On a friday during lent, looking for a place with seafood near our hotel. What a great place! Walked in to live music and got seated right away. The place is warehouse size HUGE, so i doubt they ever completely pack out. The low country seafood boils are amazing, and very generously portioned. My daughter opted for king crab legs and they were perfect. The seasoning and sauce was lick your plate clean kinda yummy! Me & spouse had the fried catfish, which was amazing. Perfectly fried and seasoned. Clam chowder was new england style. Delicious, but not hot. Just warm. We were so hungry we didnt send back. Got a local IPA on tap. It was warm & stale. Our server was so kind & honest about it. She shared that several people returned their tap beers that day because they were warm, and admitted she didn't know enough about beer to help me so the bartender would come over. Wow! That's outstanding customer service! Apparently the IPAs in bottles were EXPIRED as per the very nice bartender. So I got a Sam Adams instead. Whatever, you're here for the seafood and it is excellent. Just disappointed with a huge bar, you would expect the beer to be ok. Our server, i wish i could remember her name because she was so nice and smiley. Definitely would return here if in area again. This was a pit stop on a roadtrip vacation. read more

By far the most mediocre crab boil I've ever had. Well seasoned, HOWEVER.... it's obvious that the snow crab isnt fresh. The shells flexed rather than crack and then I had to scrape all of the meat from the shells because it instantly ripped to pieces. Tell tale signs of previously frozen seafood. The hostess was friendly. My server was attentive. Overall wouldn't recommend if you like seafood for real. read more

With it being only 2 servers on a SATURDAY, Destiny was amazing and very attentive to my group and I!! She recommended us quite a few options from the menu. Our food came out in a timely manner, and it was a decent portion. The lighting was low and we used our phone flashlights to see menu. But, overall the place is nice on the inside. Food was the best tasting seafood for this area. The price is a bit too high. The service is pretty good.

This is a place that I would actually like the visit more often. Unfortunately, the last couple of times I did, it smelled awful. I am fully aware of what seafood smells like and this is not my complaint. It smells like a dirty, funky mop or stinky table cloth. It is unbearable. Service is terrible. Asked for sample of coleslaw and was told NO, so I took a chance and ordered it anyway. When food was delivered, coleslaw was heavily coated with mayonnaise and I sent it back. I missed the boiling crab from California, so I gave it a try while I was in the area. Quite frankly, it satiated my craving for good seafood boil. The sauce they were using was quite different in a sense that they had more butter. read more

5/6/21: First time trying this place after a horrible experience with their competitor around the corner. I truly just wanted some fried shrimp...nothing spectacular. To cut down on the wait time, we called to place our order & was left on hold during our ride there. We hung up when we got to their parking lot & just went in to order. We were coming from Hopewell, so we were on hold almost 10 minutes. Ridiculous! They weren't even busy when we went inside, so what was the issue with taking our order? Anyway, we got inside & the staff were just OK. They weren't super friendly, but they weren't rude either. We placed the order of 2 shrimp/fries, fried rice with chicken/sausage/shrimp, chicken strips/fries, & hushpuppies. Shrimp/fries = 5 (Plump, juicy shrimp...yummy!) Chicken strips/fries = 2 (The chicken was juicy, BUT it was coated in fish fry and it didn't taste good at all. It was an overall weird, gritty texture & was bland. I will not order this again!) Hushpuppies = 2 (They were bland & unlike any I've ever had before. The texture was more of a smooth, donut ball or something & the taste was just weird to me. It didn't taste like a normal Hushpuppy.) Rice = 3 (I don't know about you, but I don't like hard, crunchy rice. I realize it's fried, BUT I've never had HARD, CRUNCHY fried rice from anywhere. I did like the flavor along with the meat in the rice. I just wish the rice was softer.) The food was hot & fresh, which is great. I will definitely go back to get shrimp & to try the rice one more time. Hopefully, the crunchy rice was a one time problem & not the way they consistently cook it. I shall see. This was my 2nd attempt here. The first time was pretty good. This trip I ordered a few things to try. Good: The green muscles were spot on. The sauce flavoring was awesome, cooked well, and a good portion. Good: I ordered ahead online and they filled the order very quickly. They helped me immediately when I walked in. Bad: soft shell crab was good but it was on a bed of soft soggy cold sweet potato fries. Couldn't eat them. Bad: Fried calamari was extremely bland, cold and had a ton of breeding on them. They fell apart and breading fell off when I picked them up. The design of the restaurant is very fun and so is the music. Nicely decorated like you're on a pirate adventure. A hands on eating experience! Passing through town and found this gem in a strip mall. Most meals come in a big bag steamed with corn & potatoes along with your choice of sauce. I tried the steamed shrimp with the Cajun sauce, yuuummmee! Our waitress was very attentive and checked on us often. They have a small stage which I'm sure has some amazing bands playing there. None were playing on the Sunday afternoon when we were there. Ambiance was nice with a long bar and whale shaped lights, also a nice boat when you come through the entrance. read more

