For my mains I got Gnudi made from feta served on beetroot purée and warm melted goat cheese, it was pretty rich and filling. Hubby cancelled his mains and they did it without and fuss. Flavors of the foods were fine, just not impressed with the execution. When I go back to Montreal, I will try other places rather than go back to La Prunelle.

There is parking behind the restaurant and on the street in front of it, very easily accessible. We had a reservation for 7:30 and were seated around 7:40 (the place was packed and COVID measures were taken to ensure that everyone was safe). The service was impeccable. The waitress brought us the mussels menu, which is around 10 different flavours you can choose from unlimitedly for 25$. In addition to the mussel casserole, you get a plate of fries or salad, or a half and half of both. The fries and salad are also part of the all you can eat menu, you can order as many as you want. The mussels arrived hot, the different flavours were all really good (my personal favourites were Roquefort, 2B, Cowboy and Chorizo). As a fan of seafood, I was a little skeptical with the "all you can eat" formula, thinking the food might be less fresh or of lesser quality. However, I was pleased with the food and the quality of it, and how generous the portions were. The drink menu is very diversified as well, I had a delicious glass of Portuguese white wine for 7$. We started with two apps Chevre chaud poire pochee and Ris de veau croustillant. Chevre chaud is a little cheese pattie with warm cheese it was served on a little bit of salad. Ris de veau is 3 piece of fried calf. If you want to share your app I would go with the Chevre chaud. I thought the portion for Ris de veau was a little small. Right about now I noticed that everyone around us was getting some warm bread with butter. I looked at the menu to try and see if that was something we needed to order as an app. I did not see it on the menu so I assume it's just given as your app while you wait for your dinner. I got the beef tartar as my main dish. You have the option of picking between a garden salad or fries to go with it. I went with the fries. They are served with some mayo, just like I like it. The beef chart was delicious. Portion are good. This might also be an option if you want to share an app. It comes in two sizes, I got the bigger one. For dessert, I picked a crème brûlée with a cheese platter . Crème brûlée comes with a lovely crust , which I honestly enjoyed quite a lot. It is a very thin layer of crème brûlée with a thicker than usual sugar crust. The cheese platter came with three very small piece some bread and a jam. I would believe to be blueberries. With that single letter change comes a menu of --- dinner --- proportions; From tasty and smart appetizers like beet hummus and Chorizo pops to a signature (recipe) onion soup, then onto a fresh revisited Caesar salad leading into AAA steak, various seafood and butter soft chicken dishes. Stands outs are the shrimp with saffron rice and fresh and distinguished (beef or salmon) tartar. Two dishes that are sure to warm you up are the seafood chowder which is bisque based but still quite filling, and their Poutine which is over the top huge - comes in about and 8" iron skillet and fit for two or three to share. I definitely only made a dent in it. Note to self Poutine is much heavier when toppings added. Don't forget their excellent and sizeable chocolate lava cake to top it all off, but probably not on the night you order a Poutine for dinner. In that case they have a fruit plate (both in individual and group sizes). The family who run the restaurant being on site, makes for a good ambiance and surely shows their pride. In sum for a brunch restaurant to even attempt opening in the evening - shows real dedication - if there was such a thing a bonus star for that, they would get it. I hope with continued hard work the goals come true. Their dinner offering is more than could be expected, and of a quality that deserves tasting - not only imagining.
