I can't tell you how amazing that was. when I got to the appointment, everyone was extremely nice. and I know it's common, because they're working with kids, but not as genuine as this place. you can tell when someone is genuinely nice and caring. and they were ALL genuine. they have a cute arcade room which was a plus and my son loved It. it made him relax during the visit. the people always kept conversation with HIM instead of just me. I could tell it helped him from becoming nervous and anxious. they recommended pulling his severely loose front baby teeth because his adults were already down and when I expressed how much it was, a lady was very quick and reassuring in getting me prices. I pay so much in my sons medical bills alone, between co payments and medications, so she didn't make me feel weird having to ask how much the procedure would cost or that it was even a bother. can you tell I have anxiety too? lol lastly, and one of the most important interactions, the time to remove my sons baby teeth. i wish I had gotten other peoples names because I love giving credit when credit is due, but for now. Shanda and the Dr who assisted her in sealing my sons molars and removal of the top baby teeth did amazing. They continued to talk to him and encourage him as we didn't proceed with the gas and were very responsive as soon as they realized the instruments made him nervous. I can't tell you how great that felt as a parent knowing there's not much you can do to help other than verbally say "you're doing amazing baby." thank you for everyone being exactly who you are. She was able to effectively find and treat a problem in one of my molars. My review has more to do with the office policies and the staff. So, I went for my first appointment and I was very happy, then I was referred to an endodontist and he was also very professional. I was scheduled with Gwinnett Family Dentistry (GFD) for a second appointment to finally get a crown in my molar, so they call me (GFD) and schedule my appointment, very nice lady, never mentioned any of their policies regarding changes or cancellations. On a Thursday, i receive a confirmation call from GFD and again, the nice lady never mentioned any of their policies or how long the procedure will take. So I confirm that I'm attending to my appointment, thinking that the procedure will take about an hour like in my first appointment, but what do I know??.. I'm just the patient who's never ever had a crown treatment before. So I call the day of my appointment, which was Monday, around 7:30-ish... I get Ingrid on the phone and I ask her how long is the treatment going to take? and she says "2 hours", and obviously I had no idea of the length because I was never informed. So I panic and I tell her that I can't make it because of work, I didn't know it would take 2 hours, and I have to reschedule..... I understand that I'm calling at the last minute, BUT.. Aren't they (GFD) supposed to inform you of these details before your actual appointment?? Anyways, she tells me there is a cancellation fee, and I tell her that I'm NOT cancelling, I'm rescheduling because I was not informed that the procedure would take that long. So she insists that is the same because is in the same day, less than 48 hours before my appointment. I get very upset, and I tell her that if they charge me a cancellation fee I will go to another dentists, obviously Ingrid doesn't care. She tell me that the administrator will be at their office the next day and she will call me... After a few minutes I call back and ask Ingrid how much the cancellation fee is?.... And her answer????.... " I don't know, the admin will call you tomorrow"... that never happened.... A week after, I receive a bill from them, it's only for $15, the original amount was $50 but after some credit they made I only "have" to pay $15, NOT my point... So my problem is..... Ingrid, works in that office, SHE tells me about the cancellation fee, but she doesn't know the amount.... So, how am I supposed to know about their policies if they never ever EVER mentioned them to me, the policies are not in their website and I was never informed by any of their staff, not when I scheduled my appointment and not when the nice lady called me to confirm my appointment.... I was told I needed a root canal, and was referred to an endodontist (Atlanta endo center) The root canal had failed, and a chronic infection formed. EVERY 6 months at my cleaning here at Duluth dental studio, I would bring up discomfort in the tooth to the dentist assistant and the Doctor. They would tell me it WAS inflamed/bleeding but there was nothing showing on my x rays to be wrong. I believed them. This past December, during my cleaning Dr Kimi told me the tooth had periodontal disease. That was a shock to me, and it didn't sound right. I knew I needed a 2nd opinion. Thank God I got one, my root canal was infected and had failed. I had to get the root canal