Since I am very fond of the Cambodian cuisine and the French colonized Cambodia for almost 90 years, hoping to find some excellent grub. My friend who's been at this restaurant a few years back dragged me here for a lunch break even though it was a bit out of the way from where we were sightseeing. They must be popular in the neighborhood and in high demand - we went to their two "petit" locations (which didn't serve noodles with soup) before ending up at this "proper" location. All three locations were within walking distance & owned/operated by the same people. I'm very glad he dragged me here. They served both Cambodian & Vietnamese dishes. We had the spring rolls, pho with fried spring rolls & Cambodian chicken soup (I didn't realize this was served with rice, I requested to switch it out with noodle) along with fresh lemonade. Everything was authentic, delicious, vegetables were super fresh/plentiful and the meat (chicken, beef, pork) was tasty & cooked just right. I can see why it's very popular. I would definitely come back again & pay my friend forward by bringing others who haven't been here. There was indoor & outdoor seating. Be warned, the tables were very close to each other, the chairs were tiny and the table was tiny - we had to juggle all our orders. Also, beware smokers if you grab an outdoor table. When we found a Cambodian restaurant in Paris, we had to try it! We didn't expect the restaurant to look so classy and couldn't find it right away! They have an English menu. My boyfriend who speaks Cambodian was impressed with the way the Parisian servers pronounced the dishes. The Shrimp Spring Rolls were good! They use very thin vermicelli so it the fish sauce really gets soaked into the Spring Rolls well. The Shrimp taste very fresh and sweet. Somlam Tchou was very sweet... too sweet and it was hard to finish. The flavor was pretty overwhelming. Nom Peuchok was ok... it's a mix of coconut milk with curry powder. I'm not too sure how this dish is actually suppose to taste in Cambodia, but it was a little boring. The flavor was just coconut milk and there wasn't any interesting kick. Nothing that impressed me. There is some white fish in there, but it didn't accentuate the flavor :( read more

Not sure where you're from but I'm pretty sure this is not considered authentic Cambodian food. The curry was tomato based and the Bobun is a vermecilli bowl which is pretty good, however traditionally a Vietnamese dish. I think it's geared more towards "parisians" definitely not an authentic Cambodian restaurant. read more

This place is awesome!!!!!! My sister and I were looking for some Asian Restuarant around the area cuz it's close to our hotel. We got here around 9:30pm on Thursday night and it's so packed, only 4 seats left. The server was super nice and he speaks good English (thanks god cuz they don't have menu in English) he explained everything for us even he was super busy. The foods came out pretty fast and so good. If u never have Cambodia food before, to be award that the noodles soup is kinda sweet and everything else is perfect ;) We will def come back when we visit Paris again. read more

Wow this place exceeded my expectations. Never had Cambodian food before but definitely a fan now. I guess it tasted like a sweeter version of Vietnamese food to me. All menus in French only, we got the beef summer rolls (good with amazing sauce), beef soup -which comes with noodles and the bay bon, a mixed dish of beef onion and shrimp over vermcelli with lettuce and mint and bean sprouts to wrap it in. I would give this 10 stars if I could. We got it to go as the restaurant had a wait and was full. That was the first hint that it was good. Our food was ready in 15 minutes and nicely packaged. We ordered the egg rolls, curry chicken, lemongrass beef and the shrimp bobuns. Savory dishes that left us wanting more. Just the right amount of spice with lovely flavor. What a cute little restaurant that serves great authentic Cambodian dishes. The egg rolls were awesome, and came with all the lettuce and bean sprouts for you to wrap with. So wandering around the streets of the Latin Quarter starving and soaked through I happened across Le Cambodge a Vietnamese/Laos/Cambodian restaurant situated in small inconspicuous strip of restaurants. Entering this restaurant I already decided I need an appetizer, meal, and desert so I ordered one of the prix fixed meals. I started with a shrimp salad with shredded papaya-delish to say the least. Then I followed this course with steamed cod carefully wrapped in a bamboo leaf and followed by a very eggy flan. It was all good but I tend to like my flan on the sweeter side... While in Paris we experienced the Cambodian food. We were desperately seeking a Chinese restaurant but to no avail. Luckily, we ran into a British guy that knew exactly where a Cambodian restaurant was and out of desperation we agreed that would suffice. After he mockingly yelled, "You want Chinese food here in Paris? Are you F@%ing jokin mon?" and we all had a hearty laugh he pointed us to the right location. The area was quant similar to NYC the real estate is hard to come by in Paris so we had to make way for a family of five right in the middle of the kitchen traffic, this was not pleasant but the food made up for it. Lot's of varieties to choose from, tasteful and although not a direct Cambodian fanny I enjoyed the mix of noodle, vegetable and curry sauce known as kroeung. Yes, similar to Indian curry but straight out of the Khmer kitchen although, geographically it did not make sense....Indian curry in a Cambodian restaurant in the middle France they still came out with four stars after all why should I penalize them for my ignorance right? read more

