Poor patient care experience, physician is not very good at communication, nurse Practitioners pretty much run practice. Office staff especially who run authorizations are very rude and not helpful especially with high risk patients. My recommendations to office: Sell practice to a more energetic available physician group Have a Back up (not hospitalist) physician on staff. It is okay to spend a bit more. Horrible!!! Absolutely the worst office manager and staff that has to abide by the wife's rules. They mess up files and mistake patients for other patients files. We have never ever had any missed appointments at this office, my daughter hadn't been seen in this office since 2017, figured I'd give them a try again for her and was told she couldn't be seen because she had missed an appointment- LIES!! My daughter would've only been 14 back then and I can assure there was no missed appointments.the decline of this office has not changed from my original review where you read the office manager admitting she was at fault and I'm sure this is the case again. Labor & Delivery Experience: I suggest reading his google reviews as well. If your birth falls within holidays, be prepared to be told " your baby is going to come out retarded if you don't do this" must be his favorite slogan to use when forcing his hand, as I also read another mother commenting same thing, to have C-section. Initial visit was with Koning then I was always seen with Kayla until very last few . Hospital experience was en entire ploy. I was told I needed immediate hospitalization on my " follow up" yet it was simply to induce me against my will as I said many times I wanted to wait for baby to come on his own. If I was in so much danger why wait through the entire induction process, 5 days if baby was indeed in immediate danger? Honestly, if you have the means to not see this doctor who forgot his oath. This is a much long overdue review. Dr. Koning saved my life and my daughters. Literally. I had the most difficult pregnancy to the point where I was so scared I would run out of options of finding the right type of care I was needing up until I found Dr. Koning. He was God sent and now thinking back I should have written this a lot sooner but it's never too late to thank those people who come into your life for a reason. My daughter who now is 5 years old, is healthy and thriving and a future athlete. She was actually born with a natural absolutely incredible athletic ability that had been recognized by many since she was about 2 years old. Came her for a consultation about my debilitating period cramps. I told the "doctor" that I have taken birth control pills before and I was not interested in taking them again (as I have always had a negative experience with them). He did not listen to any of my concerns and just gave me more birth control pills. Please find a woman obgyn if you want to actually feel heard and respected. read more

I cannot speak for Koning, but his PA Kayla is unprofessional. I expect to wait when going to a doctor's office, but each of my 3 appointments in the past 4 months exceeded 75 minutes wait time, and without apology from Kayla or staff. My most recent visit was to receive results from my ultrasound and blood work. They do not offer televisits because, as Kayla so poignantly noted, "you can't examine vaginas on the phone". It is very difficult to get access to your medical info from this office, because you need to use their portal which I was unable to access. All of these things irritated me, but let me tell you why I will never return here and why I don't think anyone with any real gynecological concerns should see Kayla. This is basically the exact verbiage used when relaying my lab results: "Everything looks good. Except you have a thyroid disease. It's called hashimotos and it's an autoimmune disease and you will have to get annual biopsies of your thyroid for the rest of your life for cancer screening". She of course couldn't answer any of my pertinent questions about hashimotos because, guess what? She isn't an endocrinologist and she shouldn't have "diagnosed" me as if she is one, much less throw around the c-word. She isn't a GYN either, in case you are at all confused about that. She's a RNP. I am someone who has an ongoing precancerous condition relating to my endometrium, that she is aware of. So to say I have to get cancer screenings for my thyroid (for the rest of my life) is incredibly crass and unprofessional. Lastly, my friend went to her with a uterine lining of 29mm and they didn't do anything for her. She got a second opinion and that doctor immediately biopsied her to reveal that she has hyperplasia with atypia. I hope this review helps someone. Maybe you're like me and you really prefer a female gynecologist, but if you're dealing with issues more serious than a routine pap, please do not see Kayla! And if you do, plan to wait at least an hour in an exam room before she waltzes in without so much as an apology. Updates: have sent three requests via patient ally to Koning's office to provide me with copies of my pelvic ultrasound. All messages have gone unanswered since 4/20. Recently saw an endocrinologist who said, verbatim, that it is *horrifying* that an RN told me hashimotos requires cancer screening, or that an RN formally diagnosed me. read more

