    Feel Good Bowl
    Jennifer J.

We stopped at this fantastic restaurant after we had a tour of Musee d Orsay (15 min walk). It is in the St Germain area and the menu is great! I had the Feel Good Bowl and my husband had the delicious chicken meal. Of course, I had an Espresso Martini.

After eating nothing but pastries and carbs all day we were despertare for some protein (steak). This spot was a minute walk from our hotel and open all day, which meant we could do an earlier dinner to accommodate our kiddos bedtime. The steak here was delicious - I highly recommend the rump steak - especially for the truffle cream sauce it comes with. The drinks and sides were also top tier as well. Staff was so friendly and service was fast. We will definitely come back here.

    Cannelloni

The wife and I went to dinner here with friends while visiting their home in the 6th. The highlight of this meal was the cannelloni that the wife ordered. It was well seasoned and delicious. The escargots I ordered as an appetizer were also good. However, they were not easy to eat. Three of them were stuck in the shells and I had to break the shells to get to the meat. The steak was just okay. It needed salt and was a bit tough. The fries were not good at all. Possibly they were older fries or overcooked a bit. Whatever the reason, they were dry and chewy. The service was good.

    Chicken Poke Bowl

Excellent dinner and great service from Martin. He brought our drinks quickly. The homemade goat cheese cannelloni was superb as well as the chicken Poke bowls. The roasted duck and potatoes were delicious also. Arrived around 5:00 and did not have a reservation; we were seated promptly. Within walking distance to the Louvre. We are returning again tomorrow for dinner!

What a great place! Our waiter was Lies and he was wonderful! Friendly, helpful, attentive and vivacious! The Duck confit was great but everyone raves about the duck breast. And the Saint-Germain Spritz is A MUST!!!

The duck burger is amazing! So juicy, tasty, and a good portion too. You can tell the fries it comes with is home made. Crispy and fresh. I give this dish 5/5. The sea bass was moist but a bit bland. The vegetables it came with were actually more flavorful that the fish. I'd give it 3/5. My dad order the steak. While I didn't try it, he said it very tough. He mentioned this to the waiter and he quickly made amends and brought out another cut that was much more tender. That's great customer service! The food itself was probably overall a 3.5/5, but since they take good care of their customers, I'm bumping them to a 4.

After reading some of the reviews I was surprised to see issues about service. We arrived for lunch and there were only a few other diners since it was early but there were plenty of staff. We were seated right away and were given menus. After a few minutes we ordered lunch. The waiter did not write down our order but we did get the correct dishes but no water. We flagged another waiter down and he brought us a bottle. I ordered foie gras on brioche, I just had to try this dish once while in Paris. On the menu there was a description of happy well cared for ducks that are not force fed so you don't have to feel bad eating their liver. It was worth it, so fatty, creamy and delicious. We also had duck with creamy sweet potatoes, this was also very good. I ordered the house red wine. They do have other wines you could order but I assume that whatever you order in these bistros you will get the house wine. They don't pour the wine from a bottle, it's served either in a small bottle with no label or a small pitcher, no way to tell what wine they are serving other than red, white or rose. Great deal for 8.50 euros works out to about 4 glasses of wine. Restaurant was fairly clean. The coaster had stains on them and the menu a bit worn but this was one of the cleaner bistros we've been to.

    Entrance, steak & fries

As this sweet restaurant was just down the street from our hotel (Hotel Fougere) we stopped in the first night in Paris. Divine! Husband had burger & fries, I had steak & fries. Perfectly cooked. Paired with their house Bordeaux which paired perfectly. Service was outstanding. Sweet little spot at the window. Enjoyed it so much, we went back a 2nd time in our mere week in Paris. Love the hardworking staff, attention to customer & quality food/presentation. Reasonable & personable. Highly recommend.

