I can't thank Chris, Alex, and Dan enough for restoring my photos at LC Technology. After taking over 1000 photos that were stored on my SD card, I mistakenly deleted every one of those irreplaceable photos. Someone suggested that I contact LC Technology, a company that specializes in data recovery. Well, they successfully restored all those invaluable photos. Then recently, I took some photos on what I would describe as a corrupted SD card, again losing access to my photo items. I immediately contacted Chris at LC Technology and once again their professionalism and expertise restored my data. I give LC Technology, Chris, Alex, and Dan a 10 out of 10 star rating. Disappointed I was referred to LC Technologies by SanDisk for the recovery of a blocked thumb drive. I did research and read reviews about the company and felt encouraged that they could retrieve data from a flash drive that was not appearing on three computers tested. I had tried all the troubleshooting suggestions I found online, a couple of which recommended LC Tech. I sent in the disrupted drive along with a new (still in package) thumb drive onto which the data could be transferred. I received an acknowledgement e-mail from 'Sabrina' telling me that the drive had been received and that data retrieval efforts had begun. In that message, she also indicated that I would be kept apprised of progress. The drives were physically received three days prior (per shipment tracking) but this did not concern me as I surmised that it could take days for ship-ins to be processed. Three weeks later I still hadn't heard from LC Technologies so I sent an e-mail message asking for a status. I received no reply. At this point I began to wonder if indeed work had actually started on my device. Another week later, I communicated with Sabrina expressing my thoughts that the process had taken long enough and that the drives be returned to me. That got a response. In an e-mail reply Sabrina wrote that recovery could take up to a month. She also wrote that she'd have my drives returned the next day. I replied as soon as I saw her message (same day, within two hours) that I was willing to wait out the month since it was nearly that anyway, had I known that. Days later I received the two drives; the new one still in its package and mine - in pieces! Not even the courtesy to reassemble the drive for return to me in the condition in which it was received by them. Not good business. While there are a number of rave reviews online, I cannot in good conscience, corroborate them. I will defer recommendation of LC Technologies for data recovery but I will concede 'consumer beware'. read more

I called LC Technology a bit stressed about a CF card with 900 client images that was not reading on my computer and showing no images. I spoke to Chris and he recommended I call the company who makes the cards "Sandisc" and start with them. He said if that didn't solve the issue, to call him back and he would see how to help. He also spent time on the phone with me going over the issues I was having and looking at possible solutions whether it was buying their software recovery program or working with another company other them LC Technology that could handle the issue. He directed me right and didn't just try to sell me his program. I was able to get my images and if I ever need a recovery program in the future I will def contact LC Tech. My Western Digital media card was returned in a plastic ziplock type bag. LC Technology never admitted that they lost the original plastic protective case. They kept giving me one excuse after another. "We found the card and it was mailed to you." Twice I was told that "I will mail it on my way home." Or, "You can buy a replacement for about a dollar on Amazon," etc. A complaint letter to the company CEO was never replied to. This should tell you a lot about how this company feels about its customers. LC Technology is recommended by Western Digital. It would have been easy for them to get me a replacement case. read more

LC technology is a scam. It doesn't matter if Sandisk refers them to customers. This is not a corporation. This is literally a one man operation. After scanning my software and picking up the files, the videos wouldn't play. What good does it do you to scan files if the software won't allow you to play videos or open pictures? After scanning the SD card the third time, the software deletes all files on my SD card and wiped my valuable data clean. Customer service was horrible it was as though I had to figure things out on my own through the trouble shooting process. read more

I can't say enough good things about these guys. I just got back from a work trip with gopro hero10 footage - that I needed urgently - stored on a corrupted SD card. The gopro wouldn't recognize it, my PC wouldn't recognize it either. I talked to gopro and sandisk, plus downloaded and tried ibeesoft and recuva recovery software and neither one of those worked. Then I called LC Technology, talked to a real person on the phone (Chris!), and bought the RescuePro Deluxe software. I was skeptical after my prior two attempts at recovery with the two other software options. I was ready to send my card into LC's lab for manual recovery at much higher $$ but they suggested I try their off the shelf software first. IT WORKED! Would not recommend. I had a bad experience with one of their products. The product could not find my card, and kept crashing. It also had windows popping up in another language - not English. It behaved strangely like a virus. The company could not explain why it crashed, and why the windows were coming up in Spanish. They proceeded to tell me it was a user error, and would not give me a refund. This program cost me time and money. Their response to my problem was that it was a user error and ignored the other issues I mentioned in my emails to them. I would not purchase from them. However, if you do, go via PayPal, as PayPal got me my money back. They state they do not refund on activated software. But the software I activated failed - so how does that work? read more

