Fantastic little gem! I couldn't have asked for a better atmosphere for a rainy afternoon lunch. Make reservations as it's very quaint. Lovely staff, great beverages, and excellent seafood.

Very disappointed after seeing all the good reviews. We tried the clam chowder, lobster bisque, fried calamari, cod fritters, mussels, salmon tartare and the crab cake burger. The soups were extremely liquid and tasted very bland. They were also expensive (15$ for the bisque and 8$ for the clam chowder). The cod fritter was flavorful but had a lot of batter on the outside. The fried calamari was good and not chewy but it came with a very generic thai chili sauce and you can't really taste the calamari anymore. The salmon tartare was disgusting. It was made with pineapple, basil and honey. It was very chunky and liquid. The pineapple chunks were huge and the taste overpowered everything. The sweetness of the honey and pineapple was a weird combination with the salmon and you couldn't taste the salmon anymore. The mussels were fresh but the coconut curry sauce was a bit bland. The crab cake in the burger was very flavorless and it felt undercooked. The texture was too soft and pasty. The waiters were nice and friendly so they definitely deserve the 2 stars. Would not come again.

Le Shack du Pêcheur is a hidden gem! I truly believe that people should drive to go there just to have a cozy seafood restaurant experience. The decor was nice, it wasn't meant to be a fancy place but more of an adventure style. They had décors of lobster cages hanging, some boats made out of wood & a "fake indoor terrasse" ( not sure how to call it but you would see once you visit the restaurant). The prices are fair. I came with my parents for the Sunday promotion which is 2 for 25$ fish and chips. They had quite a selection. The flavours were: beer battered, Cajun, Jamaican jerk, lemon and fennel, curry, classic and much more. The menu has a little bit of everything: salads, tartares, burgers, seafood platters.... My mom and I ordered the fish and chips. She had the lemon and fennel, I had the Cajun flavour. My dad ordered the mussels (creamy leek). The taste of the fish and chip was amazing. The texture of the fish was excellent. They served big pieces and were lightly battered (not the typical type where some places add a thick batter and you end up with a small piece of fish). The fish wasn't oily and was very crispy. This place used great quality fish for their fish and chips dish. As for the mussels, my dad loved the flavour. It was delicious and came inside a big pot. Overall, my experience was great. I feel in love with the food and can't wait to go back!

The first time we tried going it was complete pack and it was a 1hr wait. Second time I tried going it was starting to get packed around 5:30-6pm and 7pm was fully packed. We ordered the soup of the day - cream de broccoli which was good! the garlic escargot, very cheesy garlicy (Great start) steak with shrimp and steak with half lobster. I would say it started slightly going down hill with the main course; which i was very excited for but it was just average. reminded me of vieux duluth growing up. We ended with a cake i chose the forest cake it was was horrendous. It was dry, hard and the taste was off. every birthday growing up i use to love forest cake and as much as the appearance was similar the taste was definitely not there. I would say overall it was ok. But i expected a lot more from all the good reviews online and from how booked and occupied it always is. its a very Caucasian restaurant so when i significant and I walked in we got starred at, which at some point gets uncomfortable. Would i go back....no...was is nice to try atleast once yes.

Definitely devoured the slices quickly and gnawed on the rib bone before the server took the remains of this dish away. LOL. The Spaghetti with Lobster was delicious although the lobster was slightly undercooked. The tail was especially hard to pull away from the shell. I never thought I'd say white asparagus was decadent but it surely was when topped with the sauce. The 15 layer cake can honestly be skipped as it was the thinnest slice of cake I've ever seen. LOL. It was impressive that they could even slice cake that thinly!!! The waitstaff service was great with suggestions to round out the meal perfectly. The host was personable, even helped me with understanding the street parking rules in the area taking me on a stroll outside to check my spot on a really frigid evening.

My entire Montreal trip was planned around getting this reservation. The food here is good. It reminds me of what restaurants used to do; cook for enjoying instead of just paying the bills. When you start to cook for just the money, you lose the risk taking and excitement from the food. Firstly, the restaurant is very hot. They need to check their AC or maybe they're just choosing to be very European. But that aside our waiter was very good and friendly. He really helped make our dinner fun and memorable. The beef tartare was ok. The sweetbreads were probably the best I've ever had anywhere. The double down is their riff on the KFC sandwich where they used two pieces of fried chicken as bread, instead these guys used two pieces of fried foie gras. It's rich, fatty, and delicious. You do not want to eat more than what they've given but it was every bit enjoyable. The pasta and sausages were good as well. But the strawberry sorbet dessert was so damn good and exactly what I needed to cool down. I had a great experience and highly recommend Joe Beef.

We had been to this Baton Rouge location before and liked it, but I think the last time was in 2019. This place seems to be falling in disrepair; the decor is outdated, but that could be charming if it was well maintained - but it's not. Booth seats held together with duct tape, paper dispenser in ladies room also held together with "caution" tape, worn out tables, and my freakin wine glass had a huge chip at the base. Boyfriend had the filet mignon, asked for medium but it came well done. He had a side of shrimp and said they were tasteless; both our fries were stale, kind of cold and very obviously made from frozen. Only saving grace was my ribs which actually were pretty good; but overall none of our food seemed fresh at all, which bothers me when all dishes are $30++. Service was meh. We won't be back.
