Jackie is a miracle worker! I have longer 3C-4A curly hair, and no one in the entire santa clarita valley knows how to deal with my hair the way that she does. I first got a devacut with her last october and it grew out beautifully - it completely changed how I looked (and felt). It changed my life. I have been to a few curly hair specialists in LA, including the infamous Shai Amiel in Studio City. But I couldn't fathom spending over $200 as well as 5 hours of my day. I found Jackie and she did a great job on my hair! I asked her many questions on what products to use, how to care for my hair, and explaining I'm VERY low maintenance and would prefer NOT to spend $40 on a bottle of Deva brand products that will last my hair a couple weeks. Her answer was all I needed to know she's a keeper -- ''we are all different and have different needs, do what works for YOU and your hair!" Complete opposite of the advice I got from Shai (I was scolded for using Shea butter -- *curly hair holy grail* and was strictly told to use DevaCurl ) Jackie dry cut my curls, washed/conditioned, and applied product. She asked me if I preferred a cream or gel styling product, concerned with which one worked better with my hair. She also asked if I wanted her to diffuse my hair (which would have added AT LEAST another hour) or if I wanted to let it air-dry. I chose to air dry, which is what I do at home. These were definitely pros. I LOVE that she was trying to fit me and my hair's needs. She went to the Devachan school and is DevaCut certified. I was in and out of the salon, chair to car in an hour. The cut was quick, detailed and affordable! If necessary she offered to touch up my cut if I saw any curls that are a little wonky and out of place. Awesome!! Once I've made my mind about doing something, it's hard to stop me...and I had made up my mind to get a haircut. I needed a trim BADLY and wanted to add in some long layers. A portion of the right side of my hair had had been fried from a bad job with a curling iron. Jackie cut my hair and could see how scared I was (it took me a long time to grow out my hair) and did not cut my hair any shorter than she had shown me she would.