I will say that my food was delicious but what i really will say more is how fantastic our waitress was?! He name was Dana!!! And let me tell you!! I will ask for her every single time I come in!! Her personality was out of this world. To say she was good would be an understatement. She is AMAZING!! So friendly!! So kind!! Corona has not impacted the way she treats people and it shows!!! A big NO for me. Let me start by saying I ordered a seafood boil with king crab, 1lb. Blue crab, 1lb shrimp 1lb, boil bay special seasoning..also comes with corn and potato's, and added extra corn for $3. What I actually received in my order was only king crab, 2lbs of shrimp? And no extra corn. Unacceptable. I let them know my order was incorrect and they blocked me. As for the food- I would highly recommend choosing the spicy option as the boil bay special had no kick to it what so ever. Not one ounce of spice, old bay would have sufficed. The sauce was completely watered down and tasteless. The shrimp were a decent size but slimy on the inside. Couldn't finish this meal, and will not be returning. Hidden gem! The food was fresh and flavorful! I got a few things: cup of gumbo, fried calamari, and catfish basket with sweet potato fries and an ice cold sweet tea! Everything was good! The food was good but the service was not good. We had a server named Janelle B. I felt like we received sub par service as she was getting automatic gratuity from us because we were a party of 6. It was absolutely amazing and the crab legs were huge and the shrimp were delicious and it was just so worth every penny. Fast forward to now, the crab legs were TINY!! I meant like hardly any meat at all. Barely made them worth it. The shrimp was okay, some of them weren't deveined properly. The potatoes weren't cooked all the way. Everything else was just okay. So. . . YES!!!! Listen. . . I have been missing crab boils since I left Pensacola in December 2019. I did a review on them. . . "The Juicy Crab". I think they called it the Red Crab "Juicy Seafood" on Yelp. Anyways, I digress. Service: I LOVED the service. They do have mask mandates and they have plenty of space. The server gave recommendations and also wanted to look out for me when I ordered a side of fries with my boil bag because the servings are huge. . . . I should have listened but you ain't heard that from me. Those fries were fire and I will regret nothing lol. They also provided cleaning material and bib. . . so you know . . . It's about to go DOWN. Food: So the server recommended the combo C or D to ensure I get the amount of crab I wanted. I appreciated that as well because I would have been ticked with a half a leg due to the whole weight thing. Anyways, I had the combo C where I had picked the shrimp, and blue mussels (the mussels was another recommendation greatly appreciated from the server) to go along with the included potatoes, corn, and sausage (sorry people, you have to order the boiled egg if you want them). The fries have a Cajun seasoning and they were served FRESH. I loved the sauce but if you aren't looking for a sauce that gives off a little bit of a cream-like taste, then you probably want to go with the ole reliable (garlic butter). This sauce is very tasty but it seemed that it could be mixed with a little sour cream along with the butter so it can thicken kind of quick as it cools. Still good though. Ambiance: The outside will fool you because you just have those two doors covered in photos. I was seeing people go in like it was nothing and it was making me a little anxious. My friend had to calm me down to just walk in and see if it was going to be too many people for me to handle. . . I'm happy to say that the place has a lot of space, they implement the 6ft apart rule along with mask mandate (thank you sweet baby Jesus), and they space out their tables to accommodate the number of people per party. BIG THUMBS UP. Overall, this was a great experience because your reviewer over here has been DUCKED off due to COVID and I thought that businesses were playing around with it like it was a joke. Me and my husband love going to boil bay. The service is okay, but the food makes up for the what can be lacking in service. The food is always fresh and hot and clean.
