They generally lack etiquette and self control and their ultimate goal is not to protect and to serve, but rather to intimidate and harass. I only wish that the city could get some more experienced cops that have worked in the big cities to come to LPD. At least that might balance out all the hot-headed rookies just out in search of some action. Just know that you are guilty until proven innocent, and even then, they will likely get you caught up in the court system just because they can.

We arrived 15 min early and there were only 2 customers in line. This is the time to come as it's usually quite a long line. We approached the window with papers in hand and the tall woman with long black hair asked if we had an appointment and told us to sit down until we were called. Right on time, Wilbur called us to the end window, took our paperwork and asked if I had photocopy of each birth certificate and ID along with the originals. I missed that part of the instructions but he said not to worry I could get copies for a dollar. He took our photos and let us check to make sure they were ok because we would have them for 10 years. That was nice of him to let us check. Entire process took about 30 min but was pretty painless. I had paperwork completed but he needed to verify everything and hand write a section for each of us, then payments to USPS and US dept of State for actual passports for each individual passport. He worked quickly and that was the time it took. I appreciated him being pleasant with us and making sure it was all correct. A very easy process and overall good experience. Otherwise, for general mailing from this branch, I've had good luck when asking for extra priority mail boxes when the rack in the lobby has been empty and overall a smooth process getting through the line. However, once in awhile the desk clerks aren't putting on the happiest face when helping. I get it, I used to work for the Fed Government and sometimes it's just not a great day on the job, but I've found smiling makes an tough day better and others smile back at you. I don't have any major complaints as it's usually pretty efficient, just not always as pleasant as it could be. I did have to deal with management at one point when a mail truck left her mail truck running and it popped out of park and drove into my new car in front of my house. It took months, but eventually got my deductible back with help from management, I've forgotten the gentleman's name as it was over a year ago. Just know the federal government is their own entity so they don't have car insurance like you'd typically deal with.

Was able to use the self serve kiosk pretty quickly.

I found multiple open tables on that Wednesday afternoon. It wasn't a completely silent area, but it wasn't loud enough to distract me from working. There were outlets on the table, and the Wi-fi was pretty fast and reliable! There's plenty of parking in their designated parking lot. The restrooms were pretty clean and are located near the front when you enter the building. If I ever need to be in the area again, this would be my go-to study/work spot!

Well, a lab in Livermore, CA created one of the newer elements. The name of this newer periodic elements is Livermorium. There is a gigantic granite water ball fountain that represents the nucleus of the livermorium atom. Very cool photo opp!! The Livermorium Plaza is a terrific outdoor area in downtown Livermore. The big water ball fountain in the center of this plaza is interesting. From what I read, this place is a kind of a tribute to the Livermore Lab and the livermorium element created by scientists from that Lab. Lots of benches here also, just a nice plaza in general!!
