Their salesman Stew lied straight to me and my wife. The sad thing is the the things he lied about wouldn't have been a big deal except for the fact that he didn't lie just once but several times. When we bought our vehicle there were a few things that we wanted taken care of. These were simple things, we wanted the front driver side wheel bearing checked, a new wiper blade on the passenger side. And since the car was dirty on the inside,we asked for it to be detailed. That's it! Seeing how we gave them $17,000 in cash it felt like we were just pushed off. I'm a man that still believes that if you promise that you'll give me something for a fair price, and not only was it written down but with a hand shake it's a contract. Well I guess not! In short. I've been doing business here since it was under the old dealership name, (Heartland Chevrolet) and I can honestly say that the 2 bad reviews on them are the only ones I can find. It strikes me odd that Yelp only chooses to show the bad review and a 1 star rating when there are several 5 star reviews posted here and on other sites for the dealership. I went into the dealership looking for a used car for my 19 yr old daughter. Advised the salesman Jonathan I wasn't wanting to spend more than $2000 for the car. He shows me an 02 Grand Prix and tells me it had been through inspection and everything was fine with the car and they had just replaced the fuel line. Ok great. I purchase the car cash and let him know I live in Illinois and I would be licensing the car there. No problem. He tells me I can pay the Illinois sales tax when I get the plates and I'm out the door for $2000. I was told the paperwork would be mailed to me for my title and plates. A couple weeks go by and I get a call saying there's an issue with my address with the postal service and they didn't know what to do. I tell them I've never had an issue with my address before seeing how it's my home address and he tells me he'll go ahead and send it. Fast forward 2 more weeks I still haven't gotten the paperwork for the car and the car has broken down at this point. It needed a power steering pump, a power steering pulley that fell completely off, and an idle pulley. Now, I didn't expect perfection out of a $2000 car but Jonathan did tell me the car had just been through inspection and everything was good. I call and talk to him about the situation and of course they're unwilling to do anything about it. Ok fine but where is my paperwork? Fast forward again to today 7-29. I just received my paperwork 2 days ago and the temporary tags expire on the 2nd. Mind you I live in Chicago and my daughter is in Evansville. I call and see if they can give her an extension on the temp tag for another week until I can get the plates mailed to her or take them down there and explained they probably wouldn't be there by the 2nd. The solution was for me to spend over $100 to overnight the plates. Seriously? Through no fault of my own was I put in this situation and now you want ME to pay to have the plates overnighted? I guess now my daughter is supposed to miss work due to their incompetence. I will NEVER...and I mean NEVER do business with these people again. I must say, I was very reassured when Jonathan told me they had a great service department if I wanted to bring the car there to get it fixed. Um no. We are from TN and found a car at this dealership. We spoke to a salesman about a 2011 Chevy Cruze. He emailed us the details of how the deal would go. He and his manager agreed for us to pay $4000 on the day we picked up the car then 3 weeks later we were to pay the remaining balance. Keep in mind we have this agreement in writing. We drove to Indiana this past Saturday, we get there drive the car and then go inside to do paperwork, the owner says he will only give us 2 weeks instead of the 3 already agreed upon. They already knew this wasn't going to work because it had been previously discussed. They then start bringing up financing as I knew they would being as I previously worked for a car dealership, I let them know this tid bit of info and I let him know I knew those tricks. The owner finally agrees to talk to my boyfriend and tells him he will not agree to the previous agreement. My boyfriend told him he should honor what we have writing. The owner says he isn't going to argue about it and doesn't even want to sell us a car, after we drove from TN! My boyfriend told him he was going to yelp about his attitude and lack of ethics and he lost it and starting screaming get the fuck out! My boyfriend is a Govt. employee, a veteran who served in Iraq and someone who deserved some kind of respect instead he gets cursed at by this foul man! The owner actually called him a piece of shit knowing all these facts. He obviously has no respect for anyone who has or is serving in the military! So needless to say we got our 3 kids and got the fuck out like he requested! The owner has some serious issues! Please stay away from this business! read more
