But it's the largest liquor store I've ever been in. I've done a lot of traveling worldwide too, so that's saying something. Anyways, on with the review: Atmosphere/Environment - Huge! Very big. If you are looking for that odd spirit from that country that might not be a country anymore, this is the LCBO to go to and see if it's available. It is a bit of a maze. So much so, I think they should have a map at the front entrance of the store. Like how the malls do. And this isn't a joke. I think this one LCBO should have it. Customer Service - I've had a 100% success rate at meeting very friendly customer service staff. And extremely helpful. There was one however who was a bit socially-awkward and kept talking to us way after our transaction was over. He also slowed down the speed of the transaction once he heard what we were talking about and wanted to jump in. I don't mind a bit of conversation but within reason. And this went way beyond that. However I would like to do a shout-out to a staff member named Jeremy. He helped my friend and I purchase close to a grand in alcohol, her parents had a lot of events about to happen and they are generous. Jeremy was fast, very friendly, extremely knowledgeable, and when he didn't know, he knew who to ask. He's one of those staff members you know should be promoted but you hope doesn't because you need him for days like the one we had. Selection - Magnificent. Conclusion: Go here. Forget any other LCBO. Okay they are all pretty good, but this one seems to be special. read more

This is hands-down the slickest liquor store in town. The building used to be a Beer Store (which has since moved across Scrivener Square), but before that, it was a train station; it's been totally renovated as a flagship LCBO. They still kept the "train" theme, with different sections of the store called "tracks." It makes it a little hard to get around at first, but all the twists and turns keep the store's vastness from overwhelming you. All the great things about the LCBO are super-sized at this one: plenty of tastings and events, a monstrous vintages section, and an impressive amount of ultra-pricey high-end liquor that I could never afford to get sloshed from. But it makes for great window-shopping. Only a few minor complaints: the beer selection isn't as interesting as I would like for a store this size, and the bourbon selection (since I happened to be on the lookout for a gift for a bourbon-imbibing pal) consists of the same three brands as at every other LCBO. read more

This place is the crown jewel of LCBO stores. It is easily 3-4 times larger than the average LCBO store with a much larger selection. The Vintages section of wines here is as big as the average LCBO by itself. I found the staff here to be more attentive and knowledgeable than some other stores. The selection of wines is impressive!! Selection is better here, and the shelves are well-stocked. For example, if the average store has two or three flavours of Absolut vodka, there may be 6-7 here. read more

Consider yourself warned. This might be my happy place. The Summerhill LCBO is a beautiful building, clean, calm (with the exception of the night before a long weekend), and it boasts a favourable staff-to-shopper ratio. Needing a special gift for a 30th birthday, I had a staff member spend close to an hour with me going over the various options for unique gifts (we settled on a 30 year old bottle of port). To throw out some more positives: there's ample parking 'round the side, a good layout that categorizes wine by region, and (please note upcoming caps) A TASTING ROOM. Yep. Game on, liver. I had a visitor this weekend and we went to the Summerhill LCBO as a destination. We then impulse-purchased cake-flavoured vodka. But that's a story for another site. The nicest LCBO I have been to. They have an incredibly large section, especially the vintages. The fact that it's in an old train station make it really beautiful. I've only been here a handful of times, but they always have something going on in their event section. The last time it was a Caribbean theme and they had music, rum to taste, and an assortment of cold and hot food. There were a bunch of brochures and treat bags as well. They will actually throw private parties in there too with cooking and wine tastings. read more

The flagship LCBO in Ontario, it's an old train station beautifully converted and respected in terms of architecture. Out of all the LCBO's this one is the one i thoroughly enjoy spending my money on. A trip to the LCBO is usually a stroll to what you need and a cashier visit. At this LCBO, it's always more of an experience for me personally. It's a time to browse, to learn, to speak with staff, to expand my mind a little bit really. You could easily get lost in their vintage, liquor or beer section. I really really wish i could crack open a beer and shop here. It would make it that much more awesome. read more