I love this office and Dr Koning. I was hesitant at first because of all the negative reviews but if I'm being honest I have no idea where they are coming from. Dr Koning and all of the staff are nothing short of amazing and so, so kind. This was my first pregnancy - I only moved to the states two years ago (german expat) so being comfortable with my doctor and care team was extra important to me! Dr Koning cared for me throughout my pregnancy and delivered my girl in April 2023. My birth was incredible and everything I could've dreamed of. We are so delighted to have Dr Koning as our OB Doctor. He has delivered two of my babies and the professionalism and experience is by far the best I have ever seen by him and his entire staff. I always feel comfortable coming to him and felt like I was in great hands during the entire pregnancy and delivery. Will be finding a different provider. Not only did they choose to wait until the day before my appointment to inform me that I would need a referral from my primary to be seen (which, btw, isn't required by my insurance), they also informed me the day of my appointment that the provider I was expecting to see wasn't there. So I was seen by Dr Koning, who in the past has failed to call and discuss pertinent info regarding my results. He saw me for all of 6 minutes. And then as I'm leaving, the woman at the front, I'm assuming his wife, makes it a point to remind me to submit a referral for the next appointment. Not happening, save your reminder. I arrived to my 1 PM appointment at 12:50, rushed from Irvine to Corona (I work in Irvine) because the receptionist I spoke to told me to be there by 12:45 PM. Ok, made it a few minutes after 12:45. I check in and then wait 20 minutes before the nurse calls me in to see doctor. Thankfully I asked the receptionist if she can store my breast milk in their refrigerator! Because it took 30 minutes before I was seen by koning. Around 1:40ish, I stepped away to use the bathroom and was told by the nurses that Dr. Koning missed me so he went to the next patient! Umm I just went to pee, took me 4 minutes! I asked the ladies how long it was going to take for koning to come back and they said a few minutes. Took him another 15 minutes. I dislike writing poor reviews but an hour and more wait is not professional and frankly very rude. I write this bc I mentioned to the ladies I have to pump and have to pick up my baby since I came rushing right from work in Irvine to get to the appointment on time so I can leave way before 1:45 PM. I ended up leaving closer to 2:25! When Dr. Koning finally came in, I gave him a bried overview if my delivery. The he made a very antiquated and unwanted opinion about my decision to opt for a midwifery. He said he doesn't understand why some women still choose a practice that's like 200 years old (but the way he said it was condescending and pompous). My decision to deliver naturally and unmedicated is my business, not his. He spent valuable time giving me his opinion rather than a professional assessment. My time with him lasted no more than 10 minutes! He didn't even explain why bellybutton hernias happen or how common they are, it was more like you need surgery and these are the referrals. The only reason I give this place a one star is because the front desk receptionist (red hair lady) was nice enough to store my breast milk in their refrigerator and she was professional. I have been a patient of Dr.Koning for over 3 years now. He has delivered all three of my babies. He is Hands down the most reputable and knowledgeable doctor in the inland empire. The office is always clean, organized, and has such a great welcoming aroma. The office staff are always professional and helpful when making appointments or following up. Also i love that your appointment time is always on time , I've never had to wait long here for my scheduled appointment. I was referred by my primary physician to Dr. Koning due to an ultrasound result that she felt was outside of her expertise. Dr. Koning's staff were able to accommodate a same day appointment due to the urgency of my situation, which I very much appreciated. After examination, Dr. K sent me to the ER, where I was treated and released, returning to Dr. K's office the next day, with surgery scheduled for the following week. Surgery went well, though I had an issue on day 5 post op and they, once again, saw me right away. I'm on the road to recovery and felt it was important to review Dr Koning and his staff, to commend them for exceptional service and care. I'm 51 years old and have had a lot of experience with doctors throughout my life. This has, by far, been the best overall experience that I have had with a doctor and staff of any specialty. I felt that he and his staff cared about and advocated for me, even though I wasn't an established patient, from my first telephone call. He listened to my concerns and surgical history, taking everything into consideration during my surgery, aftercare and when managing pain. I am very grateful that I was referred to this office and that Dr. Koning quickly assessed my condition and managed my care, professionally and with a sense of urgency. Thanks to everyone, including Julie and Jillian, for making a pretty horrible medical situation so much easier to navigate! Dr. Koning probably hates women, which does not bode well for a ob/gyn. I came in for a IUD replacement and left sore without an IUD and have since changed my ob/gyn and medical group so that I never have to give this place another penny. My experience for the past few years was strictly with Kayla and it was fine. Kayla treated my exams with care and I never felt uncomfortable. However I was told that only Dr. Koning could insert IUDs so my last appointment was with him. He just jammed in the speculum and started cranking it open without ANY warning. He also made some misogynistic remarks about how non-virgins are usually less sensitive and handle this better (newsflash, if you shove metal inside anyone without warning they usually don't handle it well). He was extremely rude and condescending the entire time. Despite the fact I put up with all of this for BC, one of his parting remarks was "Find a nice guy and have some babies." Talk about tone-deaf. I don't recommend this office to anyone. read more

