Yes, the place is a bit of a college pub and the food is no better than average pub food (with the exception of the awesome and MASSIVE chicken wings) but the atmosphere is great. It is a proper locals pub (complete with bar regulars) that oozes character. The sadly rarely open upstairs is a beautiful intimate lounge that has a piano and bay windows while the most often open downstairs is a standard pub but with walls that are covered in old beer cans and bottles as well as old serving trays. If you ever needed to know every advertising slogan from the long gone Dow Brewery, just go to the lion and look at the walls. The patio is also great, right in the centre of Lennoxville, which is a great place to people (and truck) watch. The beer is the real selling point and their major selling point. They have a great variety of brews made next door and the prices are very good. My personal favourite is the Bitter, but that is not for everyone as it will punch you in the face with hoppiness. The most popular is the Pride, an English style Brown ale that ranks with the best Brown's I have had anywhere. The Amber is quite popular as well, but It's not as good as I remember it from my college days, maybe back then I just hadn't tried enough new beers. They also do a good pale ale, that goes down well on a hot day on the patio but I usually prefer the darker beers. They also have seasonal beers as well that are good, including a popular blueberry beer in the summer.

If you are not hiking, come here and try food that looks and smells fantastic. So, if you are a fan of outstanding brews and want to get that hoppy breath, this is an excellent embassy for drafts. Brasseurs du Moulin offers some of the best stouts, Scotch ales and IPAs in Quebec. Unfortunately, they are not so known nor easy to find in depanneurs or beer stores (No reference to the Ontario shop). The names and drawings of each draft are as fantastic as their taste and texture. I came here during winter and enjoyed several pub games and the people here. The service was great. I had a great conversation with their staff. If I had to guess, the view of the mountain and the river in summer should improve this pub's ambience. Something to love is visiting a town in Quebec and finding a local brewery that makes more of a mark than historical sites. Je reviendrai bientôt pour boire une autre pinte.

There are classic pub games available, like foosball, but you can also ask for games to play at your table. The decor is very amusing and beer-based! The staff is very kind and keeps the place clean. A variety of brews are available here; they also have a few cider options for the gluten-free folks. My friend had a poutine and they gave it an 8/10 ! The gravy is made with beer and gives the poutine a unique and pleasant tang. I will definitely be returning and planning more reunions with friends at this location!