This is a serious LCBO. Sure, they still think that a French wine that is dated 2010 (in 2012) is considered "vintage" (what a load of BS marketing), but at least they have a wide selection. I found the store massive, full of shelves and shelves of booze (I don't drink, BF does), well organized, and with a great variety. Probably THE BEST LCBO I've ever been in. Probably the worst recurring customer service out of any LCBO I've visited on weekends. The Saturday night staff are always miserable, power-tripping thugs. I've been refused service for no reason, seen others challenged about their age even after presenting valid government issued ID, and it is very difficult to find an employee who is willing and happy to give you advice on products or direct you to its various sections during its busy hours. One feels like he or she is being treated the way a roided-up bouncer at a nightclub would treat his patrons rather than by dedicated customer service individuals. OMG!!! This place is about as good as it ever gets for a liquor store. Its sheer scale is enormous. Its historical significance is surreal. They have transformed the old train platforms into aisles and dotted the place with vintage photos of yesteryear. Put simply, there is something for everyone here. Wines - all types and an amazing vintage selection Beer - there is a walk in beer cooler and the craft beer on tap at the Growler bar. Want to taste test? There is a taste test bar and you can also taste test at he growler bar. Want to learn? There is a huge space dedicated to events that is usually sold out. The staff - are so friendly and helpful. Its hours are wonderful, they are open till 10pm many nights. You are sure to find whatever it is you need and at whatever price point you wish to pay. What an amazing place. read more

Walked into this store just to grab a small bottle, and my friend and I were harassed by store security. As it was pride and I​ knew we were going to be out all day, I brought a large bag with a change of clothing and a few other essentials. As soon as we walked past this security​ guard, he was staring at me and my bag​ and he soon began to follow us through the store. Paying no mind, we walked around to find a bottle and I saw a limited edition bottle of Ciroc. I took my phone out of the front pocket of my bag to take a photo as I thought I might purchase this flavor later. At this moment the guard yelled to another guard walking by that he had "got us." He then proceeds to walk up to us, saying that as soon as we leave we "are subject to a search." I then proceeded to open my bag to show him the bottles of water, and wallet I had in the front pocket, and all he had to say was "everyone makes mistakes." His attitude was awful and intimidating, we left very quickly after that. Will not be returning to this location! read more

Writing a review for a liquor store might seem strange to some people; however, this particular location is the crème de la crème of booze boutiques. Imagine yourself entering a shrine to the goddess alcohol - a gallery of beer, a museum of wine. The selection is nearly unbeatable, but its the building itself that provides a pleasing aesthetic to even the most discerning eye. Fave LCBO, i already made a quick tip but im on a spree of writing reviews of things ive been to multiple times to give a fair review but I LOVE this place. SOOOO many options about everything. The location is gorgeous and HUGE. yes the caps are for extra emphasis. Each region/country has its own section in the store. For just browsing around expect a good 40 mins walk around. The have cooking and wine tasting classes you can sign up for weekly. The employees are really knowledgable, they ask all the appropriate questions to find you the right alcohol for any event. The best LCBO around, by far. I love the fact that it's located inside an old railway station, and their selection is second to none. The staff are friendly and it's right beside the subway station. The only downside is limited parking at the back, and the staff are always out front telling people to move their cars. read more

My favourite part about this place? Hands down the staff. They are just amazing, courteous, knowledgable and so helpful. I have other LCBOs closer to me but this one is a nice walk and worth the exercise, plus the selection is beyond expectations. if i could give this place zero stars i would. i USED TO BE a regular here as i live down the street. literally here almost every weekend and most of the cashiers have seen me many times and have zero issue checking me out. today however i was not purchasing and therefor did not bring my wallet. my boyfriend grabbed his alcohol and put it on the counter and went to grab another case of something and the person in front of us finished so i moved the bottles we had already up to the cash. LITERALLY PUT MY HAND ON THE ALCOHOL FOR LESS THAN FIVE SECONDS and the cashier asked for my id i explained i didn't have it and i wasn't paying and had not touched the bottles for longer than a second. they still would not check out my boyfriend without MY ID. i get it if you're carrying multiple bottles down the store and are not a regular and maybe look very young? but none of those apply to me. i gave them my birthday and many pieces of online banking ID and they still refused to check him out. the staff was incredibly rude and mocking and were quite aggressive in pushing me out. definitely will not be giving that store my business anymore. staff has no customer service experience and are quite threatening to a young woman. read more

I went in this afternoon to purchase a bottle of wine. I had a photo of the bottle and proceeded to the area that sells french wine (the wine was from France) I approached an employee showed her the picture and asked if she could point me in the general direction to where the wine might be found. She replied that she was busy in a very rude tone and told me she would assist me in a couple of minuets. I proceeded to try to locate the wine but was unsuccessful. I then had noticed that she had disappeared. I walked around the store and spotted her. I approached her again this time asking her for her name. She replied "Melanie" and then she request why I asked. I told her that I was going to post a review on Yelp regarding the way she had treated me. She then went on to say that she was looking for me for the past 10 minuets. I had never left the French wine section and realized that she was only saying this to cover her end. I then approached another employee (young male asian gentlemen) and asked if I could speak with the manager. He replied that he needed to know the reason why... I realized at this point that I should just leave. Why would I need to tell him why?? read more
