    Sunday drinks ;)

Fancy place for a drink right on the Thames. Service is impeccable and if you are seated at the bar the bar tender constantly feeds you olives, sold! It's a bit pricey so I would only go here on a very special occasion but it definitely does impress if that is your objective.

This is my favorite place on the river to eat lunch or in my case a boozy brunch. You need to be quite firm as to what you want, otherwise staff will steer you toward the option that's easier for them. Don't accept it. If you want the set menu, get it

This place has an amazing view of the London Bridge. I mean come on, even the name is french for it. I ordered the escargot for appetizer and it was really tasty and juicy. and they're quite large sized snails. The texture was perfect and not chewy. The main entree I ordered was the lamb chops and it was cooked to a very nice medium yet the chef managed to make the outside fat crunchy. It was delicious and very gamey. The dessert I ordered was my favorite... The lemon tart was perfectly balanced in tarty-ness and sweetness. The french vanilla pairing was so creamy and not too sweet. If you are here, you have to order this dessert. Make sure you sit outside in the patio and watch the view of the london bridge and people passing by.

Hmm! Now this is a tricky one, because I actually went to the Butlers Wharf Blackout Banquet, not really Le Pont De La Tour. The menu comprised a combination of dishes from all four restaurants along the riverside; Le Pont De La Tour, Blueprint Cafe, Cantina De la Pont and Butlers Wharf Chophouse. Anyway, it was a very rainy weekend when we booked to go to the banquet. My friend and I were a bit wary about the night. We were quite relieved to see the banqueting table was set-up under a very sturdy marquee - phew! Our marquee was set-up outside the Le Pont De La Tour. Seats were not reserved, it was a case of sit anywhere, which I think added to the fun - who knew who you could be sat next to and the place was a buzz with chatter. The table and surrounding area was candlelit, with a row of candles going down the centre of the table - beautiful and romantic. Everyone looks good in the soft yellow glow of a candles flame! At 8.30 the lights along the riverside went out too and Tower Bridge looked even prettier. We were a little bit late (naughty), but were informed that they would have our starters brought to us shortly. The hostess noted I had requested the vegetarian menu and assured me I would be okay with the starter as it was vegetarian and the kitchen would be informed of my dietary requirements. We got our "Swim Tonics" which were surprisingly delicious and refreshing. Only surprising for me because I'm not a fan of tonic water. I can't stand its tangy, bitter taste. Then we found our seats and were served our starter. Dark lentils with tamarind sauce, pomegranate and celery. The lentils were delicious, the rest a bit meh! But the shocking disappointment was the distribution. My serving was about a dessert spoon sized portion of lentils, my friend's was four times that! We got a bottle of house white from the bar, clean, fresh and very drinkable. But had a delay in getting a cooler as they had run out. The main came and fortunately it was fish (yes, I'm one of those type of vegetarians), trout. It was perfectly cooked and very tasty served with a cauliflour flapjack. Very enjoyable, but it would have been better if they had served some side dishes too or at least given us the option of ordering some. The dessert was a berry cheesecake with shortbread. But my friend made the mistake of being away from her seat when it was served. When she returned and asked for hers whe was told they had run out. She was served with what we were told was Le Pont De La Tour's signature dish, it's treacle tart. She wasn't impressed after one mouthful, so I helped her dispose of it! ;D I liked it, but I have to admit it was extremely orangy and not very treacly. It was a great night but when they do it again next year I would advise you get there on time, don't leave your seat and, if you're a real vegetarian, make sure they give vegetarian dishes. It would be great and definitely impress if you're on a date and would probably be a nice experience with a small group of friends. In relation to the actual restaurant, it looks like a lovely venue and I might go back sometime to see what it's like for food.

Decent food and good wine list. A good place to go for the night maintaining a high standard. Wine list would make your night even better with the view of tower bridge. Try it, recommended!

It was a little surreal to sit there and eat dinner with the Tower Bridge so close in the background.

Everything they sell is tasty! I am eating here since last 2 weeks (lunch). So far I tried couple of pastries/cakes, ridiculously delicious. I don't like soup much but when I visits Seattle USA, I give it a try but here it's soo delicious I had to buy large size, so far the best soup they have is chicken mushroom soup and cauliflower pepper with lots of veggies soup. I tried honey BBQ pulled chicken with caramelized onions and peppers. Ensure you tell them you want onions and peppers else all you will get is bread n meat! I tried salad, lot of options for salad so am not going to put them all here. Try past as well. I tried mushroom pasta sooo cheesy and tasty. They also have very good bacon sausage pasta and couple more which yet to explored. They serve chicken and rice and wraps. I haven't tried yet but looking at the Q for that food, has to be tasty!! MUST try if you want all options together like salad ,soups ,sandwiches , pasta and pastries!

