On a friday during lent, looking for a place with seafood near our hotel. What a great place!…read moreWalked in to live music and got seated right away. The place is warehouse size HUGE, so i doubt they ever completely pack out. The low country seafood boils are amazing, and very generously portioned. My daughter opted for king crab legs and they were perfect. The seasoning and sauce was lick your plate clean kinda yummy! Me & spouse had the fried catfish, which was amazing. Perfectly fried and seasoned. Clam chowder was new england style. Delicious, but not hot. Just warm. We were so hungry we didnt send back. Got a local IPA on tap. It was warm & stale. Our server was so kind & honest about it. She shared that several people returned their tap beers that day because they were warm, and admitted she didn't know enough about beer to help me so the bartender would come over. Wow! That's outstanding customer service! Apparently the IPAs in bottles were EXPIRED as per the very nice bartender. So I got a Sam Adams instead. Whatever, you're here for the seafood and it is excellent. Just disappointed with a huge bar, you would expect the beer to be ok. Our server, i wish i could remember her name because she was so nice and smiley. Definitely would return here if in area again. This was a pit stop on a roadtrip vacation.

YELP! you steered us wrong! We were in the area for an errand and decided to give Konran a try. We…read morereally wanted to like this place as its a local restaurant with cute decor and friendly staff, however the food was severely amateur. We ordered goyoza, yum yum noodles, 2 bowls of spicy shoyu with pork belly and garlic cheese fries. Ohhhhh where to begin... The goyoza were from a freezer bag and weren't even good quality. They decided to fry them which made the dough hard (not crispy) and there were about 8 tiny goyoza for $8! The garlic cheese fries were frozen, seasoned, grade school curly fries with cheese whiz on them. The spicy shoyu had soba noodles not Ramen and the noodles were mushy after a couple minutes at the table. This was touted by the waiter as having "more vegetables" than the other soups but that consisted of scallion, frozen corn nibblets, frozen edamame, and kimchee. The pork belly looks like it was purchased cooked and they seared one side. The fat in the pork belly wasn't rendered correctly and the soup was not balanced. In authentic shoyu you get half a soft egg with runny yolk...the egg in this was hard boiled and sliced with an egg slicer. If you're looking for something authentic and tasty- probably skip this restaurant. Our bill was $58 and we left thinking we ate at the mall food court. Please...cooks at Konran...visit Asia or at LEAST some AUTHENTIC Asian restaurants and tweak your menu!

For a price that usually only buys a simple sandwich combo elsewhere, you get an absolute feast. Food Breakdown * The Meats: The platter comes stacked with a juicy smoked sausage link, a tender slab of ribs with excellent bark, a deeply flavorful piece of chicken, and a perfectly assembled BBQ brisket slider. * The Sides: The classic, creamy baked mac and cheese is topped with a rich dusting of seasoning, and it pairs perfectly with a massive, golden-brown slice of sweet cornbread. * The Extras: The deep-fried Cue balls are a stellar crispy addition, giving an incredible texture contrast to the rest of the meal. Recommend these tasty little treats. The Vibe & Verdict Everything looks beautifully smoked, seasoned to perfection, and served in an authentic, no-nonsense bar atmosphere. Finding this quality of slow-smoked barbecue alongside an entire lineup of scratch-made sides for $20 is a total steal. If you are looking for top-tier comfort food that will completely fill you up without breaking the bank, this spot is a mandatory visit. Only thing is I wish food was a little more moist and they had TVs to watch some sports. Other than that, hands down most bang for your buck at this BBQ Joint! Oh, and they offer a military discount and the servers are extremely attentive of your every need!

Presentation & Variety: The dish is a beautifully orchestrated showcase of premium seafood textures and clean flavors. The plate centers around a high-quality, lightly browned lump Blue crab cake resting atop a smooth bed of rich whipped potatoes. Individual Components: The Crab Cake: Features a golden-brown crust with minimal filler. It is packed with sweet, tender lump crab meat and garnished nicely with fresh herbs. Although there were a few remnants of crab shell within the cake, this was my favorite part of the entire meal as the authentic flavor of Blue Crab was abundant. The Scallops: Four large sea scallops were seared to perfection on one side, displaying an appetizing caramelization while remaining incredibly tender and juicy inside. The Shrimp: Five large, plump, tail-on shrimp circle the right side of the plate. They are beautifully cooked, retaining a vibrant pink color and snappy bite. The Sides: Fresh green asparagus spears rest in the center, providing a crisp, earthy contrast to the rich seafood. I don't eat veggies, so I didn't touch the asparagus. Would have taken a substitute, but the restaurant would not honor my request to substitute. Which is the reason for the service rating of 4.0, although the waitress did an amazing job. A bright lemon wedge and a side of robust cocktail sauce round out the plate perfectly, although neither was needed to make this meal taste any better. Bonus: They did give me a 10% discount on my food, therefore bumped my 3.0 rating of service to a 4.0. Would have been a 4.5 if Google allowed half star ratings. Highly recommend.

Warning long post- The women's restroom floor is filthy,…read more obviously hasn't been mopped in a while it was sticky and build up of dirt in the corners, - made me wonder how the kitchen looked. Also, one of the soap dispensers had no soap - there's a handicap stall, but the door into the bathroom isn't handicap accessible. Now the food - for "Starters" we ordered oyster Rockerfeller - too much spinach, not enough Parmesan cheese, bacon bits were larger than expected (pleasant surprise) for hubby. I had the broiled seafood combo (scallops, shrimp, and crab cake with Yukon gold mash potatoes & asparagus ...not bad, but not great My husband got the grilled chicken Florentine - he was disappointed with the portion size and was expecting the chicken to be a full breast stuffed with the mushrooms, etc and served over the pasta, not cut up pieces and everything mixed together. Needless to say overall we were disappointed and more than likely will not return. And BTW this was not our 1st visit, just the 1st time we weren't happy with the experience.
