I made a dinner reservation and made a note that we would like to sit in the courtyard/garden and that we would be bringing a dog. When we arrived, we were told we could not sit in the courtyard/garden, since we would have to enter the restaurant to access the courtyard/garden, and that dogs are not allowed inside. This was not a big deal, but I wish they could have let me know in advance. The restaurant had a terrasse outside which was dog friendly, and where we were directed to sit instead. Overall, service was good. One of the employees stopped by a few times to offer my dog water, which was very sweet of him. I expected the food at the Burgundy Lion to be mediocre, we didn't particularly come for the food, but for the fact that they are dog friendly. I had a salad, but this was such a well- made salad, and the portions were huge. I enjoyed it immensely. My husband also enjoyed his fish and chips. We split a bottle of Nebbiolo which tasted okay.

The wine and beer selection is equally thorough, but they also have cocktails, whisk(e)ys, and hot spirits to end your evening on a sweet note. It's also one of the few places I know of where they're okay with you having dessert with your poison of choice. The interior, while small, is very welcoming, and the full-length bar combined with friendly staff and its location in the neighborhood means you'll always meet someone interesting to swap stories with.