Added this Resturant to Yelp which has a 4 1/2 rating on google maps so decided to try it. They have limited outside seating and a large inside dining area. There is a bar but very small and tight. Atmosphere is great and VERY busy. It did take a long time for them to take our order, so be ready to order your entire meal and and not just appetizers. Our table has a selection of food and I decided to have the Rumpsteak. Steak was cooked very well BUT not zero seasoning. I thought the stake was not tasty however if you like non-seasoned stake maybe it's for you. It was also very tough and perhaps it's the nature of the steak... The Duck my fried had as very good and tasty. The tuna salad was good as well and the steak fries were crispy and very good. Generally this would be a 3 star however the service was not very good. The server (which I believe was the manager) did not write down the order. So escargot that we ordered we never received. The drinks took a VERY long time to come! We had to ask for the fries, olive oil and the drinks we had order. Perhaps they were too busy but service and food was the reason for my 2 star rating.

A tree grows inside which adds to the ambience.

However, it is definitely overshadowed by the rich flavor of the foie gras. This experience was unforgettable, with our view of Parisian streets on a brisk, April night. We even came back on our last night, but didn't realize the hours on Google maps was for the deli. The restaurant closes earlier, before 9:00 PM. This meal got us thinking about Paris in a positive light, and we hope to be able to come back to eat the amazing dishes again!

The worst part was the bread in the soup. It tasted stale which ruin the flavor of the soup. I had to finish without the bread. Escargot - Another disappointment. What made escargots special was the garlic butter and herb. Here, there were the herbs, no garlic, and French is famous with their butter but I taste oil but not buttery. Other places I actually get excited dipping the bread into the garlic butter but not here. Pan seared Foie gras - The quality of Foie Gras was definitely there. It's not as well seared as I hope but they managed to cook it through without overcooking it. The size of Foie Gras is kind of scary, it's like a small piece of rib eye steak. With just the onion soup and Foie Gras, I could barely swallow anything. Generous portion.

We headed to Chez Janou, a Paris institution. I hadn't been in years, but my son insisted we go back because, according to him, they have the best chocolate mousse in Paris. Judging by the lineup, half the city; and every tourist with an Instagram account showed up. Thankfully we had a 2pm reso. Here's the thing, though. Everyone talks about the mousse, but the food deserves just as much attention. I'd also forgotten how much I love the 3rd arrondissement. Wander a few minutes from the restaurant and you'll find beautiful art galleries, a gorgeous little park, and some of the best boutique shopping in Paris. It's one of those neighbourhoods where you accidentally walk 15,000 steps without realizing it. Now, here's your game plan. Start with the escargots or the gambas to share. For your main, order the farci provençal or the foie de veau. The farci is like a French version of a stuffed pepper: yummy comfort food with a southern coast twist. As for the foie de veau... I actually ordered it by mistake. I thought I was getting regular veal. Out came veal liver. Best mistake of the day. I love liver. My mom makes an incredible liver and onions, so I'm a tough judge. This was outstanding. Rich, buttery, perfectly cooked and perfectly salted. It was so good I immediately texted my mom and told her she's coming here the next time she's in Paris. Drum roll, please... The chocolate mousse. Was it worth all the hype? Yep. There are no fancy swirls or little artistic desserts here. A server simply walks over carrying what looks like a white industrial-sized bowl of chocolate mousse and casually drops a mountain of it onto your plate. Everyone grabs a spoon and starts digging in. It's wonderfully French. Simple. Unpretentious. Ridiculously good. So yes, Chez Janou lives up to the hype. But don't just come for the mousse. Come for the lunch, stay for the neighbourhood, and spend the afternoon getting happily lost in one of the best corners of Paris. That's a Friday well spent.

The service we experienced was exactly what you want... our server had plenty of suggestions based on the offerings of the day. The service was attentive and responsive... not much more than you could ask for. I had the duck breast being offered... it was served alongside crispy potatoes, green beans, and a salad. Adding in the onion soup and a glass of wine... it quickly became a King's dinner at a very reasonable price. I would be more than happy to eat here again and look forward to exploring the rest of the menu offering many local and classic French options.