Worst OB office. Please do not come here. They are extremely unorganized, not sympathetic and absolutely no help. I had an appointment and they gave me the wrong address. They did not inform me of the address mishap until 45 minutes after i checked into the wrong office. They then proceeded to refer me to a daycare center when i told them i did not feel comfortable in their care since I'm "14 weeks" and the doctor only went off my last period date. They then referred me to a private OBGYN who will not take my insurance but instead bill me for every medical visit i have up until after the birth of my child. I had Medical when i gave birth to my first and only child and they were way more professional than this. read more

I was referred to Dr. Koning's office and I was little concerned because the last OB/GYN I saw not great. Such a different story here!! First of all the office staff here is AWESOME!!! They got me in right away and I met with Kayla. She is wonderful. She took the time to explain my ultrasound findings (including showing sizes etc with a tape measure LOL) She reassured me and explained what the Doctor can do to fix my issues and if possible avoid hysterectomy. If you need a caring and competent OB/GYN this office needs to be your first stop!!!! read more

My daughter is newly expecting. She was in the beginning stages of finding an OB doctor. She had selected a physician and had made an appointment. Prior to her appointment, she had an issue and contacted the medical group after hours, but the group was totally non-responsive, even to this day. Needless to say, she cancelled her appointment and booked with Dr Koning as hew was highly recommend by 3-4 coworkers. She reached out to the group on Yelp, and Julie Koning quickly responded with availability. My daughter, again had some issues before her initial scheduled appointment with Dr. Koning. She called his office and he personally addressed her concerns and directed her to go to the ER. This was a good call because come to find out, my daughter had a life threatening condition. I had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Koning as he came to the ER to check on her. He expressed concern, was encouraging, and has great bedside manner. Truly delightful. He was patient and answered all of my daughters questions. I truly appreciated him making a good call and his follow-up. My daughter ended up hospitalized for a few days. Dr. Koning saw her every day that she was there. He pushed her initial appointment date to his first available business day. She went to her appointment yesterday. I was told that she was greeted by his wife, Julie. My daughter said she showed genuine compassion and concern for her, the minute she saw her. Her appointment with Dr. Koning went well. I know that my daughter will be in good hands during her pregnancy. A big Thanks to Dr. Koning and Mrs. Koning. I can't thank them enough for their rapid response and the care that they gave to my daughter. If I know of anyone that is in need of a good OB doctor, I'd definitely point them into their direction. I was impressed from the I moment I walked in. The waiting area is beautiful with soothing blues, purples and greens. Not of the typical look of an OB Gyn's office. As a woman who is still trying to have children, I appreciated not being confronted by tons of pictures of babies and pregnant women. Instead, the photos were flowers. The front office staff were friendly. When I met Dr. Koning, I immediately found him to be much more attentive than my previous doctor. He listened to my concerns and ordered some tests - something my prior doctor had never even suggested. When I went in for my annual exam, I received not only a phone call, but also an email reminder. I was pleasantly surprised! Jessica was the RN who saw me and she was friendly and answered my questions. Three days after my exam, I received an email confirming that all tests were normal. I am impressed!
