Nestled right in the middle of our historic downtown, it has so much character and charm. The vibe is so welcoming it honestly feels like hanging out at a friend's house. Liberty Café nearby consistently serves better coffee for less, making it difficult to justify coming here. What ultimately lost my business was how I was treated by the owner. After being a regular customer and spending hundreds of dollars there over time, I was abruptly told to leave because "it's not a coworking space, it's a coffee shop." I fully understand that a business has the right to set policies about how long customers stay. My issue wasn't the policy--it was the way it was handled. Instead of politely explaining the policy or asking me to wrap up, the owner spoke to me in a confrontational, condescending, and dismissive manner. It was unnecessarily hostile. There were plenty of open tables, I wasn't preventing other customers from finding seating, I was quiet, respectful, and continued purchasing drinks and food while I worked. At no point was I causeing a disturbance or creating a problem for the business. The owner is free to run the business however he chooses, and I'm equally free to spend my money elsewhere. Between the mediocre coffee and the disrespectful treatment I received as a loyal customer, I won't be returning. If you're looking for a coffee shop with better coffee and a genuinely welcoming atmosphere, I'd recommend Liberty Café instead.

While driving I noticed the billboard mentioning Bella Mercantile, so I looked it up online and found the few reviews up convincing enough to give the place a peek. We were quite astounded by the selection in every area! A lot of the products are imported and of very high quality. Lots of nice ceramic items from Poland, Mexico, Tunisia, as well as cutlery from Japan and France. Some things are even made in the USA and Germany. There are things manufactured in China, but they looked sturdy, too. Lots of serious baking and cooking tools, locally made aprons (I think), even other home supplies like bedding sheets, towels, pillows, and rugs made in India. They also have a lot of finer gourmet foods from around the world in the middle section of the shop. We found everything we needed and more. Some of the products are higher priced and others are quite a bargain...so the store should have something suitable for just about anyone who prefers to shop in a more crafted space. The two women working there were super friendly, knowledgeable and quick to offer help. They seemed genuinely happy to there which always makes a big difference. I took a bunch of photos so anyone curious about what is on offer, the handful of photos currently available online don't do it justice. We will definitely be back!