Magic! It is true - video can be recovered by LC Technologies! In 36 hours they will find your video footage from a formatted SD card and save your day! Just send them any video storage card or drive (I sent a 64G San Disc SD card). Overnight shipping and they spent the day recovering 34gigs of missing video footage for me and my client. I want to take this opportunity to share with you a wonderful, in fact, several wonderful experiences I had with LC Technology International. In April, while deleting some unwanted photos from my digital camera, I got a message that the memory was empty. I could not retrieve any pictures. I was referred to LC. My first contact was with Rachel Zimmerman who was a blessing. She was so responsive, helpful, friendly and accommodating. I hated calling and bothering her so many times, but I am somewhat technologically challenged. But each and every time, she was the friendly voice on the other end of the phone. I truly felt like I had a friend at LC. Rachel was such a comfort and definitely the "silver lining" in my cloud. (I thought I had lost all my precious vacation and family photos forever.) Rachel referred me to Rico, who was very helpful and friendly and gave me step by step directions for using the product. And my last call was with Alex, who helped me complete the process. I encountered 3 members of your staff and ALL of them provided superior customer service. This occurred more than two months ago, but the impression it has made has not faded. As a photographer probably our worst collective nightmare is the failure of technology. Whether it be a hard drive or a compact flash card, not being able to deliver captured memories to your paying clients is not only a huge disappointment, but a reflection of your professionalism - even if the data loss wasn't your fault. That was the unfortunate boat I was in a few weeks ago, a compact flash card failed. After shooting a portrait session with some 300+ images I was unable to get the card to read on any of my computers. It had no physical damage, but obviously something was up. So left without many options I knew that I could either A) re-shoot the session and risk upsetting the client, or B) first attempt to recover the files. B sounded like a more pleasant phone conversation. So I sent the card in to LC Technology because they are the company San Disk recommends on their website. $225 to recover a 16GB card. When they received the card the representative (I've only dealt with one person) told me that he had exhausted what he could attempt with software and that he'd have to have a technician pull the chips out. Sounded pretty ominous. It was slow going but a day or two later I got a message from someone that they had success! Only a COUPLE (yes that was their terminology) of images were unsalvageable. Le sigh. When I got the CD back from them only about 50% of the images were able to be opened in Lightroom. So obviously having expected to be able to use all but maybe a handful of the images I was obviously disappointed. The following is the dialog via email between myself and their representative: Me- "Quite a few of the files that I had selected to edit that looked normal (previewed fine in Photomechanic) could not be opened in Lightroom. The error message was, "An unexpected end of file occurred." Ultimately 172 of the 320 files suffered either from this message or were just completely corrupt. I ended up having to extract the JPEG previews from Photomechanic to find enough usable files to deliver to the client. I'm thankful that I had enough to do this, but pretty disappointed that we were told to expect only a couple of files to not be recoverable. It would seem to me that some sort of partial refund might be in order." Him- "Lightroom is very particular about what it will open. We have found that saving a raw file in any other program rewrites the markers and then the file will open in Lightroom." Me- "Okay... well the only other program I used that opens RAW files is Adobe Camera RAW which had less success than Lightroom. Can you recommend to me anything that will open the files? Over 50% of the files you guys sent back to me I can't do anything with." Him- "Everything should open in Faststone. " Me- "Okay, I've never heard of Faststone. I looked it up, and it doesn't appear to have a Mac compatible version. Also if I was going to need to pay for additional software to be able to view the files you guys were sending I feel like that should have been communicated up front. To be honest I'm not getting the impression you are interested in helping me, is there another person within your company that you can refer me to?" Him- "I have been stalling waiting to get with the tech who did the recovery." Me- "I suppose that is potentially good news. If rerunning it produces images that I can open in Lightroom and/or ACR can you guys overnight a disc to me? I am beginning to get into a time crunch with delivering the session to the client." Him- "We should be able to upload them to an FTP site." I was a bit surprised by his admission to stalling for time. How about just telling me the truth? Anyhow a couple of days later he emails me again - Him- "Upon further testing, it was not a setting issue but data errors. These can be repaired manually but it takes an hour or so for each photo. Our head of support is willing to do this for a few photos if you can provide the image numbers for one that you really need." Well at this point I think he should have been more than willing. I paid to get this data back and it's not my fault that what they initially sent me hadn't been checked out to even work. But I sent him in 10 or files that I would like to have saved. A day later I get a link to download some files. I get back 150 TIFF files (mind you I really am wanting RAW), some that I already had. Seriously weird. And I highly doubt this technician spent 150 man hours working on it. Ultimately I will be able to deliver my photos to my client, and no re-shoot was necessary. LC Tech was really a lifesaver, albeit one with poor communication skills. I still think some sort of partial refund was in order but at the end of the day the client having their photos is all that matters. read more

