I started to really trust her and her talents, so I asked her to lead an event as a philanthropist for the veterans service org I mentioned earlier. She agreed and then she changed her entire travel schedule around so she could do it and offered quite a bit of goodies and support for clients who have almost nothing because she really cares. If you are a regular with skincare and keep it up, I truly believe you'll love her and appreciate her talent even if it's a change from your regular provider. On the other hand, if you are new to skincare and self care, I think you will love her and appreciate her services. She caters to individuals specific needs and skin care goals like I have never experienced before with such a pro and and will answer any question and help problem solve any skincare question or issue you may have for best possible outcomes for your skin. That said, although she's so humble, I probed a bit and learned she has also been trained in LA, Japan and just got back from Greece essentially training others because she is so skilled as an esthetician. Lastly, her studio is safe, cute and lovely. I fell asleep a couple of times as she worked on my skin and it was amazing and deeply relaxing. (As an aside, also, a month of seeing her, two colleagues have mentioned how great and glowy my skin looks)! As a social worker, our duty is to look out for members of our community, so I say this without any hesitation: don't wait and do yourself a kindness and book an appt (she has such an easy way of doing it on her website)! You deserve it! I truly believe you will be so pleased with your treatment outcomes, Carla's beautiful studio, her astounding attention to detail, your needs and Carla herself (who is so very thoughtful and attentive). She's been the best esthetician I have EVER been to! My skin looks the best it ever has and so are the eyelashes I get to rock because of her attention to detail and patience.

I can't scream enough positive words about this hair place and the awesome ladies that work here…read more Nikki, the owner, has maintained this small woman owned business for over a decade. With Covid 19 amongst us, they practice CDC safety. The best part is they have always been a clean establishment. Once you walk in you are greeted with a family type atmosphere where you must wash your hands before being shown to your sanitized chair. Nikki is amazing with determining the best style for your hair. Want it to grow? Nikki is amazing at making hair grow. She has a mother's touch with your hair. I believe the greatest part to going to Inner Beauty Boutique is they do not overbook appointments. Any woman that has ever gone to a beauty shop has experienced the long exhausting wait from over booking. You won't have that here. Don't get me wrong. There is a wait list to get in but when you do get an appointment you will not be disappointed for sure. In this time of financial crunch, know that their prices have not gone up. That in itself is an astoundingly wonderful feature. Check out her prices. She can do 99% of any hairstyle you bring her a picture of. If she can't one of her salon staff most certainly may be able to.

I could barely smell anything for that matter. After she got done washing my hair I was left to sit almost 45 mins at the shampoo bowl with a towel over my head. With the ideology of " letting the water drain out of my dreadlocks" which I have never heard of before. After waiting 45 mins I finally got in the seat for a retwist. I was told she uses a foam and the other product she uses I actually had to look and see what it was myself, because she didn't say what it was. The retwist was ok but it seem to take forever and I finally went under the dryer for and 45-60 mins. After sitting under the dryer she finally comes over and takes out the bands or whatever it was to hold the locs out because it wasn't the typical clips. And then says well your done... didn't spray any type of oil in my locs or anything. I'm glad I only paid 54.00 for a retwist because her salon etiquette was very off. The shop can do better as far as cleanliness, and the young girls that work their look fresh outta beauty school. I left this shop at 12:30 to get a wash and retwist. When I booked online my time slot was for 8:45-10:30. I would never return here. If I hadn't booked online I would have left when I sat at that shampoo bowl for 45 mins with nothing in my hair.
