I have been going to The Davidson Family Dentistry for about a year since my Dentist retired from my hometown. The staff at the front desk greet you in a friendly manner with a minimal wait time. The Dental assistant Sheryl did an excellent job with my teeth cleaning I enjoyed visiting with her, I requested her for future cleanings. Today I had a tooth filling , Jessie got me set up ready for the dental work she was so pleasant and informative. Dr. Biegert is an excellent Dentist I highly recommend! Dr. Michael Davidson is a great dentist. I am old and have been taken care of by adequate dentists in the past. But this is like getting a Rolls Royce dentist compared to a nice chevy. I have had fillings and wisdom teeth pulled and an infected tooth pulled. I cannot say enough of how precision and painless the whole process is. The Hygienists at Davidson Family Dentistry have all been exceptional as well. I give them 100 stars. read more

Went to Davidson for a few years. Providers for cleanings were fine, I had a temp crown that was a very poor fit & went elsewhere to finish the job, but worst part is the office / billing staff just doesn't have it together. On multiple occasions, they would quote us one amount to pay then on day of service would demand more money or no service. The worst was when they asked my husband for an additional $400 or not have his scheduled service that day to start a crown. Shortly after, they told me I owed more on my service as well, but my insurance EOB showed the amount I already paid was all I was responsible for. I asked them for an itemized statement to compare against EOB, then asked again and again for months. 10 months later, found out we had a credit balance the whole year that they had never refunded us. They also tried to delay that refund even though we had moved on to a different provider. This clinic only accepts certain demographics of patients, and heaven forbid someone circumstances change. The lie about getting fully reimbursed for the U&C charges as they feel they should be able to bill double. I'm posting this here as I have given them multiple chances to make things right. This all started years ago when I disputed them double charging me for services and causing issues with my cap, just to be able to bill for additional visits. The clinic has called me a liar multiple times when I have expressed my 1st amendment right to free speech. They have sent me multiple text messages asking me to come in for another cleaning, but when I called them to make an appointment to have my cleaning and look at a hole on my tooth, they refused to schedule when they found out my insurance changed. Even though they are listed on the State Fee for Service listing, they advised that I was cash up front only customer now to them. Note the use of the term "customer" as they appear to have wanted to end the Doctor / Patient relationship. There suggestion was to tell me to call one of the factory practices that work on volume of procedures, and not actual patient care. I advised Dr D I would be taking to social media regarding this, hoping for a resolution, but they choose to double down. I saw Dr. Michael Davidson recently when a tooth started giving me trouble. Turns out that was the tip of the iceburg tooth and I got to spend a lot of time with Dr. D and his staff. They are unfailingly polite, prompty, and helpful. They took the time to help me puzzle out my dental insurance and figure out what was covered and how much and helped me come up with a treatment plan. Dr. Davidson is the perfect amount of funny and sarcastic in a way that takes your mind off the fact that someone is using power tools in your mouth and he has a real knack for pacing the procedure to give you little breaks to swallow, wiggle your jaw, and close your mouth right when you need them. All in all a fantastic experience-I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone. read more

I spent $1000+. I still have multiple unresolved dental issues, including issues they completely seemed to miss. I'm spending more money elsewhere to get the issues resolved. I also developed health issues after the dental work that my medical physician connected back to the unresolved dental work. I'm spending money on sorting through those too. read more

Beautiful building and a nice practice. The front office staff is Fantastic. The hygienist was absolutely AMAZING! However, I really started to feel like a paycheck once the dentist started talking and making recommendations. When we moved to the Des Moines area from out of state three years ago we searched for a good dentist. Now after we have been patients at Davidson Family Dentistry for many months we can say that it was a good choice. I was attracted by the philosophy and the professionalism and we have been treated very well. Absolutely no problem with our insurance coverage and scheduling regular appointments is simple. When i moved to the Des Moines area i was looking for the top office in the area and was referred here. I have always been happy with my dental experience. Very professional and thorough. I would highly recommend this practice. Negative reviews appear to be from those that are disgruntled because they need to seek care from providers that serve low income patients, not because of poor care. read more

Agree with Somer S and Phil C. My first visit, the office staff chased me down the hall as I went to use the restroom to tell me that they don't "carry" my insurance. My response: "Don't worry, I will pay for it, you will get your money. Now can I go to the bathroom? It was a long drive." Got a plan that totaled $6800 to fix my dental issues. Almost spent $1400 on first phase then came to my senses and went to another dentist that doesn't have full size angel statues in the waiting area. read more

My first visit to Davidson Family Dentistry, today, very impressed by the friendly people at the front desk, very nice office, my dental hygienist showed me around the dental office, made me feel right at home, my hygienist did a great job, deep cleaning, explained my X rays to me, I asked questions, she had answers, Dr. Michael came in to check me, very nice man, I have problems with infection in one tooth, Dr. Michael explained what the possibilities are down the road for me, everyone in this office explained things so I could understand, I would recommend this dental office (5 dentist) to everyone, great people helping people like me with the best dental care possible!! read more

The staff from the receptionist to the dentist are friendly, polite, and make you feel very comfortable. They are flexible with making payments. They don't push you for services or recommend any unnecessary procedures. The atmosphere is really comfortable! I have seen Dr. Davidson Dentistry for over 10 years. When I first began seeing Dr. Davidson I was a single mother and I had to make payments if I needed work that was much more than my insurance would cover. I always was received with kindness from his staff and by Dr. Davidson himself. I always made right by my payments and now my situation is much better and I know I can always count on Davidson Family Dentistry! Also if you have never gone to Davidson Family you must give it a try! He is a very interesting person and is quite interested in history and politics. However, there was a slim chance that there was a connection between vertigo I experienced and tooth pain. I was in bad shape and needed medical attention quickly. Within 30 minutes of my initial call, I arrived at Davidson Family Dentistry and was taken care of right away. Dr. Michael personally ruled out any dental connection to what later turned out to be a serious issue of shingles attack on the facial nerve based on several x-rays he took. Dr. Michael also recommended - though it was not his field of expertise - to see the ER right away. This, too, turned out to be spot on and contributed to a relatively early stage discovery of my shingles-to-the-ear case. Overall, Davidson Family Dentistry has proven to be my favorite go-to dental office of 50+ years. If you're hesitant to see a dentist, but you really HAVE to, don't hesitate - you won't regret it; believe me! read more