It was a perfect evening in June, and we sat on the (surprisingly smoke-free patio) with my buddy, Robert . We started with a nice carafe of rose, and they even brought a little ice. We sipped while we perused the menu. We had no idea what Cambodian food was, exactly. The waiter was incredibly helpful, and we asked for a recommendation for entree and he said the nems- so we ordered the nems. Nems, apparently, are little fried cousins of eggrolls from what I can tell. We wrapped them in lettuce, sprinkled them with mint and bamboo sprouts, and doused with the sauce et voila! A delicious little lettuce wrap. My buddy ordered the boef au citron and ate every morsel. I had the bobun special with crevettes (shrimp) - basically a giant noodle bowl, and DEVOURED IT! It was amazing! I will have cravings for this dish and expect I will have to return often!!! It was rather inexpensive too! 49 euros for two with wine, a starter, and two entrees. read more

This was our last meal, and one of the most memorable for me. It was off the beaten path, but worth coming to. I am Chinese Cambodian, and was born in Cambodia but raised in the US. My mom cooks both Chinese and Khmer food so I grew up eating both, and have been to both China and Cambodia and am a food lover to the nth degree. There's not really any Cambodian restaurants in the Midwest or in the US in general. I knew that with the French occupation and influence in Cambodia that I would have to find one in Paris, and this was a great selection. I have to say that this place isn't authentic in the sense that someone who is used to food being cooked a certain way by others - but doesn't necessarily make it right or good. I see that vermicelli noodles are used for the nam chau and the nom pecheuk, but I am not sure if it's a result on the limitations and type of imports the France makes for these kinds of products. I actually appreciated the choice on this as it did seem to soak in the flavor of sauces pretty well and is used in bang hoy anyways. My fiance and I were one of the firsts to be seated at 7pm or so, which might be early in European standards for dinner. We did not make reservations, but I hear it might be worth it as the place can get busy. Our waitress took us to a seat outdoors based on our preference, and I set us down with some menus. They are working on an English version, but I asked if there was also someone here that is Cambodian that might also be helpful to translate. She said just a little old lady who is the owner and hard of hearing. I started with the Cambodian beer. I got the spring roll with shrimp and the nom pecheuk and my fiance got the lok lak without vegetables. So let me just say that my fiance doesn't really eat Asian food at all (I know quite the opposite from me) and he ate all the rice and beef - which is pretty amazing. I have to say that my parents are the best cooks I know, but this nom pecheuk was actually better than my mom's and this is saying a lot. The flavors were well thought of complex and bold - just when I thought she might have forgotten the sweet sauce I tasted it in there. I felt like the dish was taken to another level where the traditional dish got a new makeover, and was made even better. The little old lady came out to meet me and we spoke Khmer for a little bit, and she is the sweetest thing. I can only imagine years of her cooking and the recipes she has. The presentation of the food was awesome I wished I could have fit in dessert, but I ended the meal with a picture with her instead. The prices were reasonable and the service was great. The Cambodian proprietress, Indian chef, friendly service and an adoring local crowd made for a fantastic first meal in Paris. I can recommend their authentic food without reservations but if you have more than 4 people in your party, I suggest making one as it's a small place. I don't think they take reservations over the phone but we were able to get a table for 8 after putting in our name at the host stand. The host asked us to wait 45 minutes, which was the perfect amount of time to pop a bottle of wine at a nearby cellar. We came back hungry and ordered enough plates to pass around the table. The intricately seasoned Lok Lak is the best I've had outside of Cambodia and I couldn't get enough of the Ban Hoy my dad ordered. The crisp lettuce wrapped around fresh bean sprouts and delicately spiced pork is simple and stunning - a truly beautiful dish. One detail that Le Cambodge offered but many restaurants overlook is the sauces you see on tables everywhere in Southeast Asia: little pots of rice vinegar with crushed peanuts floating on the surface, fish sauce flecked with fresh red chilies and toxic-orange chili paste so spicy that it brings beads of sweat to your under-eyes. A lovely touch! We've only got a few days in Paris but I'm trying to get back to Le Cambodge for another Ban Hoy before we leave. I hope you get a chance to try it, we were happy we did. read more

Great Cambodgian/asian food restaurant. Been there many times over the last 2 years. I usually take one of their bobun or their soups. They're excellent, healthy, fresh and tasty. Plus, the price is decent (say, 13 euros for a bobun). The place is often busy, especially during the week-end. Since the restaurant does not take phone reservations, we usually show up at the restaurant, where the waiter books us a table 45min or an hour later, and then we would get a beer along the nearby Canal Saint-Martin before being called back by the waiter to get my table. read more

I stumbled upon this place accidentally when the place I was looking for was closed for holiday. I was with my 2 year old son and not being sure exactly what Cambodian food was, took a gamble that it would be a good place for us to eat lunch. We arrived early so was able to get a seat right away. The waiter recommended a dish for me (Bobun mixte) and one for my son. Both were fresh, delicious and seasoned very well. My son ate his without any problem (which is an added bonus because it had lots of vegetables). It was reasonably priced, extremely helpful waitstaff. Went to Le Cambodge based on friends' recommendations. I cannot share the extreme opinions - both good and bad - expressed in other reviews. This is a fairly straightforward, if slightly generic, southeast Asian eating experience. if you are used to a high standard of Asian food (such as you might find in LA, for example), you will not be impressed, but neither will you regret going here. If you are not, you will probably be pleasantly surprised. We went on a weekend evening, had no trouble getting a table, and staff were friendly. It's a little crowded, yes, but that's only a problem if you're looking for privacy. I would not bother going to Le Cambodge again, though. Life is short, and there are plenty of other options. read more
