Not sure if we were flimflammed or if the estimate of our landscaping job was so inaccurate the…read moretotal cost was $1200.00 more than the original estimated bill. We paid 1/2 the cost of the job 6/23/25 (original bid $2725), and date completed was 7/18/25....and this was not a big job. We have a small strip of backyard, maybe 15'x80' to be leveled with dirt and new sod placed. The workers were unreliable, they did not show up when scheduled and did not communicate until we reached out to them. They were not prepared, they dumped dirt in our backyard in the pouring down rain without tarps to protect from run off. My husband had to work the whole time they were here (and after they left) to cover the dirt with tarps and level off the ground for sod prep. One of the workers ran over our mailbox and didn't even tell my husband. I discovered it when I got home from work, he asked the workers about the mailbox, and the worker stated that he may have backed into it....too much! The extra charge of $1200 evidently was for the "miscalculation" of needed fill dirt. The dirt load they originally brought covered maybe 30% of the yard....I have pictures, that load did not cover much. Total job cost $3925.00.

Our patio turned out exactly how we hoped it would, and the extra pavers were left for us to use to create a pad for our trash cans...BUT Jake took it upon himself to place them under our cans so we didn't have to lift a finger. Our patio table and chairs were also moved from the grass onto the new patio, which was unexpected, but so appreciated. That said, Tyler assessed my system and discovered my pump was cycling frequently, sprinkler heads impacted below the base of the grass, sprinkler heads on the same zone as rotary sprinklers, and some sprinklers were too close to the house. In addition, he addressed my desire to add more heads to the back of my property and provided his professional opinion and advice. Once the assessment was complete and rough estimate of the time and cost, Tyler and Mike performed an irrigation system valve reconfiguration, zone expansion, sprinkler head maintenance, sprinkler head relocation, and installation of two valve boxes. This was a two-day project and I could not be more pleased with the SKILL, PROFESSIONALISM, and EFFICIENCY displayed by Tyler and Mike. The amount of work accomplished in two days could have easily turned into a four-day project. I WILL CALL COASTAL LAWN SPRINKLER FOR ALL OF MY IRRIGATION NEEDS; THIS ORGANIZATION IS A CLASS ACT!!!

After a few years, we connected again, after I also obtained several other quotes. Dillon by far, was the most visionary and patient person to work with. This project took several weeks to complete, which was expected. Basically, it was a complete tear out and rebuild of my yard, patio, decking, front porch and walk, with plenty of pavers, plants and sod. Dillon and his team were outstanding in every way. In all of my years, and houses, I have never worked with a contractor that was as easy as Dillon and his team. I actually consider them my project team. We worked together as a team to make my dream come true. My home looks better than expected. Their diligence and eye for detail is second to none. Pricing was quite reasonable. Not to mention, they are a full service organization. I did not have to sub out to others for tear out, irrigation, low voltage electric, hard and soft scape, gas fire pit, flagpole, and more! They were able to do it all and beautifully. My only wish is that Dillon and his crew could perform the weekly maintenance and house projects! I hired James with A Cut Above Landscaping to address a serious water intrusion issue at one of my…read morerental properties. He recommended installing a basin drain system as the solution, but unfortunately the work was completely ineffective. The crew dug up the parking lot and front of the house to install the drainage system, but left a huge mess behind. There were trenches and uneven areas throughout my parking lot and even extending onto my neighbor's property. The entire job felt rushed, like the priority was finishing as quickly as possible rather than making sure it was done correctly. The drainage system itself was poorly designed. The drains were not installed up against the house where the flooding and water intrusion was actually occurring, and the front of the property was not properly graded to direct water toward the drain. As a result, the system did little to solve the original issue. When I reached back out and asked James to come back and help correct the problems, his response was that they were "already barely making any money on the job." That response made it seem like the focus was more on profit than standing behind the work or making things right for the customer. Overall, I was very disappointed with both the workmanship and the customer service, and I would not recommend using this company for drainage or water intrusion issues.
