We stayed at the Moxy and they recommended us here. It was SO good! We had the muscles in cream sauce, chicken with mushrooms in cream sauce, fried calamari with onions rings and for desert the banana "French toast" with banana ice cream. Still dreaming about the desert is was amazing! The muscles were very fresh and they were just perfect honestly. We had a server who spoke really good English and was kind enough to translate the entire menu for us. The other servers were also very kind, so service was 10/10. Restaurant was cute, intimate and inviting. Overall a great experience!

This place was recommemded by concierge and it doesn't look like much on yelp/trip advisor but this place is definitely a great place for lunch/dinner. We had the foie gras, salad, mussels, mains; Brussels trio for a taste of duck, meatballs and beef stew all very good.

One of my favorite Belgian restaurants in the Ixelles area of Brussels. When dining here, you can expect very heavy food. In terms of ambiance, design, and menu I would classify Clan des Belges as a Belgo-American hybrid. On one hand, they lift on the popularity of American hipster fare (burgers, nacho's, brunch) and have a bit of an American diner feel. On the other hand, this is very much a Belgian restaurant in its simple version of Francophone dishes (steak frites bearnaise, steak tartare) and real Belgian classics (mussels). So, the food is pretty heavy. Expect lots of cheese, butter, and meat. (We're talking about a Belgian-American food baby here so what are you expecting??) The Megacheeseburger is pretty much a big honkin' American cheeseburger, but it has the Belgian touch because it has reblochon, instead of the ubiquitous cheddar, on top. The prices are pretty good, I think. €16 for a sizeable steak tartare and €17 for a terrific hanger steak are a-okay in my book. The hanger steak is very tasteful, plentiful, and just plain good. The only gripe I have with it is that, unlike the other steaks where you can choose between different sauces, it only comes with the shallot gravy. This hanger steak with bearnaise would be my death row meal, but I guess you can't have everything. Reservations are definitely recommended. This place gets busy. Service inside tends to be pretty good, although you might have to be tenacious. If you are outside, however, it looks like things might be a little more difficult.

In the heart of Ixelles, this belgian restaurant has a very nice decoration which makes you decide to get in instead of other very nice options in the area. You should reserve in advance because is pretty demanded. There are many possibilities regarding food. I got le cordon bleu and it was amazing. The quantity was perfect and the taste too. Presentation was also pretty cool. Waiters were very professional and very attentive. But, instead of having one waiter, we were served by 3. We did not have to wait or something like that, but it made me think if they are coordinated or just acting when there is some table free or asking for service. I recommend it and the quality and quantity deserves the price.

Burgers and other Belgian specialities, but mainly burgers my friends dragged me to this place, (before known as Belgo Belga) the decoration has a nice vintage look with wooden boxes, dark walls and old storage lamps. not being a huge fan of burgers i've to say that it was really tasty and well presented. service is nice and friendly which is always welcomed. i've returned since then for a lunch and their offer is pretty cool fresh fish / meat and not very expensive +/- 12- 14euros

So this is a pretty impressive spot in Brussels. Lovely decor and cosy environment. Good drink selection. The food was perfect. We got a varied selection off the menu and weren't disappointed with anything. The service was below par and seemed more confused than actual wait staff. I'll be back. Gonna try the burger next.

I had the burger (1/2) and the cordon bleu dish. Honestly I am NOT a fan of Belgian food, so this was one of my most enjoyable meals during my visit. Everything was properly cooked and properly seasoned and pretty fresh. Burger was not the best, but certainly very good. Cordon bleu was very good. We shared the dessert spread. It was okay - maybe wouldn't order again. The ambiance is hip and lively and we had a really good and patient server. If ever in Brussels again, I would return.

