I have been a Laxague customer for nearly 40 years. I'm sorry that someone didn't find it friendly enough. There's new (but still in the family) ownership and it takes a minute to get everything organized and make add their own vision for additional services. Their uncle, the founder, did have a little sign reminding us of the credit card fee. No charge for debit cards. These young folk are caring, conscientious, hardworking people trying to bring the best value they can to their customers. I'm on a fixed income and appreciate the lengths they go to accommodate single old women like myself! And if someone wasn't in the most outgoing mood, remember that every bale of hay in that barn is stacked by hand! I'd suggest that you get to know this young family. Locally owned businesses are gold for the community. Their contributions go beyond the business, Remember, there's no corporate back up. Kids get fed, new shoes if it all works. Not really friendly to people who aren't ranchers or farmers. Didn't have a sign and/or didn't say anything about the credit card fee just added it to the total cost without mentioning anything about it. Place seemed to have everything a rancher could need. It was a large building with plenty of feed, hay and supplies. However it could have a little more of a friendly feel if they treated customers better. read more

Everything always goes well, right, and good when I visit Laxague's to pickup Doris shavings for my horse. Best price and only place in the valley I've found for these high quality shavings. They also have really nice tack, and a good random selection of hardware so that I always find what I'm looking for. I even find stuff that I wasn't looking for but needed. Laxague's Feed Store is reasonably priced. I want to say they have been in business for at least around 40 years, since we bought my first saddle there in 1981, I believe. They have a good selection of feeds and definitely have the best selection of tack if you need something on the fly. By far the best feed store in Gardnerville/Minden!! read more
