My Hyundai driver side mirror was swiped and after visiting the Hyundai dealership and other auto repair places and gathering estimates, I found Leahy's Auto here in Yelp. They quoted me a price that literally saved me the hundreds of dollars I would've paid someplace else. I ordered my own side mirror and they attached it in no time and also gave me an estimate on some other repairs I needed for my front bumper. Drove off the highway with the battery light on on my way to Pittsburgh from Philadelphia. Called Leahy and they saw me at 730AM. They were very understanding of my situation and were able to get me a new alternator and install it. I was on my way before 11 AM! They got me setup for a repair and went out of their way to get me a free loaner car to use while my car was being worked on. After taking it apart to reveal damage that was worse than first thought, the car was declared a total loss - Leahys not only worked around my schedule to have me return the loaner at my convenience, they helped drive me back to work at no cost even when they had no business to earn from me. They were quick to pick my car up, but the problems came shortly after. I was told I could have it towed to get an estimate, and if I dont like it they can tow it back. Never told me how much towing was until when i wanted my car towed elsewhere. Basically, the issue started when I found another mechanic. I asked for a quote and he gave me a quote of about 1300 to fix collision that was mainly cosmetic and I purchased all of the replacements and sent them with the car, so the parts were paid for. I found another mechanic so I told him I wanted my car towed, and thats when he let me know that my car was being worked on (when I never made the half payment because I wanted to make sure I wanted him to do it)... He was in a "meeting" I never knew about the day I called to get the quote for towing and I had to pay them labor fees for work on my car that was not authorized by me nor half payment was never made because my mechanic is back in town so I wanted him to work on my car. I sent my car for a quote and I had to make my mind up for getting it serviced. He told me to call his daughter at the towing company so i can pay for the labor I didnt want as well as towing fees which I was fine with paying. I waited 2 hours for a QUOTE (that takes minutes) so I called her back and she said he was in a meeting, and i told her he was the one that told me to call her in a few minutes, but i was nice to let them put me on hold for the payment his daughter was supposed to process 2 hours after the fact. His daughter basically was trying to rush-talk me and give me word for word like I'm a child. So I cussed her out because basically I was doing what I was told. It doesnt take 2 hours for a QUOTE and also, I'm already pissed because they worked on my car without permission, nor payment. So now he is refusing me service. I called another tow company but the company i called was an "umbrella company", which is a company that is by the same company but has a different name. The tow truck driver was the same driver that picked my car up he is an angel by the way he never gave me a problem. Its the tow company/body shop that is the issue. The driver came to pick up the towing fees for towing my vehicle to Leahys Auto Body, and the fees for towing my car to the desired location as well as charges for disassembling my vehicle without permission nor payment. Leahys called me and told me that the tow truck driver isnt going to take my car anywhere because he works for him. I was just called and told that my vehicle is sitting on the ground (rotor to pavement) and its just sitting there and he told me to come get it and pick up the extra payment I gave them. Instead of putting a brick or something under the front passenger side to keep it off the ground. So if you want respect, this is not the place to be. And I received major backlash when I wanted my car elsewhere. And now he told me they close at 3pm when I was told they close at 5 pm previously, and it isnt even the weekend. So yea I just had it completely bad. But I had the tow truck driver take pictures of how my vehicle was left outside by leahys. I have to pick my vehicle up by 3pm and honestly I dont want to take anyone to court or any of that but the disrespect I was given so I have to have to act in a manner producing the same energy. But luckily I have a large fanbase so I will make sure the word is let out about this. I never came to him in a disrespectful manner but I do not play about mine. I stopped in to ask if there was anything they could do to the damage on the front passenger side of my car. I could not open the door. The man came out looked at my car and got a tool and popped out the dent in the door so I could open it. The price was right and I could not believe he did it right on the spot. I live in New Cumberland, and I believe in supporting our Town's businesses. It was much more convenient then going to the Honda Collision Center in Harrisburg. If I have the need for any body repairs in the future I will definitely go Leahy's. read more