It was my first time in an outpost of this chain and everything I encountered gave off good vibes, from the large selection of teapigs to the smell of chorizo being grilled for lunch and the airy, light-filled space. Oh and that massive chocolate chip cookie? I ate it over the course of two days and can surely say it was faultless.

My initial review below from three years ago stands: wonderful experience!…read more However, the most recent dinner experience with my friend 2 weeks ago dampened it. The owner/manager was super jovial when we stepped in and during dinner. Wonderful food as always and an excellent Falanghina pairing. My friend enjoyed her tiramisu. Very good service. At leaving, I asked for one of the Italian chocolate bonbons priced at £1.50. And since I didn't have cash (it's 2026 for God's sake get over it ), that same owner/manager mood switched FAST. Suddenly there was a scowl and MOOD when he got the card machine. Didn't even respond when we said thank you as we left. We had spent almost £90 between the two of us. If we were in Italy, we would get the friggin bonbon or limoncello on the house. Once again crappy customer service rears its head. Shame on you. 3 years ago: Like others have said, what a great little spot, tucked away on a quiet street. Italians run the place so you know it's genuine. Cozy, quick service, very amiable (and a quite attractive waiter from Palermo!) My friend and I split the crab pasta, cod with lentils and the chocolate fondant. The pasta was fresh and perfectly al dente, with a delicious buttery flavour. The cod was plump and juicy, expertly cooked, and I was delighted with the huge amount of lentils. A treat! The fondant could be plated differently- honestly it looks like a poop smear- but it was utterly delicious to end the night, with a dollop of vanilla ice cream. The wine carafe was a bit too expensive at £23 (!!) but the suggested dry white wine choice from Sardinia was delicious. Overall a wonderful experience and I would return.

By night, it looked warm and inviting. But we never judge books by their covers. That's a fool's errand. Instead, we look at yelp and then at other reviews that the reviewers wrote. What we read was intriguing enough to walk across the street and in the door. There was one table in use when we walked in. We asked for a table and were led to the back room and told to take the two-top of our choice. A young woman, who was apparently being trained shared the responsibility of taking care of us under the tutelage of an experienced server. They were both wonderful although my wife told me to quit joking with the younger server because she could see that I was causing confusion or consternation or both. We ordered: Minestrone Soup - 5 - THE BEST Minestrone Soup that we've EVER HAD, EVER! Pappardelle with Pork Ragu - 5 - OMG, the PASTA! Ribbons of perfection. And the Ragu was pretty darned good too. Gamberoni Fregula - 5 - Never really a fan of couscous, Fregula is similar with the primary difference that it is made by hand rather than by machine. It was the perfect support and accompaniment for the large Prawns on top of the dish. Spinach - 5 - We needed some kind of veg besides what we got in the soup and this simple spinach dish hit the spot. Bread & Oil - 5 - It was good enough to take the leftover bread home with us to toast and butter the next morning. Apple Fruit Tart - 5 - Flakey, buttery and just the right sweetness to support the apple which still had a bite to it. And of course, the Vanilla Ice Cream was good too. Tiramisu - 5 - They have permanently ruined all future Tiramisu for us. No one has ever made such a delicious creation. It was NOT packed with drunken Lady Fingers. It may have only had three or four suspended in a creamy custard held together by a lovely thin tuille and then dusted in cocoa. We were seriously thinking about going back just to have Minestrone Soup and Tiramisu but decided that we had to try some of the other restaurants nearby. We did go to another Italian restaurant nearby and were so disappointed. That restaurant had shared tables and when we saw how disappointed our seatmates were with their orders, we suggested to them to go to Locanda del Melo for the Tiramisu and all would be better. They were intrigued so we walked them over and said our good nights as they entered the restaurant.

Much to my surprise, I was welcomed in a very warm manner. There is then the main counter with Italian cheeses galore and some deli items and home made pasta. There is also the full range of tinned and dried goods. The dry pasta from here is better than the fresh stuff from supermarkets. In Italy, they believe the pasta is the star of the dish and the sauce is just there to coat it, not drown it but for that philosophy to work, you need high quality ingredients I left with some pancetta, ham and mini mozzarellas
