This is a very nice restaurant by the waterfront in Nice, France. It is so beautiful to dine in the evening and see the water while looking at all the lights coming from the houses in the mountains. It's a very lovely sight! I took off one star because, just like the city's in Italy and Paris they are working with a skeletal crew who seemed a bit overwhelmed and overworked. Now my beautiful cousin's daughter is studying in Nice and we treated her to a nice meal! We started with some water when we sat down and they brought us some crackers. We ordered appetizers and then they brought some bread with olive oil and balsamic vinegar which was cute. Nice has a lot of Italians living there and the influence is in the food. We started off with a salad and a pasta dish with creamy truffle sauce which was divine. For dinner my niece had a beautiful seared medium rare steak that she enjoyed. It came with mashed potatoes and a beef demi glace. I ordered the chicken with beautiful mashed potatoes and morel mushroom sauce. The foodie in me needs to expand my palate because I love mushrooms but those morels were off putting to me but the ratatouille served with it is delicious. My Mum and my sister had the salmon with rice and ratatouille. My sisters salmon was a perfect medium and my Mum's was well done. The salmon tasted very nice. For dessert they had profiteroles with ice cream and chocolate sauce. I've made so many of that corny dessert in Culinary Arts University I just let them enjoy it, lol. You couldn't pay me to eat it but they demolished thr dessert. I had a coke because I had a dry vacation. Not one drop of alcohol in any city in Europe.........in Europe!!! I'm glad I did though. My Mum and my niece had gingerale and my sister had a nice Prosecco. I would come here again and again. For sure!

    Truffle rigatoni. Pretty pretty good

Immaculate views at Le Mayssa. Sea breeze whispers in your ear and rustles your hair while you enjoy a rooftop cocktail overlooking the French Riviera coastline. What else can you ask for? Watermelon, feta, mint salad was a refreshing way to open the pallet. But at the same time, anyone can assemble this dish. Salmon entree = seriously tasty. Don't waste your time on the scallops if it's paired with mashed potatoes. Asian fusion salmon is better, as is the truffle rigatoni pasta. Mayssa incorporates fresh food with unreal views. Good cocktails are rare in France, too, so take advantage! Nothing wrong with espresso martinis, and the passion fruit tequila drink slapped.

A lovely dessert with some ice creams and chocolate covering

The village itself is incredibly charming, and the restaurant feels completely integrated into its stone lanes and hillside setting. I had never been anywhere quite like it. Admittedly, I cannot remember exactly what I ate, but the meal was rich, elaborate, and left me ridiculously full. I do remember a salt-crusted fish special priced at roughly €300, which captured the scale of the experience. This is classic luxury French dining in one of the most beautiful settings imaginable. Beyond the meal, the entire visit felt special because the restaurant, hotel, and village all seemed connected. Walking through the old stone streets before dinner made arriving there feel like part of the experience. It remains one of the most memorable places I have ever eaten.

We were told that they would try to honor the early check-in upon availability and the room upgrade. We were told that they would call us when the room was ready. Waited until 3PM and had to go to the front desk again to see if the room was ready, it was and no upgrade. My husband was taking a nap due to the jet lag, and we put a do not disturb sign on our door. The front desk called us and woke him up anyways, saying that they saw the "do not disturb" sign but wanted to see if housekeeping could clean now. We found housekeeping staff to be rude as well. Now onto the worst service on property, which was valet. Not only are they unhappy to help you, but they called a taxi for us and forgot to load our luggage. We arrived to the Nice airport without our bag. The only silver lining here was breakfast, which was delicious and accompanied by a beautiful view. We can't recommend this hotel.

I've traveled the world over and have met many a barkeep. This refined gentleman makes the trip worthwhile as he oversees the bar area and pours a delicious drink- all the while making interesting and polite conversation with old world elegance. If you are looking for the slick modernism of a Four Seasons or a Mandarin Oriental, La Voile D'Or is not for you. But our older and charming room with views off the sea were just what made us very sorry to leave. Each day my wife and I tumbled out of bed and down to the stunning pool area where we were greeted by Muriel, Catharine and Isabel who reserved the best chaise lounges for us to gaze at the ocean, enjoy an impeccable lunch, and slip into the sea while ordering off of the refreshing cocktail menu. Such hospitality and service is a hallmark of this gorgeous jewel on the ocean and I hope I return at every opportunity. What a treat! Thank you to the gracious staff that made our trip so memorable each day. Absolutely the best!

This was our favorite meal of our trip to Nice!…read more Warning: Reservations are hard to come by we dropped by and only reservations available were for 9pm two nights later. We took it. The place is super relaxed. 5 maybe 6 tables which made the difficulty of reservations more understandable. Prix fix menu - 4 appetizers to choose from, 4 entrees and 4 desserts. We were there with somewhat of a limited diet, but the options were awesome. We got a cauliflower appetizer and an artichoke one. Both were excellent. We all had the cod for dinner also delicious - served in a bath of traditional fish soup and with potatoes. The dessert was also excellent - we got the goat cheese in olive oil and garlic, the cream cheese with blueberry compote, lemon cheesecake and cinnamon "tiramisu". Every bite was full of flavor and such cool takes on the food. Now the intangibles - we arrived for our 9pm reservation, restaurant closes at 9:30 and we probably didn't walk out until 11:15 and there was still another table of 8 people dining. The host/waiter, Sebastian, was awesome. So friendly and we at no point felt rushed. In fact the opposite. When our daughter was slow in finishing her meal he joked with her instead of hurrying us along. Once we finished our main dish, he casually brought us our dessert and because we didn't order his favorite (we didn't know) he brought us out an extra to enjoy. We felt a little bad so somewhat accelerated the dessert phase so we could square up and leave. Instead he was unhurried, he casually cleared our table and chatted with us for a bit. It took us another 15 minutes before we finally said could we get the bill. He brought it to us another 5-7 minutes later. We had a great experience and one of our best meals in France, if not the best.
