Now I am being told I must pay additional fees just to have the orthodontic attachments removed and to receive retainers, which I believed were included in my original treatment plan. After being in trays for several years and going through multiple refinements, this has been extremely disappointing and stressful. Communication has been poor, and I do not feel my treatment was handled professionally or with clear expectations. I would encourage others to get everything in writing and ask detailed questions about what happens at the end of treatment.

06/27/13 Update I had my crown work done and I have also…read morebeen in for a routine cleaning. This is my first crown and it has been perfect! I haven't had a single issue with it and it literally feels like a real tooth. My cleaning was by far the best I've ever had too! They use an ultrasonic cleaning method that did an amazing job! You don't know clean until you have this done here. I'm still so happy with Hove that I bumped my original rating from 4 stars up to 5 stars! I can actually say I don't mind going to see the dentist now. :-) I just moved to Iowa and needed a dentist ASAP! I had a broken tooth that required a temp repair until I can get a crown. I saw a positive review about Hove and decided to give it a try. They got me in within 2 days to patch my tooth, which was adequate timing given my situation. I definitely didn't need a same-day appointment. Upon arrival this morning, I was greeted professionally and kindly, and everything was explained clearly to me across the board. I never felt rushed or like I was inconveniencing anyone with my questions, and all of the staff happily answered any questions I had. I gave 4 stars for now since I only had one procedure done today. I'll post an update and hopefully bump it to 5 stars after I have my crown work done. The location is convenient and in between work and home so I drove by at least twice a day and decided to look into them. It's located in a business strip and has it's own parking lot. When I walk in, Monica has always greeted me warmly. She is one of the office assistants and she was so incredibly helpful and friendly. I was trying to get my records switched over and Monica offered to take care of it. There were issues where my former dentist office LOST my records but Monica helped me sort out what to do and called my insurance company to make sure I was covered and good to go. I so appreciated everything she did because she could have left it to me but actually wanted to help. Lori was my dental hygienist and I swear she is the best! It was my first cleaning ever that did not hurt at all! She's very gentle and provides caring advice on how to keep up with my dental hygiene with no judgment (yes, I really should floss more!). Dr. McDonald is also great. He gave me options of what I could do for some of my dental concerns and answered all my questions. You could tell he really cares and takes pride in his work. Never pressured me into choosing any services either. My husband who has really sensitive teeth and gums said that it was pretty much pain free for him too and a lot better than other places he's been. I've had other teeth extracted before, so I understand the difference between normal pressure and actual pain. I told Dr. Wiese several times that I was in pain, and I was in tears during the procedure, but no additional anesthetic was offered. I left feeling that my pain was not taken seriously. I was also disappointed that my prescription had not been sent to the pharmacy by 4:00 p.m. When I called, I was told their computer system had been down and that my prescription had been forgotten when the system came back online. While I appreciate being seen on short notice, the painful procedure and the lack of follow-through with my prescription left me with little confidence in the care I received.
