    Parisian ham raclette
    Pat L.

I came in while traveling for work on a Sunday night, for a dinner alone. The service was brisk and warm, and it ended up getting reasonably crowded with mostly locals by the time I left. The flavors were completely on point for a very good fondue place in the alps. The Parisian ham was solid, and the table wine was delicious. It's decorated as an old ski chatel, and they manage to walk that line without feeling kitch-y, just making me want to go ski the alps again! Highly recommend if you're in the area.

melted cheese of raclette, use the knife to cut because it hardens very fast

Have you had fondue???????? I really wanted to try fondue once in my life!! Ok let's talk about my life with fondue: In QUEBEC, fondue is: - cheese fondue pot with meats, fruits, seafood - gravy fondue to cook raw duck meat, beef, your choice - Chinese hot pot In France, fondue is: - FONDUE. with cured meats and potatoes What I want is FONDUE. Real French fondue! And at Le Chalet de Neuilly they do the cheese-in-a-pot fondue with beeeeeeeeeeautiful cheese. And it's so so so super good. Creamy and can you finish it? YES. It turns out. WE CAN. Two fondues for a table of 6. The second fondue we ordered was the Raclette which is a giant cheese melted by two heat bars! The 22€ comes with grilled potatoes and charcuterie, and a mini butcher knife. To cut the solidified cheese after it's melted onto the plate, you need this butcher knife. To me it looked like technology from the future. I never saw this before!! That's why I gave you my history of fondue I know. Surprisingly I LOVE the Raclette more than I thought I would. More than that cheese pot. And of course I had fondue dinner with wine! How pretentiously Française and happy I was. Raclette!! I recommend. Yes the cheese pot I love it too. VERY FILLING!! But so good!! I would return. If this following list is not for you, I'd rather you save your money for nice French wine and seafood. FONDUE IS: - cheese, a ton of it - dip this cheese with baskets of bread and potatoes - and there's a plate of cured meats like prosciutto - you're filling your stomach with a LOT of cheese, bread, potatoes, and just a few pieces of cured meats.

The staff were all friendly and spoke English as well, so it was easy to order. They offer many types of cheese from regions of France, we ordered one of the cheese fondues and a salad. The fondues come with potatoes and bread. We enjoyed the salad and it provided some much needed veggies. The cheese fondue comes in a hotpot and you dip the bread and potatoes into it with a fondue fork. After trying it, I think I prefer cheese only when it's paired with meat, so I probably should've ordered the one with meat. It was also really late and I was quite tired from being out all day, so that may have also contributed to me feeling subpar about the meal. However, if you're a cheese lover, this restaurant should be right up your alley. Come here if you love cheese!

The staff is amazing: they are all polyglots. The hostess who welcomed us this evening spoke at least three languages (in the two minutes that I was within earshot): hashtag rockstar, hashtag goals, hashtag color me impressed. They are friendly, helpful, polite, and all about making sure you have a great evening. The menu is set: a welcome drink (they do offer both alcoholic and non-alcoholic options: kir) with a small charcuterie board to whet the appetite, followed by fondue of your choice: cheese with bread or a meat fondue (with four sauces). This comes with the famous biberon de vin--rouge ou blanc, comme vous voulez. After that, it is dessert: take your choice. When I was there, it was île flottante ou mousse au chocolate. J'ai pris l'île flottante et ma mère a pris le mousse au chocolate. They were both delicious. Alas, they didn't survive long enough to be photographed. RIP What really made this evening special for me was the camaraderie of the patrons: I came with my mom, but I met so many nice people. You will be sitting shoulder to shoulder with people who hailed from Italy and another traveler from the U.S. Everyone immediately became friends and shared travel recommendations. It was really quite nice. In case you are wondering, yes, they do sell the biberons, and yes, I did buy one. Absolutely worth it.

Best accidental discovery ever!…read more We were wandering the streets of Paris on our last night looking for a restaurant for one last memorable meal. On a whim we came in here because we saw that they served fondue and we thought that would be a good idea for supper. The restaurant name translates into "Fortunate like Alexander" in English. Did that ever turn out to be a fantastic decision. Read on to hear why. The restaurant's owner has to be one of the kindest, charismatic people that I have ever met. He welcomed us with open arms and we got to chat with him quite a bit and learn more about him. He also was very kind to us and gave us many free drinks just because he was a very generous person. This was completely unexpected and we were really grateful for this. In addition to a welcoming owner the atmosphere here in general was just relaxing and inviting. We got talking to the people at the table next to us and it turns out that they were regulars who lived in the neighbourhood and came here frequently because they had befriended the own. Meanwhile two buskers came by who played some mellow guitar music to add to the ambiance. Now I can finally talk about the food. We ordered a simple cheese fondue and it was wildly delicious. It came out very quickly and we enjoyed every mouthful. We were given plenty of bread to soak it all up and there was also a salad included so we could get some vegetables. Honestly my experience was so good here that I was almost sad to leave the restaurant at the end of the night. We wanted a memorable, final meal in Paris and boy did we ever get it. After eating here I feel fortunate like Alexander.
