Simply put, it's RUDE to not respond at all especially when a potential client is clearly attempting to book an appointment. Extremely dissatisfied with the lack of professionalism . I had my initial appointment set for May 30, as I started to ask and just see by chance if she would have any availability sooner, she told me that day was her only availability left. I was still shocked because of her places I've contacted are booked out 6 months in advanced. Later that day (Thursday 5/11) she sent me a message regarding a possible open spot at 12pm the following day (which would be for Friday 5/12). Her response time was so quick and to come to think of it... all this happened in one days time! I informed Shawna that I would not be able to make it at that time, but if she could see me at 1:30pm I'd be off from work already. She said she had an appointment at 2pm, I thought maybe I was just pushing my luck. Shawna said she'd get back to me by 12:30pm the following day, regarding the available slot time at noon didn't confirm, she'd squeeze me In last minute and I'd be her last appointment for that day. She was honest, her communication skills were straight forward and she was very courteous about letting me know that if she hadn't responded to my messages it would be because she was with a client. So come Friday 5/12 @12:30pm, she texted with she'd be able to see me at 6pm. I hadn't responded till 2 hours later, I had confirmed the appointment and she still kept it open for me. I was extremely appreciative of that. (Having to not do your eyebrows and having your brows microbladed as an option definitely would save me time, energy and trying get my girls to be even! I know your eyebrows aren't twins, but they're sisters. I struggled with always trying to get them perfect!). Anywho, that's why I was so excited because knowing that I would no longer have to draw them on anymore. So Friday came, we met, I felt as if I'd known her all my life, her vibe, her ora was nothing but good energy. Shawna went over the procedure, the pre and post care, cost, she took her time with me, I felt very at ease considering I wasn't too familiar with the area and didn't know if I was venturing into a sketchy part of town, which actually wasn't bad at all. Starting the procedure she placed the topical over my brows, I waited 20 mins as she went over the after care, we had a light conversation aside from the procedure. After the topical had set in, she had me lay down and started sketching the baseline for my brows. She was so patient with how I asked for her to lower the arch or heighten the arch, make the point perfect etc etc, such a perfectionist, I am. The procedure was minor, pain was minimal almost none to me (I've had ink work done before, microblading is nothing like the physical tattooing sensation of pain). She had taken before and after photos, I couldn't believe the difference, the full filled in wispy look of natural brows! I was glad I got it done and I was in such luck. When we got done, I paid and Shawna had gone over the post care again to touch up and express the importance of after care. Today is Day 3 of my brows, it's healing just fine and the new layers of skin are starting to come through! Thanks Shawna! I couldn't help but list every detail from start to finish with finding you and finishing up the process!!! I left out some pretty important things to come to think of it, the sterility of her equipment, sanitation which are all plus plus! The price, the price is way more reasonable than all of the other microblading shops that I've inquired to, you get what you pay for. She is really easy to talk to, she always tries to accommodate me, and she is so kind. As for the facials, I just started getting them recently, only having done two so far and I regret not getting them sooner. I have acne prone skin with a lot of inflammation, after the first facial I've noticed my skin already calming down hence why I got the second facial. I came to Chanel with a vision of my dream hair. A dream for over a decade I dismissed as fantasy…read moredue to my hair type. Chanel skillfully fine-tuned my mane until that hair dream was reality. I'd long wanted to dabble in the use of vibrant, non-natural color, and it wasn't the fear of anger and judgement from a conservative family, the controlling ex-spouse, the risk of not being taken seriously in work settings, etc., but the fear that if I were to dare to be so audacious and seize upon that dream, I'd irreparably damage my hair through bleaching. It would all fall out in clumps, and all was for naught! What I told myself as I became the friend that frequently mixed the powder and activator from Sally's and helped friends achieve their manic panic-fueled hair dreams. In mid-November 2025, brand new to Sacramento, I went in for a pre-holiday cut and balayage, attempting to look nice in anticipation of meeting my partner's family for the first time. By a month into the new year, badly needing a cut, I looked into the profiles and portfolios of the stylists at the salon, poking at this long-buried dream. I saw Chanel's portfolio displayed an impressive number of examples with creative use of color that required dramatic lightening of clients' hair. I figured it was time to manifest this hair goal or move on, so I booked a consult with Chanel. During the consult with Chanel, I'd explained I wanted my own take on smoky lavender hair. Yet, bc I still believed my desired end result was untenable, it hampered the ability identify what exactly it was that I wanted, until I asked if full bleaching was possible. Chanel said it was indeed possible, explaining there's no guarantee of perfection in one shot but assured me if it was not achieved in the initial appointment, that with subsequent follow-ups, the goal was obtainable. During our appointment, Chanel was able to handle hair deemed too difficult or fragile for such an undertaking with ease. She achieved the desired results within that initial appointment. Chanel also made my personal experience of this several-hour-long endeavor more relaxed and comfortable than my average experience as a patron of Aveda salons exclusively since 2007. A distinction necessary to decrease the triggering a migraine. In my customer experience, as someone with physical and sensorial sensitivities, my appointment was also a pleasant departure from expectations. I didn't feel dazed in an uncomfortable environment with too bright of lights, too loud of noise level between hair dryers and a dozen loud conversations occurring simultaneously, while held captive to meaningless small talk, as my head was jerked around. Everything was calm, manageable, relaxed, and pleasant. So much so I fell asleep at one point. Chanel's interactions with me were intentional. She shared her enthusiasm for local art, food, culture, and love for her family. In doing so, she shared helpful information about the area as someone that's still getting used to Sacramento. Next day, I get a text from Chanel explaining she hadn't been able to get decent photos of her nearly day long work with my hair. The ability to properly see the lavender throughout layers of the hair in photo or film is highly dependent on diffuse lighting and it was dark out by the time we finished. So, she invited me to come in to get my hair done for free??! She did my hair up super fun and fancy. She'd also found a hair color depositing wash that helps maintain the tone and vibrancy of the lavender. I left feeling like I had magic unicorn mermaid hair. My mother had thick, dense, fast-growing, glossy Asian hair. I was the one out of her 3 kids that did not inherit that trait. She didn't know how to style my hair making it a point of frustration and contention.
