President of the Brookfield neighborhood association and chair of the local voting precinct. As such, Hoskins Park was renamed in her honor. She passed this year. https://www.legacy.com/obituaries/name/eva-barber-obituary?pid=195376800 The park takes up the full city block at 16 acres. It features a large open multi-purpose field, a full court basketball court (hoops have been removed for the pandemic) and a really nice playground with a mulch base (closed for the pandemic). However there are walking trails around the park and these are open, sp practice your social distancing as you're exercising. The picnic shelter has a few tables and a grill. The park does not have much parking. [Review 13148 overall, 465 of 2020.]

Unfortunately, this park left a lot to be desired. While there were some great aspects, the…read morenegatives were too great. Here's the skinny: No actual parking lot. I parked on small gravel that might be considered a parking area. Sand volleyball court Basketball court Two shelters with tables and benches 2-5 play set A climbing structure A 5-12 lone slide Mulch floors Sketchy neighborhood We left this park early, I couldn't shake the uneasy feeling. It didn't help that across the street were loose CHICKENS or that a man rode in on a motorcycle and used the park to do tricks. Overall this park didn't do it for me, and I doubt I'll ever be going back.

Kiddie pool area perfect for toddlers. Two twin slides for the young kids and plenty of chairs and lounges to relax. Their clubhouse is brand new and hosts a check in desk, beer & wine bar, and snack shop. Bring your own food or have theirs it's all good. They just ask that beer and wine are purchased on property. Pool is open Memorial Day to Labour Day approximately. The highlight of the property is the clay tennis courts excellently maintained. 8 courts in all. They have 4 pickleball courts as well. All courts are lighted and well maintained. This club is full of fun/competitive adults and kids of all experience levels. They have a couple on site pro's that can get your game to wherever you want. They also have adult learn to play, men's/women's leagues and competitive tennis all the way up the rating ladder. Club is family owned and they love tennis and pickleball. They both work to put on wine nights, group events, kids pool parties and in my opinion the dues are cheap. Check them out if you need some pool time, a gym, club, tennis/pickle courts or just a sense of community.
