    Almond croissant

Best almond croissant! This place is a gem and is in a farmer's market area. People were lining up for this boulangerie and everything we got tasted fantastic and was great quality.

Saw that this place won a award for their baguette, say no more! The chocolate bread was amazing! I'm not the biggest fan of chocolate, but it was chocolate heaven. Chunks of chocolate in every bite you take. The ham and cheese quiche was cold, it would have tasted better if it was warmed up. Their sandwich was absolutely delicious! Something simple like tomato, ham, cheese, and basil, but the combination of flavor worked and by far my favorite thing we got! Last, but not least, the infamous prize winning bread. The baguette was crunchy, herby, yet soft on the inside and definitely made me realize that French baguette is superior to American baguette. Sorry America. Cute little bakery, I'd definitely come back!!

Hroooeee Mooof-tahr, i think you're a street that sates any foodie's foodie! I am so impressed by one of the oldest streets in Paris.. I walked it from its base allll the way to Clovis, on my way to the Pantheon. The main artery thru the Latin Quarter, this was a seminal Roman road for transit to the SE; too, the Bièvre River flowed across, and a village, St. Marcel, flourished, which caused this street also to follow suit. This bakery here, with all of its glorious displays and fresh baguettes facing the street, does not disappoint in any way. It is simply amazing. In the centre of the Latin Quarter, 5th arrondisement, please stop by and try ANYTHING here. Baguette sauvage, YUMMMM.. had with St marcellin cheese bought practically next door, same side of the cobblestoned street. Very popular and constant stream of patrons.

If Parisians are willing to wait in a ridiculously long line, you KNOW it's good.

While wandering down Rue Mouffetard, Le Fournil de Mouffetard caught my eye because a ridiculously long line of Parisians streamed from the tiny bakery out into the street - unusual in my opinion since I was no where near any major tourist hotspots. I concluded to myself that the bread must be phenomenal if Parisians are willing to wait in a long queue... so I hopped into the line. Best decision ever. During the wait, I noticed that all the bread is made in house and the tiny quiches went like crazy. The pizza looked delicious as did all the assortment of desserts, breads, and pastries. When it was finally my turn, I ordered a fresh Pain au Chez for 1.15E and stuck it in my purse. As I left munching on my soft warm baguette, I couldn't help but feel o' so Parisian :) p.s. Rue Mouffetard is my favorite street in Paris. Located in the 5th arrondissement, it was also one of Julia Child's favorites - not a surprise given that it's said to home the best street market in the city. A narrow cobblestone street lined with cafes, restaurants, bars, fromagerie (cheese shops), boulangeries (bakeries), clothing shops, and more, it simply charmed by socks off.

This was my bakery of choice since my airbnb was just around the corner from this place. There's a pretty large selection and it's priced pretty good. I'd recommend trying at least the chocolate and almond croissant (or any of them to be honest). Also attempt to speak some French, they appreciate it. It does get crowded during the weekend when all the tourists come to the market, but it's actually not that busy during the weekdays.

Love these little tartes! Crumble is my favorite so had to try these out. Now I feel completely sustained by the meal we had before!

Another great boulangerie. This place is slightly larger than the one down the street with a…read moreslightly wider selection. It gets a cheaper rating but I thought the prices were very comparable to the other boulangeries in the neighborhood.Again they had great croissants (I tried them at every boulangerie we visited) and their large macaron "sandwiches" were also delicious (although not my MOST favorite of the ones we tried in Paris). This place was also just a few steps from our apartment so we visited it a lot as well. None of the women that served us during the week spoke English but again, you don't need much in a boulangerie. The service was always friendly and efficient. Often this place was busy but service was quick. No outdoor seating, and they were open until 8pm which was awesome. Later in the day you'll find that pastries and bread are not as fresh but even though we got macaron "sandwiches" at 7pm and they seemed a little damp from the fresh fruit in them, the taste was delicious. The outer shells of the macarons were slightly tough but the overall texture wasn't bad. the berries (we tried frambriose and fraise, or raspberry and strawberry) were incredibly fresh and tasty. I'm sure if we had purchased them earlier in the day they would have been even better. We also had the coffee eclairs and they were amazing!!! I don't care that much for eclairs as I do no like the type of bread used for them, but these were good enough that I'd get them again. The filling was rich and the coffee taste was outstanding.
