I made reservations for my father-in-law at Columbia Cottages for two nights then called the next…read moreday to add the day before as well. When my father-in-law called from Spokane to tell them he was running late they did not have the added reservation. When he checked in the next day this was his report: the beds are 2" foam pads on plywood (hard on an older person's body), the water tank was 4 gallons so he took a cold shower, the small wall heater did not adequately heat the cottage, and even after he closed all the other bedroom doors it was still VERY cold and there was coffee maker with no coffee. When I had made the reservation I was specific about charging the room to me because my father-in-law was coming to help work on our house, yet when he checked in the owner, Art Grobbin asked him if he wanted to pay instead, which he did. When I called to straighten out the billing Art said that the credit card company would charge him to cancel one card and bill the other. I told him he should absorb that minor cost given that they screwed up the reservation, and before I had time to say the accommodations were also sorely lacking, Art said I sounded like a crappy person, and to not do business with him in the future, and hung up on me. Poor accommodations, poor service, poor business dealings = a bad Yelp review!