File recovery is never guaranteed, you pay for the service, which is simply an attempt at recovering any data. If I could give this company negative stars, I would. DO NOT PURCHASE THIS SOFTWARE. I downloaded the demo to make sure that this would help me recover my files and the demo was able to scan my usb drive, pull up my files and everything appeared normal. All the names were the same, everything was there, etc. In order to save the files I had to buy the product and because I was looking at all the correct files, I figured this was the software I would use to recover those files. No! I purchased the software, saved all the files and when I tried opening the files everything was corrupt and not able to be opened. Highly recommend not purchasing! I called customer service and they basically told me to get lost and that the software does not always work and once they give you a serial number, there is no refund. She told me "Right on the website it says once the serial number is released, we can't refund you and I let her know that the website does not say "Does not work for everyone" Customer Service sucks. Their demo version indicates the software is able to undelete many files, but once you pay for the full version, you come to find that those files are full of total junk in most cases -- it can only recover a few files successfully, while the unrelated free and open source program PhotoRec can recover many thousand files correctly from the same drive in my case. However, LC Technology OFFERS NO REFUNDS, EVER. Absolutely do not use them. I sent a 64 gb CF card to them in November, and I had to consistently follow up with them to check on the status of my card. They told me it was unrecoverable after I had to follow up again, and then at the end of March called me to tell me that they had recovered it. I followed up with an email to see if they would send the files back to me at a discounted rate because I had pursued other means to redo the video that I thought was lost. They did not respond to the email and when I followed up again they told me they don't know who receives the emails via their contact page and they had deleted my video files. I am very happy with my experience with LC Technology Intl, Inc. I mailed out my SD card for a quote to recover my files, after searching everywhere for a decent recovery company. James from LC Tech quoted me an excellent and fair price compared to other places. They were very quick in contacting me to let me know the cost. And when I mailed my SD card to them, the next day they recovered the files and mailed it right back to me. Excellent service! Very happy with them because they were efficient and honest. I simply dropped the CF card, three feet from camera to concrete, at the end of a commercial video shoot. The card would not read in camera or on computer. That was November, 2013. Thankfully, we were shooting the interview with dual cameras with different lenses, so the interview was safe. Still, we wanted the alternate for editing options, so went sent it to LC Tech for recovery. After three months, I called for the status. "It's on the bench right now. The techs are looking at it," said James, the rep. "It should be done tomorrow." After two weeks, I called again. "It's on the bench right now. The techs are looking at it," James said - again. "It should be done tomorrow." After FIVE more calls over two months, I came to understand that that was James' stock answer. Each time, James assured me with absolute certainty that I would have the data tomorrow. I asked to speak to the General Manager or the CEO. The receptionist asked me to hold. James answered. "Yep, it's on the bench. The techs are working on it. We almost have it. Should be done tomorrow." At six months -- April 2014, I called James for the last time. Well after the project was edited, approved and delivered, I gave up and cancelled the order. "Why, now that we have recovered the data, are you canceling the order?" James asked me. Really James? They strung us along for six months promising they "absolutely" could recover the data. LC Technologies could not deliver. The customer service is abysmal. If you're going to use this service, make sure you get a delivery date in writing, or be willing to wait for as long as LC Technologies sees fit. read more

I am very very VERY unhappy with this company and the service I have received. Before I bought the program I told the service rep it was specifically for go pro video. He told me to buy the delux in that case and it will work 100% ... After buying and downloading it I found out it didn't work. I asked him what I did wrong.. he then claimed " oops, it was for go pro video,, that;s right.. it doesn't work for go pro... then continued to tell me to send it in to the company and pay 300$ ++ to retrieve the data. I told him I just want my money back. He said because it was already downloaded I could not. But it was his fault for telling me it would work no problem. I called their office- they told me I should get a refund and the matter was sent to the boss. after 3 weeks of not hearing anything from anyone I finally get an email from the original service rep saying I could buy another program that would help. By this time, I had already gone to another company , and all I wanted was a refund. Now weeks later again, not hearing from anyone. I am just plain disgusted at how this matter has been handled. All I want is my money back after being mislead by this company to buy a program that wouldn't actually work. If I had not told them what it was for originally I could understand.