redone recently, and this office (Duluth dental studio) has given me such a hard time about getting my dental records, saying they would be "encrypted" and I wouldn't be able to see them. I spoke with someone named Tonya on the phone a few days ago, who thought it was funny and was laughing because I was concerned about not being able to obtain my records. DO NOT GO HERE- please, go somewhere else. If something seems wrong with your care, STAND UP FOR YOURSELF. I'm sooo glad i read reviews before just calling any place because i was originally going to call a different place but both locations had 1 star and the reviews were so bad. Then i came across Duluth Dental Studio and their reviews were awesome, a lot mentioning Dr. Moon being great. So he called the next morning and they took him in the same day! From his words, the staff was very friendly and Dr's explained everything to him thoroughly and were extremely helpful. Their membership plan is also great and helps save what he was originally going to pay. In his case, his bottom teeth were very delicate and dr was responsible and generous to let him know they couldn't go straight to cleaning his teeth or anything yet due to the fact that his nerves and teeth were too delicate at the moment and since nothing really hurt him but coldness they want to wait til the head trauma passes. My boyfriend then went in the next day to get a little fill since I did chip his teeth, on accident ! I believe they also did clean in between him gums which made his teeth look nearly brand new! Ofc he has a few appointments after that but we 10/10 recommend this place!! Don't go to a whatever last minute place without reading reviews like we were about to do!!

I also have family members who work in the dental field, and after explaining my experience, they encouraged me to report the situation due to concerns that it did not align with standard patient care practices. After I raised my concerns, the office contacted me and tried to explain that the provider did not show frustration during the procedure. While I understand that everyone is human and emotions can happen in stressful situations, my experience as a parent in that moment felt very different and concerning. Because of everything that occurred, I felt it was necessary to report the issue and I will be seeking care elsewhere. It was an hour away but he couldn't stay with his wire out for 2 more days. So I drove him out here. Once we got there they checked us in and took him back almost immediately. He wasn't back there for 30 seconds! They undid a clip stuck the wire back fastened the clip and he was done. No charge. I mean I was glad it was fixed, but I just drove an hour for 30 seconds and was looking at an hour drive back! 30 seconds?! Couldn't they have faked it for 10 mins or so to make me feel better about the drive? I mean come on... While the administrative staff was nice and attentive, my clinical experience with Dr. Patel felt more like a high-pressure "timeshare sales pitch" than a medical consultation. The first red flag happened when Dr. Patel recommended a specific cleaning that included a rinse/spray. When I told him I just wanted the basic cleaning covered by my insurance, he dismissed my preference. He stated he didn't know anything about my insurance coverage and refused to perform the basic cleaning. I later learned that his recommended cleaning came with an out-of-pocket expense of at least $100. The second red flag came when he displayed my X-rays on the big screen. He went over every tooth and recommended replacing old silver fillings with cosmetic white ones, along with several other costly procedures. When I questioned his recommendations, he became condescending and repeatedly asked if he had explained it well and if I even understood him.At that point, it became clear that I was dealing with a money-hungry dentist rather than a trustworthy provider whose primary focus is patient care. They have comfortable seating, lounge area, and even a bathroom with a changing station. The children's area has a television but the game system does not work and it would be nice if it did. They have good quality of care and the dentist and the dental staff are nice. They give gifts to the children after their visit and they are patient with the children to get them through their procedures. The walls have kid-friendly decor and they really try to cater to the children with the areas for kids to play and have a tv above their head to distract them. Overall a warm and inviting, all atmosphere and experience.

BUT when I came in for my appointment, I don't even know why I was dreading it. As always, they were very friendly and professional. I was taken back immediately, numbed immediately- I didn't feel a thing, and I had 3 fillings done. I was told I may feel sensitivity afterwards for a while, but my teeth have felt just fine since then. I no longer am bothered when i eat sweets.
