I've been drinking Le Cheval Blanc Blanche every time I visit Montreal. And, of course, I have to find the source of it. ;) Le Cheval Blanc bar is in a walking distance from Barri/UQAM station. Too bad they did not have witbier and saison framboise when we stopped by, and those were the two we expected to try. Anyway, we did a flight, and they were super cheap. Hanging out in front of the bar was pretty amazing to wind down. So Christian, this is your next stop when you come up to Montreal.

Double BonHeur, double IPA 8% ABV. Exquisite!!!

I can't tell you how long Le Cheval Blanc is been on my list but on this trip I finally made a stop and was so pleased I did. I ordered their Double Bonheur IPA, 8% ABV and was delighted with the quality and surprised by the creamy texture and head this IPA possessed. This was and outstanding IPA, Montreal has many great Micro Breweries and this one should be on your list when you visit the city. I am anxious to return and try some of there other beers and ales so stay tuned.

In Montreal, you will not find a 100 plus beers on tap. You will find, however, bars that make there own beer. Known as A Micro Brew. Unfortunately , I have no sense of taste and I drink the same " AMBRE "beer each time I go to Cheval Blanc .... come to think of i, I really can go for a FRANBOISE right now !!! Or a nice tasty CH'FAL DUBLIN Irish Red . Ok , I am off. See ya there!

Simple beer with no fancy tricks that still great.

Simple brew pub in Montreal. Price is good for what you get. One of my favourite places to grab a pint in the city. I'll never forget the first beer I had here was a curry beer. A pint of curry beer is delicious as it sounds.

Best beer that we had while in Montreal! Had the Popeye (pale ale), it was super good. Staff was also very nice and helpful.

Got to try some delicious food during my short weekend trip to Montreal Quebec…read more A friend organized a lunch for everyone before we all headed to the airport and funny enough this restaurant was in the hotel my friend and i stayed at. The restaurant was super quiet when we went as it was a Monday afternoon when most people were probably at work. The interior was quite elegant very clean and royalty looking. The service was 10/10. Waiter was very attentive and we could tell he paid attention to detail. He gave great food recommendations and definitely had knowledge of what's on the menu. Now as for how the food and prices were? Prices i'd say are pretty standard and reasonable. The squash soup was so yum and comforting. It had a puree texture to it. Good serving size. I would order it again! We obviously had to have some mimosas and yes we paired it with orange juice. The duck confit may have been a bit too much for me. Large portion and i couldn't even finish half of it. But it wasn't dry and the veggies had a nice crunch and the lentils were very filling and healthy. The flavour notes all went together but i'd definitely say the dish was more on the healthier side. The chicken supreme on the other hand .. although healthy it was still cheesy and buttery. Considering it was chicken breast it didn't even taste dry so i definitely appreciated that. The risotto paired with it was the star of the show! The restaurant takes resos online and they do have brunch on the weekends, happy hour menu looks promising. If i'm ever in town again and in the area i'd want to try their happy hour or chacuterie spread!

(Hotel restaurants, can be good/bad) We were definitely not dressed up which I was worried about but it wasn't an issue, we started with beef carpaccio and charcuterie, the pate was absolutely amazing as were all the cured meats. The beef carpaccio, was for me a little bland, I would have hit it with a touch of salt, but once you got a piece th at had balsamic drizzle it really opened it up and changed my mind. (I wish there was a little more of the balsamic. My husband had the Cornish hen, and I had the filet mignon, both were absolutely amazing, I even stole a little of his Bleu cheese for my steak. Steak was cooked perfectly, the sides were amazing. Our server was on point, his name was Pedro, I had asked him to send out a dessert privately and it was our 1 year anniversary, even though we were not dressed for the occasion as we were both exhausted from travel, We will probably be in for lunch tomorrow!

Overall: A // 5 stars…read more Compelling restaurant offering modern fare with global inspiration. The food is innovative, exciting, and refreshing. Every dish was excuted to the highest of quality, and the command of service is certainly no less. (Bluefin Tartare: A) - Fresh and light Asian-forward profile on a tuna tartare, with a stunning tapioca chip and a refreshing blend of cucumber and other accompaniments with the tuna. (Octopus: A) - The flavor of this dish is perfectly balanced with a seafood saline coming from the octopus, complemented by the sweetness of the peppers and the acidity of the olives. The octopus is impressively tender and could not be cooked nor seasoned better. The potato component was omitted due to dairy, but the dish is already perfect to me. (Squid Ink Spaghetti: A) - Perfectly cooked pasta being just on the verge of al dente, but still soft enough. The sauce is well made, not being runny and just coated enough to give the pasta and seafood flavor without overpowering. The breacrumbs add a different saline and textural component to the dish pleasantly, which builds on the lovely sweet and spicy tomato sauce. You have to go through what looks like a closed factory and then enter the restaurant. We had a variety of food and everyone loved their meals. I started with the Mixed local greens salad with pear, sunflower, beets, and sheep cheese. Loved all the toppings on it, flavorful dressing. For my entree, I had the Paccheri pasta with braised lamb ragout, stracciatella, pine nuts, and pecorino. Also very good. Not a huge portion but you don't want that when you eat pasta. And I still could not finish it all. Desserts were shared. Loved the chocolate dessert. So yummy. Overall a really nice meal.
