She explained why she wanted me on medication and explained what the EEG was saying. I was very nervous with the abnormal EEG and Dr B explained it all. She made me feel at ease. I am a retired nurse and would definitely let you know that she is worth the visit and would advise you to see her, you will be happy.

When you do go you often aren't seen until almost an hour after your appointment time. They push products that the doctor endorses as a side business. Most times they see me the same day, and have a straight forward approach. The staff offers options for your care, (something i don't care for) i' not a Doctor of medicine and don't care to be one. If you see the DR. Coffee he will put you on the right path however the staff tends to offer you different choices. The bottom line i don't want choices i want results, but if you stick with this group you will get results and feel better. Mostly the DR is a home town man with a seemingly good moral compass. i use them on a regular basis and have never felt better. only problem i see is the Tennessee volunteer room, i would gladly change that to crimson tide! Walked in the lady at counter was very friendly and asked what I needed to be seen for. She asked if I'd been there before, yes I have last year. So they already had all my information. Nurse called me in to a room waited to be seen. After exam was told if worse in morning to call and they'd add another prescription then I was on my way with the first prescription. I truly like the staff here. I would still recommend anyone to go here.

I've had a very frustrating experience with Athens Family Practice. The older lady sitting on the…read moreright when you check in is consistently rude to patients. I've personally watched her speak disrespectfully not only to people checking in, but also to some of the employees. When you're already coming to a doctor's office stressed or not feeling well, the last thing you want is to be greeted with that kind of attitude. Their appointment scheduling also needs serious improvement. I was told there was an opening, got scheduled, and then when I showed up they told me the appointment was actually for a completely different day and time. That kind of mix-up wastes people's time and shouldn't be happening at a medical office. To make things even worse, they later told me I had "rescheduled too many times" and that they were considering dropping me as a patient -- which was extremely frustrating considering the scheduling confusion on their end in the first place. Unfortunately, the care itself didn't feel much better. It often seemed like the doctors were just trying to put a temporary bandage on issues instead of really figuring out what's going on and helping fix the problem. Overall, the front desk professionalism, scheduling system, and quality of care all need major improvement. Patients deserve to feel respected and confident in the care they're receiving, and that just wasn't my experience here.

When the doctor came in the room his body langauage was angry and closed off, and his tone was combative. He clearly had no interest in my experiences or any information pertaining to my health or well being that I had to relay. He responded with an angry tone and unrelated statements that made it clear he had ignored me completely. Is it possible to provide quality health care if the doctor is unwilling to establish a dialogue with the patient? It was clear to me that this man made a snap decision about who I am by looking at me and had no interest in my education level, intellect, or experience. He treated me as though I was not competent enough to be involved in my own care. After a while his churlishness faded a bit (but not entirely), but it was clear that engaging him in conversation would be pointless and would only escalate an already uncomfortable situation. He said he would call my medications in to my pharmacy, so I drove from the office to the pharmacy where my pharmacist told me nothing had been called in for me. I walked around the store for a few minutes while the pharmacist checked his voicemail to see if any of them were from my doctor. When I returned they told me again there was nothing from my doctor. I called the doctor's office only to discover they're gone for lunch without calling in my meds. So now I'm headed home without my meds because my husband has already missed a half a day of work to take me to this appointment. We can't wait around for an hour for them to return from lunch and another half hour to get my Rx filled because this bully of a doctor can't be bothered to make a phone call before heading off to lunch. Whoever said time is money clearly didn't understand that you can make more money, but I'll never be able to replace your wasted time. Also decency and respect don't cost a damn thing.