Positive points: I loved the decor and I loved the concept. The fact that it is a brunch place on weekends makes it really nice. There are not that many brunch places at all in Brussels, so Le clan des Belges is more than welcome. And I have to admit that they're doing a good job. Negative points: the food seemed a little too messy, presentation wise, but I guess that's the "brunch" style, so not a big deal. The food itself taste-wise is pretty good, without the "wow" factor though. Apparently, if I'm not mistaken, they have another menu for non-brunch periods, so maybe I should give it another try. The big no no for me though was the service. Waiters seemed to be all over the place without knowing where to look, where to go to and had too many things going on. In two words, pretty messy. Our waitress forgot our bread and when we notified her, she apologised and told us she would offer us a free hot drink at the end of our meal. At the end of our meal, my husband ordered his coffee that was actually if his brunch deal and I was waiting for the waitress for taking my free hot drink order. But it seemed that she forgot. Well, we didn't mind that much. But then my husband's coffee order took forever. After a while, we asked another waitress who brought it in a minute. I guess our waitress forgot again... As I said, they were running like "chickens without heads" (French expression). So overall, I wasn't impressed. I just really like that there is finally a nice brunch place in this area. The place is not up to the level though I feel and has maybe become "victim of its success" (another French expression)? So I am a little disappointed. However, I must admit that I might still come back should I be in the area and give it another try, hoping for some more professional service.

Cool vintage look, wooden wine box on the walls, unmatching tables and chairs, old barrels and dark corners. Busy and a big loud, Friendly staff.

But since we were in Brussels anyway, I figured we might as well try to get the full Belgian experience and try both mussels and beer. Le Chou de Bruxelles certainly did not disappoint -- the food was outstanding, the service impeccable, and the space delightful. The mussels were remarkably fresh and were a bit briny (as all mussels must be) but weren't overly fishy. Le Chou de Bruxelles offers a wide swath of sauces you can pair with your mussels, which is super fun; I ended up doing a more classic combo with white wine, garlic, and several herbs, but it was super tasty -- the herbs were super fresh and brightened up the overall dish, and the white wine was a lovely pairing with the shellfish. We also got their caprese salad, which was super tasty; the mozzarella was incredibly fresh and the tomato was perhaps the best tomato my friend had ever tried. It was presented in a rather entertaining way, with the tomato cut in half and hollowed out, then with the mozzarella packed inside the tomato. The service was also phenomenal and absolutely on-point. We were seated in the back of the restaurant right next to the patio door, so a few bees flew in and circled around our heads during our meal, but the staff was super friendly in helping us push the bees back outside. Vibes-wise, the restaurant is gorgeous and lively. It's a little bit out of the way from Central Brussels, so you end up with a good mix of locals and tourists. Absolutely love this spot and can't wait to come back in my next trip to Brussels!

While the register states No Cards one of the servers told the table next to mine not worry when they didn't have enough euros. Only a drink menu was provided and the dishes being served that day were handwritten on moveable boards or posted on the wall. I had on my list a couple to try but finally went with the Belgian carbonades à la biere which was beef stew with mashed potatoes in a dark gravy made with beer. The plate was quite generous and much appreciated since I devoured it. I enjoyed the creaminess of the potatoes swirled with gravy but the meat could've been a tad bit more tender. Service was good. I think everyone on the floor stopped by my table for one reason or the other. Ambiance was casual and looked like many people were taking their time over their meals. When finished you need head to the register to settle the tab. I paid in cash. Worth a return visit.

We got there at around 12:30 on a Saturday and it was pretty filled already. I ordered the C'est si Bon combo platter, which included a salad, stoemp (mashed potatoes), meatballs in tomato sauce, carbonnade (Flemish beef stew), and vol au vent (chicken in white sauce). It wasn't bad. It's probably not really for my taste buds because it's so heavy but I'm glad it was a little bit of everything so I at least got to try it. I don't think I could have finished a full size of any of these entrees alone. I liked the beef stew more than I thought I would because the beef tends to be dry, but it was pretty tender here. The vol au vent was creative because the dish normally inside a puff pastry but since this was a sample, they put a miniature pastry ring on top, which was cute and made it less heavy. Hubby had La Dinantaise (assorted duck plate with foie gras, smoked breast, gizzards, rillettes, terrine) served with a salad.
