My Initial one star complaint: "We just had over $300 removed out of our bank account to cover sanitation costs thru this company (that required a credit card to set us up) If we were INFORMED that it was coming up we could have budgeted this in, but to just open our wallets and take it...im so angry at them." Resolution: After emailing the company and explaining my situation I received the phone call not more than 2 hours later explaining that I could break up my payments and receive notification of when the invoice was do if I use a bank account draft system. This matter was handled quickly and professionally and I am now putting up a 4 star status from what was originally a one star status for Livermore sanitation I am still not pleased with the rate but the speed at which this was handled deserves the additional 3 stars.

Similarly to other people, they will occasionally somehow forget to pick up my garbage but they'll never forget to collect their fees.

I love that they actually answer the phone when you call, you don't have to jump thru hoops and press buttons to get someone.

One of my times at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory I took a picture of some geese on a lawn,…read morewhich I posted on Yelp. I later realized I had signed an agreement not to take pictures here... When I talked to someone about it they said not to take it down because if it was still up taking it down would probably make more of a mess. So here I am writing a Yelp review for a United States of America National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) lab because of a picture I took of geese...If you want to know if the picture is a breach of national security, ask the president of the United States of America. Just keep in mind he and I don't really get along. The laboratory grounds and facilities are pristine and well-maintained. All of the employees I interacted with when I came here were friendly, knowledgable, and surprisingly well-balanced. Something to consider if you want to do research and/or work in one of the groups here. One of my security badges I forgot to turn in at the lab itself. The lab sent courtesy reminders including an envelope for me to send the badge back in. I found this reassuring when mailing the badge. On the premises, entrance/exit guards were friendly and easy to identify from their full uniforms. Workers at the badge office were helpful and friendly as well. Parking was provided by the badge office and by a number of buildings throughout the lab. Not all buildings had parking lots, I liked this aspect of getting to walk a little bit to get around the lab. Overall I highly recommend for research in geophysics, shock wave physics, and physics of materials under extreme conditions (high temperatures and/or pressures). The geochemistry set-up was also pretty sweet.

Today I'm celebrating my 4th year anniversary working at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory…read more(aka "The Lab") and I couldn't be happier at this point in my career. The Lab offers me job security, work/life balance and career growth. Located in Livermore (the East Bay), I no longer have a commute to work. I also get to ride my mountain bike at lunchtime into the hills at Brushy Peak Reserve which recharges my batteries. The mission of the Lab is to apply science and technology to make the world a safer place. LLNL received Glass Door's award for Best Places to Work in 2024. I'm honored and blessed to work here.

Today's visit with Wilbur was 5 stars! I'm giving 4 for overall experience with the branch…read more I brought my 2 sons in today for an appointment for passports at 11 am on a Tuesday. We arrived 15 min early and there were only 2 customers in line. This is the time to come as it's usually quite a long line. We approached the window with papers in hand and the tall woman with long black hair asked if we had an appointment and told us to sit down until we were called. Right on time, Wilbur called us to the end window, took our paperwork and asked if I had photocopy of each birth certificate and ID along with the originals. I missed that part of the instructions but he said not to worry I could get copies for a dollar. He took our photos and let us check to make sure they were ok because we would have them for 10 years. That was nice of him to let us check. Entire process took about 30 min but was pretty painless. I had paperwork completed but he needed to verify everything and hand write a section for each of us, then payments to USPS and US dept of State for actual passports for each individual passport. He worked quickly and that was the time it took. I appreciated him being pleasant with us and making sure it was all correct. A very easy process and overall good experience. Otherwise, for general mailing from this branch, I've had good luck when asking for extra priority mail boxes when the rack in the lobby has been empty and overall a smooth process getting through the line. However, once in awhile the desk clerks aren't putting on the happiest face when helping. I get it, I used to work for the Fed Government and sometimes it's just not a great day on the job, but I've found smiling makes an tough day better and others smile back at you. I don't have any major complaints as it's usually pretty efficient, just not always as pleasant as it could be. I did have to deal with management at one point when a mail truck left her mail truck running and it popped out of park and drove into my new car in front of my house. It took months, but eventually got my deductible back with help from management, I've forgotten the gentleman's name as it was over a year ago. Just know the federal government is their own entity so they don't have car insurance like you'd typically deal with.

Interesting older almost historic building. Has the old time bronze ornate PO boxes inside which I…read morelike. They have 1 self serve kiosk inside. Parking is on the side and in the back. The parking lot wraps around the back. Looks like it gets gated when the post office is closed with a barb wired gate and metal bars on all the windows. The building is older. Had a Fallout Shelter sign in the backside. This post office is located in downtown Livermore toward the south end. Lots of construction going on in the area. It wasn't too busy when I went by. Was able to use the self serve kiosk pretty quickly.
