It's a combination restaurant in the front and small market at the back, which gives it a warm, community feel. From the outside, the building looks a bit run down, so if you're coming purely for ambiance, just know the real highlight here is the food and the service. If you're looking for delicious Afghan comfort food, you should definitely give their Qabuli Palau a try - or order it for takeout. The Qabuli Palau was excellent. The shank meat was so tender it practically fell off the bone - flavorful and hearty. Service was warm and welcoming. You can tell it's family-run, and that personal touch really shows. There is a restroom available for customers (I didn't personally use it, so I can't comment on that). The space overall could use a little facelift, but the food makes it worth the visit. My total came out to $36.51 for 2 dishes, a hot tea, and a small chocolate bar. After reviewing the itemized receipt (with San Antonio sales tax at 8.25%), the math didn't quite line up with the posted prices. One small piece of constructive feedback: the menu pricing appears to be outdated, and it might be helpful for the owner to update the menu or clarify pricing so it doesn't accidentally cause confusion or trouble down the road. I'm sharing this because I'd hate to see a hardworking family business run into avoidable issues. Overall, the food and hospitality were the highlights for me. Don't judge it by the exterior - just come for the Qabuli Palau and the welcoming service.

I chose something simple and it was very tasty. I ate it all very quickly. I do however wish I were a fan of pistachios as it was very picturesque behind the glass display case. I topped off my meal with a very flavorful drink that vaguely reminded me of Sonic's cherry limeade. A fast-food drink I love, by the way. I told my daughter we have to go back and in the meantime I recommend this restaurant highly.

He not only answered every question we had about the menu, he was so gracious to get the manager when he wasn't sure on how to explain an item to us. He was prompt and checked on us often, very much appreciated. As an appetizer we tried a cup of the lentil soup, it was so comforting and warming, it had a savory taste. We also tried the falafel appetizer and it tasted so good, flakey, and the sauce it came with was perfection! The falafel tasted so good on its own. My husband and I decided to share one plate, the mixed shawarma plate, it was very big and enough for the both of us. It comes with pita bread! The chicken and gyro meat were so perfectly seasoned, the beef shawarma was good, not great. All the specialty sauces: hummus, garlic and tzatziki were absolutely tasty! We asked for more as it just complimented every bite! The plate also comes with a lemony salad, which went perfectly with every thing! We fell in love with their rice, we ordered a side of just rice! It's absolutely lovely! To drink we got their hot tea, which is black tea and you can choose to have it with natural mint leaves, it was perfection in a cup! The music was traditional Lebanese, which made you feel like you were transported to Lebanon. Will be going back very soon!

My other co-worker went out and tried the German Shepherd hot dog combo and loved it as well. So with a little twisting of the arm, I went out and went to see what they had to offer. Apparently they have hamburgers as well, but I was there for the hot dog experience. They had a "chef's special" which is whatever the chef wants to make. My only request was to be light on the cheese. They in turn asked me if I wanted it spicy. Without a second thought, I immediately said yes! What I got was a pile and a tasty pile of a loaded hot dog with chips, chili, mac and cheese, and pickles topped with jalapenos and some spicy shiracha on top. It wasn't good, it was amazingly good. Being from NY I was asked how it fare against NY dogs, and I have to say, this was way better. I have to praise the chef there, he or she made a tasty loaded dog! Also I have to forget the fries as well, they had sour cream and onion seasoning that pairs excellent with their offerings, not just the special. Well done!

I peeped the sign and 'Unc' short for Uncle came to my window. He greeted me and was warm, friendly and told me that everything on his menu was outstanding. #Facts I settled on the Razzle Dazzle Dog that had a honey mustard and cranberry slaw topping. It was refreshing, satisfying and I had never had a salad topping on a hot dog before. Living in Texas over the last 6 years had cornered me into chili dogs and such, but the Razzle Dog was a tastier and much healthier option. It was served on an oversized bun and it was well worth the $6.00 price tag. By the time I had gotten home, a mere short 5 minutes... the Razzle Dog had been nearly consumed and I debated heading back for seconds. Since I had just finished my workout, I decided to let the fat girl in me sleep and posted the greatness to Instagram and Facebook.
