    Delicious choice of sweet memories

Our local friends told us we simply have to walk down this street for a fine breakfast place. Surely, we passed many of such, but Le Pain Quotidien attracted us the most, so we entered this little breakfast "boutique", styled with wooden walls which gives it a extraordinary atmosphere. At the moment you enter this location, you are caught by its comfy style, friendly staff and, especially, the food displayed on the counter. Surprisingly, the waiting time was just a couple of minutes. Alright, the menu offers too many awesome options on which I wanted to start at the top left and eat myself through to the bottom right. My choice felt on the mushroom toast and the Belgium waffle. The toast was awesome, the mushrooms gave a perfect balance. Also the Belgium waffle was a good decision. It was supersoft and the just a little bit bitter chocolate sauce mad this choice even more special. My friends choose the petit dejeuner, a fresh scone (wohoo!) and some other delicious brunch food. Even after the food, we just stayed a long time because it was so comfy. This little restaurant does not want you to leave and we neither felt a rush to leave here. Definitely a hot tip for London!

Chain of French cafe/bakeries all over London. Healthy choices but not great variaty for brunch. Coffee is great but everything is extremelly expensive, without being justified. Not authentic at all.

The cafe/bakery looked so cozy with the wooden tables and with the fresh bred displayed so beautifully so decided to pop in there for lunch today. This Belgian place serves traditional bakery products like pastries and pies, and during lunch time sandwiches and salads. I ended up having salad with grilled vegetables that was fresh but nothing spectacular, and regretting that I didn't go for the sandwich option as having it made from fresh bread in London is a rare treat! The bakery side is definitely the strong point of this cute delicatessen.

Lovely and just as expensive as neighboring cafes. The staff is warm even when it's cold outside.

My husband and I decided to try for a table and we ended up waiting about 45 min - 1 hour to sit. There was a super short line for to-go pastries (and sometimes there was no line), so if you're pressed for time, definitely do that! I love how the Arome workers help move the line along and help people in line find tables. Also speaking of Arome, the AROMA was fantastic! It smelled to buttery and fantastic both inside and while waiting in line. I ended up trying: the iconic Honey Butter Toast, Black Sesame Mochi Cookie, and Almond and Chocolate Croissant, a Savory Croissant (I think Sausage and Cheese), a Chai, and a Matcha. Everything was SO GOOD. All the pastries were amazing. I'm glad we got a mix of sweet and savory things. Everything we had was buttery, flaky, intentional, and made with love. What you'll like the most will depend on your personal flavor preferences! Definitely give this place a try!

Mmmmm......Donuts! (Said in the voice of Homer Simpson.)…read more They do donuts so righteous here. As we were walking around Borough Market we saw the line for Bread Ahead and realized it was for the donut stand they had outside along the street. We had to jump on line and drool over the display of sugary goodness. We each tried a different donut and was not disappointed! So many varieties to choose from - coconut, lemon curd, blackcurrant cheesecake, seasalt caramel and honeycomb, and others. They don't skimp on the fillings as each bite was flavorful. Yum!

After finishing the food tour, I came back for another one, the Pistachio Doughnut. The Crème Brûlée Doughnut was the clear winner. Presentation-wise, it looked just like a real crème brûlée, complete with its beautifully caramelized top. The filling was rich, silky, and creamy without being overly sweet. The dough itself was light, soft, and not greasy or overly bready, making it a fantastic combination. This one is an absolute must-try. The Tiramisu Doughnut had a nice creamy filling, but it didn't quite capture the classic tiramisu flavor. As for the Pistachio Doughnut, the filling was smooth and creamy, but I could barely taste any pistachio, which was a little disappointing. Service was quick, efficient, and well organized despite the line. The setup is simple: queue up, place your order, pay, and enjoy. Overall, the Crème Brûlée Doughnut is the standout and definitely worth ordering. It's the one I'd come back for again. :)
